What a cliffhanger! Hope the next chapter is up soon - I can't imagine how Sev's gonna managed keeping either one of the boys alive. Ron's a moron (but then again, I guess we all already knew that :) )Glad Hermione tooks Snape's side but hopefully it won't end in death - at least for Draco Or maybe.... catching up on fic.   Yes what is Ron going to do?  On a whole this is an interesting dark romance.  You don't find these too often.

The grammar in this chapter bothers me. During her conversation with Draco you have Hermione saying "If the others hadn't shown up, would you have WENT through with it?"  Someone didn't beta this too well. Correct grammar is "would you have gone through with it?" Sorry, but I just had to say something. Love the story but this one point needs correcting.

Oh Merlin Southern, you do a superb job of weaving a tale in such a way that the reader begs for more.

There is no denying the passion between Severus and Hermione during this interlude. Severus's vulgar request, which would be a major turn-on IMHO, was barely turned aside by Hermione. How she was able to still say "no" while she gave instructions and kept her own hands moving was quite entertaining. This was not a "set up" but fulfilled a need in both of them. There is definitely a mutual attraction. The passionate kisses afterward would leave the impression of real affection behind them. As for Harry, he is learning more than he ever wanted to know about Severus Snape. Finding out he and Snape share similar backgrounds: orphan, felt at home at Hogwarts, etc., will send Harry off for a deep "think." It would seem that Snape is human after all.

But of course, she's conflicted about her feelings for Severus, and he's a decent man.  (Oh, he's so much more than decent...  *pant, pant*)  He went only as far as she agreed to go, and I love him for it.  Great chapter.  I'm anxious to see how this develops. 

By the way, I could see and hear Voldie in my mind, from your descriptions.  You write him just the way Ralph Fiennes plays him.  Good job!
