Reviews for Quantum Mechanics
Poor Septima. She just continues to beat herself up about things that were out of her control. And even if they weren't, she can't change them now. I am glad that she has Severus and Eileen for support.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you, again! Yes, Septima's biggest problem is that she thinks all her problems are because she did something wrong or didn't do something well enough. Fortunately, she does have a family that will support her while the rest of the confusion is resolved.
I'm glad that they found a way to keep themselves and Hermione safe without using a memory charm. And Dumbledore never quits, does he? Can't he just allow them one bit of happiness. It isn't as if Snape is refusing to help him with the Voldemort issue or anything. He just wants his family intact. Just give it up, already, old man. You are not in complete control anymore. Geez! I hope he gets what is coming to him.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! Keeping Hermione safe and keeping their own secrets so they can continue to find out what happened is very important to Snape. He's been hoping for and dreading this moment for years. And after 160-odd years, Dumbledore thinks he just needs to out-wait whatever is in his way. He wasn't expecting Septima to be quiet so tenacious, so he's got a problem, there.
I have a feeling it's not going to be that easy Sev * no one else tell him* - hehe... lovey Sev pov
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Oh, yes. He thinks just to get her out of his system, but she's solidly under his skin, isn't she? ;) Thank you for the lovely reviews!
Even though I'm glad they've finally become intimate, I don't know why, but I feel a sadness for Septima... I hope she'll enjoy her experience with him, even though he's not, for now, reiprocating the way she thought he would - *men* *sigh*...
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
She's got expectations she never mentioned, and she never really bothered to find out what was in his mind. It's a bit of a muddle, and she's bound to feel unsure and worried under the circumstances. Thank you for reviewing!
Love you depicting his ambiguous feelings and thoughts and the unavoidable comparison of Septima with Lily... oh, Severus... his being a young man, still very insecure in the 'love'/'attraction' area comes across so well... but, poor Septima; she's also young, inexperienced... but I don't how open or how long she'll or how se'll take being 'experiemented' on - more emotionally by Sev than physical per se -- looking forward to more!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
She's not exactly sure what the situation is, and he's not telling. He's cagey with his emotions. She's willing to take the chance, though. Thank you for the review!
Lovely evolvement of both of them being much more comfortable around each other, so much that Severus can take the, um, initiative It's lovely to see him, dare I say it, enjoying himself & her - thank you!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
LOL, thank you! He's having a hard time, trying to fit her into the role he wants her to have in his mind.
I thought I hated Albus before! Whew, what a nasty piece of work. (Tiny typo in the 3rd paragraph from the bottom "s" missing from Severus' name. )Thanks for the wonderful story.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Oh, thanks! I've been pretty shocked at the way I've writen Dumbledore in this story. He's just bad at every turn.

Poor bloke is so smitten he's all at sixes and sevens! :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you, again! Yes, he *knows* what he wants in his head, but the rest of him isn't so sure.
He needs a little work yet, but I'm sure he'll improve with time. Hopefully Septima will teach him what he needs to know. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
LOL, he probably had to *learn* how to be a love!god, right? I think he and Septima are more than able to carry their "research" into whatever place they find themselves. ;) Thanks for the review!
I didn't expect them to be young but that's good. More territory to cover. And pumkintini--bleh! But I still don't get the whole 'pumpkin juice' thing anyway. Sure it sounds 'witchy' but yech! I'll leave my pumpkin for quick breads thank you very much.It will be interesting to see where this goes.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Oh, thank you for reading! I tried to think of a "trendy" sounding drink that would actually be disgusting... Pumpkintini seemed a safe choice, LOL. I hope you continue to enjoy the story!
Sweet chapter! Great that Septima is able to spend time with her baby - especially considering that she has lost her memories concerning Hermione's birth.A short, sweet, calm chapter - mhm - now I'm really curious what the next chapter will bring. Hermione's new-found knowledge about her birth-parents. Dumbledore's reaction when he learns about the paternity of Septima's baby. I really wish Septima and Severus will be able to keep their baby, but Dumbleodre will be a problem, won't he?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Dumbledore is going to be a problem for about the next fifty-two months, LOL, but Severus has a plan. Thank you so much for the review!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Whoops! I meant the next 28 months or so.
Response from RawenclawBabe (Reviewer)
28 month - that would be the end of Hermione's (and Harry's) sixth year, wouldn't it? So Dumbledore will die at the same time as he did in canon? Interesting!Great story! I'm really curious how you continue.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Snap! Was that a spoiler? LOL, I'm pretty fanatical about sticking to the main canon events, so I figure that it's not too much of a spoiler. I like to think of my stories as "canon-consistent," which is a little AU here and there in ways that JKR seemed to be elastic about the canon. Thank you once again!
Well, the big reveal is coming up! Hopefully it goes well. Sad that Septima doesn't know Severus loves her. Of course, neither does he.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yeah, he's closer to calling his feelings love, but because it's not like what he had for Lily, he can't call it love. Meanwhile, never even knowing who Lily is, Septima can't even begin to figure out what she's up against. Thank you, as always!
Well it is about time :) And what a time for her to pick. He just gets through his son's birth, and now he suddenly, really and truly, has a daughter as well. But what a good father he already is. It was best that he came clean. She is too smart to be led on by what would become complicated lies. Interesting that Dumbledore approached the Grangers to adopt the boy.It is going to take awhile for all of this to soak in with Hermione. Hopefully she can come to terms with all of this, and wrap her brain around the fact that she now has two sets of parents. I think it is hard for any teenager to understand the tough decisions that adults make, but hopefully she will keep an open mind. Maybe if Septima and Hermione talk, it will clear things up for both of them, and maybe bring them closer. Can't wait to find out!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I think that's how it is. Hermione knows the basic facts, but she's going to have more questions and she's going to need time to think about it. Thank you so much for the review!
Denial, Sev. Not just a river in Africa! :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Septima appears barely able to keep track of her studies and her infatuation, and Severus has a few other things on his mind, too, like whether or not to join the Death Eaters and how he's going to get Lily to give him the time of day. We'll have to see how it goes.Thank you so much!
“I'm sorry, René,” Hehe poor Rene, his pedestal has crumbled. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
It was a one sided competition, LOL, and I don't think Descartes would mind if Septima found someone closer to her own age and station in life. He sort of paved the way for Severus... and I was a little shocked to look him up for a refresher and see how much he and the Snape of the books resemble each other. It was fun doing a little wool-gathering of my own for that chapter... mmm... Thanks, again!
Thought it sounded familiar! :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yes, I decided to take the plunge and see what happened before the DH year, and this is where I found myself. Thank you for reviewing!
Oh the confusion and insecurities of these two - making it hard to breathe for me - although Septima is clearly making some important, determined decisions... Oh, Severus! *sigh* lovely chapter!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! Septima was indeed making decisions, sort of, and Severus is on a different wavelength entirely, unfortunately. We'll see how it goes for them.
AHHHH!!!! hahaha - good update, but can we have just a little bit more?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
There will be more! Thank you!
OMG that is unexpected, but actually an excellent way to get them together. Snape managed a decent communication, which bodes well for their future. Maybe he can sneak out together with H for a visit? Pleasing all three women in his life AND plotting against A.D. with one stroke. Wow, that must be highly appealing... Hermione would seek out her biological relations, sure, but she's surprisingly willing to abandon the Grangers. Not telling a child about the adoption for 16 years is extreme, I have to admit, but I hope she does have lots of lovely memories and reasons to be grateful too. Once she plays out the alternative to full extend, she'll see even more, I expect. Uh, Snape should have reprimanded Hermione for comparing Septima to a cow, even if she was quoting Pansy.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you for the review! We haven't given up on the Grangers, although I've read that every Muggleborn would probably tend to withdraw from their family as they entered more and more into the wizarding world. The ice is broken, but there's probably going to be some fallout. You're right about the cow comment, but maybe Snape is off his game today. Thanks, again!
Response from Bettina (Reviewer)
Right, he should be off his game!!Experiencing the birth of his son AND the very first private chat with his daughter. I see the practical withdrawal, but emotionally this was harsh. Any parent who adopts has been through quite a mill of papers and really WANTS a child. The older Grangers obviously do not feel severely left out if they are seriously considering adopting yet another magical child. I like that.If you can lead Hermione to compare her early years with those of Neville, Ron and Harry, she should find so many positive sides--and they need not at all impact her relationship to Severus or Septima. Aaaah, but I forget, you do not want to make it easy.
Wow!!! Very unexpected turn of events, and I like them!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! I hope I'm doing this right.
Well, thats quite a cliffhanger. How will Hermione react to all this new information? Great chapter, although she considered Septima Vector as her possible birth-mother, she didn't really question her paternity. Must be quite a shock for her that the mean and Slytherin Potionsmaster Professor Snape is her biological father. I'm really curious what will happen next.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
There's going to have to be a sinking in phase as she sorts it all out in her mind, I think. She's always loved Septima, so if she can get past the thing where Septima gave her up, she'll be happy with that. Severus is really one of her favorite professors too, which is why that comment about her teeth cut her so deeply. She respects him as demanding. It's a bit of a cliffhanger from here, but what happens next will develop more slowly, I think.Thank you so much for the review!
The meeting of minds! Nice chapter. I'm enjoying their mutual respect for each other's intellect, which is obviously spawning an attraction from Septima's POV. I'm interested to know how Severus views her.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Oh, thank you! I'm interested in seeing how this works too. :)
Well, that went well. Now what to do with this baby who looks like a Snape? Surely they have a plan.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yes, that's the question. ;)Thanks, once again!
That is fabulous advice for getting labor started ... just not from your mother :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I know! You don't want to think about your parents doing it, and only slightly less do you want them to think about you doing it, LOL!Thanks, again!
Hmmm ... where is Poppy taking her? Anywhere but Hogwarts will surely be a good thing for her at this point. I do hope Severus can join her shortly.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
She's getting Septima away from Hogwarts for a few days, hopefully without causing Dumbledore to want to follow/track her.Thank you for the review!
