Reviews for Quantum Mechanics
Good old Poppy. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I forget when it started to worry me that Poppy would have a hard time keeping proper confidentiality at Hogwarts. I'm glad that there were ways she could have enforced it. Thank you!

Wahoo! She knows now. :D
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Oh, yes, she does. Thank you for the review!

I believe Severus is right. It is nice to have someone to discuss things with. Too bad he didn't have that sooner.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Part of the reason is self-inflicted, of course, but he has it now at least. Thank you!

Geez, I don't get his strong reactions to Septima and Severus. Is there some deep dark reason, or is Dumbles just a jerk? hahaha. probably a little from column a and a little from column b. Or is he so sadistic he wants Severus to suffer as much as possible?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I think he's a bit jealous of Septima, which of course makes him a bit of a jerk. Maybe he thinks Severus should suffer, too. I'm not sure. Thank you, again!
She's definitely good for him. I hope he realizes that. I know Dumbles never will.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Dumbledore is going to come to the realization that he needs to be a bit more congenial. I think Snape realizes he's much better of with Septima close by. Thanks so much!
Dumbledore really needs to die. Are we at sixth year yet?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
We're getting closer. Fifth year is almost upon us and will probably only involve a few scenes for this story. (Of course, I've been promissing myself that all along, and here we are knocking at the door of 100k words.) Thank you, again!
I really think he needs to clear the air, in both his head and hers. He is cute as a jealous father, though.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yes, and he really needs to be the one to clear the air. Septima is still feeling as though if she says too much she'll lose him, so her only weapon is to needle him with what bothers her. I'm having fun with him trying to tell Hermione what to do. Thank you, again!
Aww, lots of sadness here.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yeah, now that she's married and the baby's born, Septima's in a bit of a "what now?" phase of things. It's never what we expect. Thanks for the review!
Bloody hell, does A.D. know no manners or limits at all?!Severus is treating him surprisingly politely. He could have thrown the old meddler out instead, and I think Hogwarts castle would have supported him. It could finally show the old man that Severus is serious but you're not going to make it that easy. What the heck would A.D. want these "several others" to do to Severus--a fellatio every now and then?Severus' small lapsus with 'children' (damn it!) might have registered and could cost the family dearly. Visiting with her Arithmancy teacher in her premisses was easier for Hermione than visiting with the Snapes will be. You're really extra-hard on them!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
AD is 160-odd years old and probably figures anything is fair game, now. To be honest, I don't have a good sense for whether he did or didn't. I think he's really trying to point to "one other" but since Severus isn't playing along, AD's going to make life heck for Septima. Severus is still a bit under the weather and Septima is intimidated, so they're not going to call Dumbledore on it now. The time is coming, though. Dumbledore needs Severus much more than Severus needs Dumbledore. I always thought it likely that Snape was playing both sides until one started winning. Thank you for the lovely review!
HBAR is right--you manage to make this story even more complex with every chapter.I'm still lacking a clear reason for A.D.'s apalling behaviour. Can he be jealous of everyone who has found love--even if they are otherwise neck-deep in the shit like Snape and Karakoff are? But he preaches love to Harry.. despite odering him around likewise.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Oh, he very much believes in love, and yes, he's jealous, but not of everyone. Thank you for the review!
Severus and Dumbledore have such an interesting dynamic here, that if we get to the end of HBP, it will entirely change the intent in the scene on the tower. Septima is so good to Severus, and he is lucky that she loves him so much, given that he doesn't reciprocate quite like he should.*digs around* I know there is a happy ending buried in here somewhere! :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yes, I think I'm really exploring a sense of ownership that Dumbledore has here. Septima is good, but how far will she be willing to take it? My endings are usually happy. I think it's there, LOL. Thank you, as always!
I'm pretty sure that I have never been as disgusted with Dumbledore as I am in this story. And he just goes on and on until I want to push him off the tower myself. Thank goodness for Poppy.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
You'll be more disgusted when you read the next chapter, I suspect. I can't seem to help myself, writing him vile, and I usually like him. Thank you for the review!
Ouch, Severus! *pets Septima*And Erwin and Umbridge? A complimentary Obliviate, Rose, if you please. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
So sorry about the bad mental image. I had fun using it as a way to punish two nasty characters. Severus is about to get a shock when she gets herself placed at Hogwarts, though. Thanks for the review!
You just leave us hanging on a precipice waiting. Help! Great chapter.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Help is coming! Thank you for the review and for all the support!
Mr Filch, can you get these devices oiled? A certain Potions master should be hung by his tongue!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
LOL... he's going to have to learn what he's doing and why it's a problem... sometime. Thank you for the review!
For someone who craved power, Severus is remarkably powerless. And he's a real schmuck ... or socially moronic.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
LOL, I think he's all of the above! Fortunately, I think he's still growing and developing. Thank you for the review!
I want to shake some sense into Severus so he realizes Septima is worth more than several Lilys. Good chapter.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Well, Lily has her redeeming qualities, but I agree he should value Septima more. Unfortunately, at the moment she doesn't fit in with his idea that love should be hard and painful, since that's his experience with Lily. Thank you for the review!
He needs to be thankful for the woman he has, not pine over someone else's! :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Ah, but then he wouldn't be our Severus, would he? ;) I think he'll learn... eventually. Thank you for all the lovely reviews and the shiny stars!
He can separate them all he wants, but he can't keep them from seeing each other or sharing a bed. Really, can he die earlier in this fic than in canon?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
LOL, thank you! Who knows, maybe they'll discover that Dumbledore has redeeming qualities soon.
"the man who held back nothing physically with her but shared so little about his mind or heart." Very Snape. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I think Septima is finally starting to understand him. Thanks for the review!
Poor Severus, but he'll spend more time in her quarters, won't he? Dumbledore is cruel, but it's not really a surprise, he didn't help Severus or even punish the Marauders for bullying him, even when he was almost killed by Sirius Black's cruel prank. No, it was Severus, the victim, who was threatened with expulsion. Maybe Dumbledore will still find a way to make the baby and Septima disappear.Great chapter!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you so much! I think you have everything just about right. They know how to spend time together despite Dumbledore's wishes; it just won't be as convenient as they would like. There won't be as much time to worry about this in the near future, of course.
Damn the old meddler! Severus wasn't at his best here, but as a head of house I think he has a few ideas what the castle will allow, or so I hope? Brilliant idea to make Alice Longbottom the contact person and close this road before it even opened.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
LOL... they're pretty good at doing as they please from different living quarters already, but as we'll discover, there will be things besides Dumbledore to work around. I figured Alice would be the best person to handle this task because she would have been loyal to the person behind the whole thing and she worked for the Ministry as an Auror. The fact that she's unable to say much right now just played into my evil scheme. ;) Thank you for the review!
Wow! Steamy. It's funny to see Severus NOT in control.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! Well, he's in control in one sense, but very much not in control in another. ;)
I love that they secretly were married, and Severus was wise to do it early so it couldn't be contested.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thanks, again! Yes, Severus was trying to figure out how to get married for a couple of years. As he told Septima, it wasn't as though Dumbledore could actually do anything, but he would cause a lot of bother, and this way they were able to avoid it.
Well, Severus has seemed to win this one. I hope it stays that way.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yes, this is definitely a win. That's not to say there won't be further battles... ;) Thank you so much for the review!
