Reviews for Quantum Mechanics
Hehe. Well done! :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Septima has to use her brains once in a while. ;) Thank you for reading and reviewing!
The hair, not the hair! :D
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Yes... it can be the littlest thing that sets us off and makes us unbelievably crazy. Thank you!
He's still not getting it, is he? Someone needs to take him aside and whisper in his ear. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Which "he"? It doesn't matter, because they're both missing something important, LOL. Thank you, as always!
How hard is it to hear Remus waxing on about Septima and keep his mouth shut! :X
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
It's a torture of his own making, of course. ;) Thank you for the review!
Poor Septima is torn between Remus and Severus. If only Severus would tell her how he feels. :)
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
If only Severus would tell himself how he feels! I'm not sure Septima is torn so much as deciding whether or not to take what she can get. :/ Thank you for the review!
Hehe, the table bit! :D
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
You suggest, and I couldn't help myself! ;) Thank you for the idea, and thank you for all the support!
~pokes Dumbles with a pointy stick~
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
You and me, both. Thank you, as always, for all the lovely help!
This was recently recc'ed at the one_bad_man community on LJ and I have to say that I'm really glad that I found the time to follow up on the recommendation. I wanted to bitch slap Severus for being such a dolt in the beginning, but by the time he 'rescued' Septima from Erwin, I begin to think there might just be some hope for him after all. As to Hermione as Severus's daughter, that's a devious twist (and, yes, I am to a large extent an SSHG fan, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate any well-written and believable fic where Severus might actually find some portion of the happiness that his two masters set out to deny him). It works well because there are likenesses to both 'parents'. Unfortunately, I probably won't catch the chapters as they go up because I'm really bad with WIPs unless I get an email notification and it's not an option here, but I'll add it to my favourite stories and and somepoint I should remember to come back and check to see if it's grown. Thanks so much for sharing.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I'm always so honored when someone I respect stops by to look at my stories. It's truly a thrill. Thank you very much for reading and reviewing!I'm glad you're enjoying the premise even though you're an SS/HG fan. It's not a pairing that ever really caught for me, but I love to see them interact in other ways. Thank you, again!
“I believe Septima has discovered tonight that there's only one man in the world for her.” “But she's letting you touch her, Snape.” “Indeed.” Yep, that about sums it up. I hope it isn't temporary! Why do I know Dumbledore won't let it go?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
This Dumbledore has some decided likes and dislikes, doesn't he? Thank you for the review!
Well, not the most logical of steps, but the outcome was a good one. She would have felt awful had she gone through with it. I would have loved to be inside Lupin's head for this scene. Kinda feel bad. Oh, and Dumbles. Will he find out, and what will he do?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Of course Dumbledore will find out and with this Dumbledore anything could happen. Poor Lupin... fortunately or unfortunately, he'll get over it. Thank you for the review!
“But she's letting you touch her, Snape.” ~thwacks Lupin with clue-by-four, sends him to poison Dumbledore~
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
...And the giant clue brick strikes again! Severus's life would be so much easier if Lupin would just poison Dumbledore... hm... nah, the story wouldn't work that way. :/ Thank you for the review and all your help!
I'm so confused... what is Dumbledore trying to do, establish a breeding program? *holds her head in her hands and sighs*Dumbledore the Nazi doctor... *groans*
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
There's a particular thing he's trying to do here. Septima just sort of got swept up in the middle of it. Thanks, as always, for the review!
Remus needs to run to Tonks... yesterday. And I think you just need to release me in a room with Dumbledore, I'll keep him so busy he won't even remember who he's meddling with!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
That's not a bad idea about Dumbledore! Thank you for the review!
Despite hating your Dumbledore, I do really enjoy the way you've written Severus as being far kinder than he usually allows himself to be, and I love how you've woven Hermione into all this - Remus seems a bit odd - I never remember him being so eager in romance, but - well it works for this story.Your Arithmancy prose is truly some of the best I've read in regards to watching magic in the works. If only you were kinder to my favorite wizard... *winks*
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you so much for the thoughtful reviews! I did stretch some of the personalities in different directions than we usually see. You're right about that.
*sighs*This is painful to read...
Response from Fishy (Reviewer)
Its quite painful to see your favorite character become a big, corporate evil cheeseball.... *sighs* but I'll continue reading...
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I'm so sorry about that! I agree that he's completely OOC here. Thank you for reviewing!
A different side of Snape - usually we read about how much he loathes Hermione - this is touching. His compassionate side is quite becoming. Still.... what you've done to Dumbledore... hard for me to forget that... but I suppose, that's your luxury, as they are yours in this piece.I'll try not to hold it against you.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
He has to seem to loathe Hermione, and since she's usually so close to someone he does loathe, maybe it's easier.Dumbledore might get a little more sympathetic in a bit.Thank you for the lovely reviews!
“All right, Professor. Is that all?” At his nod she looked at him searchingly and went on her way. He couldn't remember where else he'd seen that facial expression until he was shaving the next morning. That's truly brilliant.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! It can be fun as a parent to see various facial expressions that resemble ourselves or other loved ones.
I absolutely love how you write the magic of Arithmancy - I've never been good with numbers but I imagine those skilled with mathmatical arts would view this exact language this way - its beautiful they way you've written it.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! As someone who's got one foot stuck in fairyland and enjoys working with numbers, I can say that finding ones way through a complicated problem sometimes feels like magic going through the veins, at least for me.
Hrmmmm, this is a difficult chapter to swallow. I just can't see Dumbledore being so callous, and with his affinity and appreciation for love, it just doesn't make sense to me.Still enjoying your story, however - sorry for my harsh review.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
It isn't my favorite chapter, either. Dumbledore has his own ulterior motive in all this, which is why he's going to be so callous. Thanks again for the review!
Nice to see this through Hermione's eyes. Glad they seem to be past the hardest part. Now they can maybe grow together.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! It was time to start looking through Hermione's point of view once in a while. I think they are past the hardest part, although the world they live in won't let anything be easy. Thanks, again!

I like Hermione's observations of her parents' relationship. Like Eileen, I thought Severus and Septima were going to announce they were expecting again. Congratulations on getting to chapter 100.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you! I expected this to be over somewhere in the 60's, but more story came out, LOL. As for when and if they're expecting again, time will tell. Thanks for the review!

So true, so sad, but very well done!
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
Thank you so much! I think she needed a chance to get it out, and not in the snippy little comments that can chip away at a relationship. It's all out there (well, mostly), and they can build on a sturdier base now.

Poor thing. Can't really blame her for feeling this way now that she knows the full truth. Seems to me that she is not the other woman, but someone needs to realize that, and I'm not talkin Septima.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
I've been both eager and hesitant to get to this part of the story because it's all out there, now (well mostly) but now they have to face what it means and sort out what really lies between them. Septima finally knows what she's up against, and Severus needs to decide what he wants to hold on to. Thank you, as always!

What a bitch! It's about time they erase that memory/woman out of their lives! But I know Severus has to hold on for you to keep canon--how cruel is that?
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
It's killing me, for sure, LOL. I think, now that he's completely exposed to her, Severus will find that Septima truly has his interests at heart and that love doesn't have to hurt. Thank you for the review!

Geez, that's an awful memory. And yet he clings still. Dude needs a lobotomy.
Response from Rose of the West (Author of Quantum Mechanics)
He's been resisting giving her this last important bit of himself. Since she found out already, he's at least trying to control how she understands it. It will be interesting to see how they work together after this. Thank you for the review!
