I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.

Thank you so much. I'm really pleased it touched you.
Sexy. That is this story in one word. I love it. I can't wait to read about the date.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
A very nice birthday. It's a sad day when the Malfoys turn out to be better friends/family than her friends from the past. But I do like this turn of events and it's nice to see the Malfoys taking her on as their own.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I wanted to see what would happen when the roles were reversed as it were.
I am so glad that Hermione has the Malfoys, especially Narcissa in her corner. She needs a mother, and a girl friend, and someone who can give her advice as to the ways of the wizarding world. With Narcissa, she has found all of this. Somehow, I knew you were going to leave us before they got to the date. I hope it is as spectacular as I imagine it would be. I hope she gets to use her newly gained knowledge. And I wonder if and when he will tell her about the curse. Looking forward to more!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Hermione is in for a bit of a surprise at the start of the next chapter :)
I enjoyed reading all about the day of pampering Hermione had with Narcissa, as well as "The Talk" between the two as if mother and daughter... The fact that Narcissa isn't actually her mother but only recently has become so close makes it easier (I think) for the two of them to speak of such things with a minimum of embarrassment.I do hope that Hermione will discuss further with Cissa the dark cloud hanging over Severus, and what she might be able to do to overcome his possible attempts to push her away. The use of the pureblood rituals during their first time sounds like it has awesome possibilities to at least put a large dent in the power of the curse, if not take it out altogether.I look forward to reading the next chapter, and seeing what happens!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Yes, I think Narcissa has unwittingly given Hermione a very powerful tool in pushing back and even defeating the curse of the Dark Veela. For it is the expression of true love that is needed to release Severus from the curse, and this is what the ritual allows full expression to.
wish i could give this more than 5 stars. I love it,and look forward to reading the next chapter

Thank you. More up shortly.
What a lovely birthday for Hermione, I can't wait to see what Severus has planned for her. :)

Thank you. More up soon.
Wonder what she wants to ask Narcissa. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Indeed. It should prove to be interesting in the very least.
Hmmm... I'm not sure why I didn't review this back when I read it. I'm falling down on the job, I tell ya. On that note, I remember especially liking this chapter, but no specifics come to mind. Other than the very end where Hermione is eager to move things along. He says, "If a relationship is in existence, it has to be open and above board." Never does he say that an open relationship is not an option. He might have meant it that way, but I think she'll take it and run with it. Go Hermione!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Indeed. Severus is being his usual cautious self. I'm really glad that you picked up on that line of thought actually - no one else seems to have realised that he never tells her it cannot be.
It seems to me that the key word here is "student"--get Hermione to sit her NEWTs early and spend the rest of the year as a sort of adjunct staff member, and that would probably solve the problem... Besides, we all know Hermione could have sat her NEWTs back in fifth year! I'm very excited that Luna's remarks about magical signatures got Hermione to really start looking at Severus' aura. It may not be long before she begins to suspect that his natural aura is being smothered by an outside force. I'm also glad to see that Luna has an interest in Harry Potter! Go, Luna! I'm rooting for her.I see that the next chapter is in queue...I can hardly wait!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Yes, I agree that Hermione could have sat for her NEWTs in her fifth year, but I understand her wanting to take her time and really understand the wider range of magical theory before going out into the world, or specialising. But yes, I do believe that Luna was trying to direct Hermione in the right direction. I think Luna is the only person to realise that there is something affecting Severus' aura.
So what exactly does he mean? Is he going to move the relationship along and let the cat out of the bag? This has been my favorite chapter yet. Their sweet affection with one another is so wonderful to see.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Well, I'm not really sure what Severus is thinking of, but Hermione is going to move the action forward. She's got a good backing of supporters after all.
Hmm. To tell or not to tell, that is the question. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Indeed. I doubt though that Severus is going to do much talking about things at this point of time. He is still hiding.
Severus does have a point in waiting. Perhaps there are some way for them to spend time together without violating the enchantments. Perhaps if she acts as a teacher's assistant, she can spend time with him without drawing suspicion.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, there are plenty of ways for them to spend time together, but I think that Hermione is getting impatient. She wants things to change, and change now.
great chapter, I really am enjoying this story..love the non-snarky snape and Luna is a dream
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I think there's still plenty of snark in Snape, he's just doing his best to curb it. He's realised that it is part of the Dark Veela curse, and that it is a device being used to keep him from getting close to people. Thus, now that he is aware of it, he is strong enough to willfully control his first reaction to people.
Oh man that bites. My heart is contracting in sympathy for Hermione. But I am not surprised. I just hope that they can find it in their hearts eventually to forgive her and reestablish communication esp. for her wedding and when the Snape heir(s) come along.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, one can hope I suppose. I know a real life example where the parents totally stopped all communication with their eldest daughter because she married someone they didn't approve of. They didn't speak to her for over seven years, until she had a son who was born with a hole in his heart and was going in for major surgery, and then they made up around his hospital bed.
whoo YUmmy--an Aussie tryst for our favourite Magickal couple!! And why is Severus still calling his new home Lestrange Manor? Extra, extra cookies for you for having Hermione use Slytherin tactics on Snape and having Harry finally sort Ronnie out. One down, two to go. And I still think it'll serve Ginevra right if Harry does pair up w/Luna::whistles::
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I think he's calling it Lestrange Manor so that the people who haven't been informed don't know that he is living there I suppose.
YAY! Severus has a real home & estate!! Hopefully very soon it'll also be Hermione's!!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, and that's sure to really annoy the power and fortune hungry trio of Ginny, Ron and Molly.
Yep, Harry does need some "away" time without Ginevra. Until she can clean up her act, she's just a drag and a shrew to be around. Maybe Harry might hook up with Luna instead?! I sure don't mind.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
I think everyone who reads this story seems to want Harry to hook up with Luna. I suspect that it is not too impossible, but, they need to arrive at the conclusion themselves. At the moment, Harry's still not come to grips with the fact that breaking up with Ginny does not mean he's losing the support of the Weasleys.
A lovely party and banquet; the Malfoys at their hospitable best.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Mmmm.... well entertaining is one of their best known traits.
ah, I just adore Severus when he's being seductive and courtly. ::melt::
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes. I swoon just thinking of him. Lucky, lucky Hermione. If only he was real and not a figment of our imagination. To me Severus is a collective of James Bond, Edward Rochester, Fritzwilliam Darcy and Alan Rickman [voice].
So Hermione's background has given her the poise and deportment prized by the pureblood world--good.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, it has. No wonder she was able to handle the Malfoys without too much difficulty. Can you imagine Ron in a similar situation? Or even someone like Lavender. Grin... that brings to mind the scene from Pretty Woman :)
IT's a joy to see Hermione dazzling in lovely gowns & jewels. If anything were to happen to her parents, I'd like to see her formally adopted by the Malfoys. Bout time that girl indulged in girly pleasures (and Narcissa is the ultimate enabler) I'd love to be enabled with shopping & spa sprees (that I didn't have to pay for)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, I know. But Hermione needed it - she needed to feel like a woman and not just a walking brain. Besides, we finally get to see the womanly side of Narcissa, and not the ice-queen that canon shows us most of the time.
Weasley stewing: priceless. BWAHH!!! (maniacal chuckles) Hermione will gain an invaluable education being around such Slytherin excellence......
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
She will. Though I suspect there is far more of the Slytherin mentality in her than one suspects. Remember Unbridge, Edgecombe and the like.
Love love LOVE Narcissa's reasoning!! ::smirk::
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes. It's spot on. She's one savvy Slytherin.
