I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.
Reviews for Dark Veela
I was rather taken back that she, Molly, even in her state of darkness would be willing to ask such personal questions. I was delighted they were answered with such couth, and grace. Nice dig. *giggle*Well done. Lovely.Thank you again for sharing. I was utterly delighted to see this update~

Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. Yes, Molly is really suffering under the cloud of Darkness now, but the worst I think is that it has made her forget something called embarassment and manners. I do hope she gets better soon. I love writing Lucius, he is so good at putdowns without even trying.
Fantastic new chapter to a fantastic story.

Thank you so much for the review and the lovely stars. I'm glad you're enjoying the story and that the chapter was worth the wait :)
still hating ginny and molly, you make them so deliciously malevolent. great great update, worth the wait. Enjoy your break

Thank you for the review and the stars. I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter. Yes, Molly and Ginny make super villains because they have been so nice in canon and it is the role reversal that makes them stand out. Everyone expects Slytherins to be nasty, so that's not such a shocker to the system. But they won't stay horrid forever, I do want to do more than JK did with her version of redemption for the Slytherins.
Oh happy day, a new chapter to this wonderful story! I definitely understand that writing for pleasure needs to take a backseat to Real Life sometimes--PhD work is hard! The Order meeting seems to have addressed many of Molly's concerns and prejudices; how long it will stay with her, who knows, but hopefully having her eyes opened like this along with the good influence of Arthur, Bill and most of the rest of the family will allow Molly to finally start getting some control of the Darkness within her. Don't know if Ginny's redeemable yet. Nothing said at the meeting seemed to make any kind of impression on her other than the fact that Hermione is now rich and she's not. Still, if there is a way at all to get through to her I'm confident that Theo will be able to find it.I was also happy to see a teeny little bit of Harry/Luna interaction as well! I'm terrible, aren't I? This is Hermione and Severus' story, but I do love my Luna as well. This chapter was well worth waiting for, and I'll wait just as long if necessary for the next one!

Thank you my dear for a lovely, thoughtful review and the pretty stars.I love Luna and Harry too so I do understand, but I'm not rushing that relationship. They need time - Harry to come to grips with what he really wants, and for Luna to leave school and really become a strong woman in her own right. I think that would really help Harry. Though he is coping well, he has his own Darkness as can be seen by his need to escape. So, I don't think they are ready to find each other yet. Molly and I think Ginny will begin to improve now that there are more Slytherins involved in their affairs. They know what Dark magic can do, they are the best placed to help the two women deal with this thing.
Great update. Looking forward to seeing the reactions to the official announcement of their engagement!

Thank you for the stars and the review.
This is one of my favorite works in progress. It is well written and makes my day when I see an update. I know real life must take precedence, so really appreciatte the updates.

Thank you so much for the lovely review and the pretty stars. It really makes my day when I see a nice review :)I do hope that over the Yule holidays that I shall get more done. I've got tentative plans of what I want the next chapters to contain, so it is now only a matter of filling in the detail and getting it all betaed.
It was nice to have a chapter dedicated to happiness only, from everyone, really. No drama, no angst, just happiness. Not that I think it will last forever, but it was good while it lasted. The idea of forming a garden project for the Weasley females sounds like a great idea. It can't hurt even if it doesn't work the way they expect it to.I will agree with Hermione that the financial discussions really knock some romance out of a relationship. But the wizarding traditions are important both to Severus and the Malfoys so it is necessary. The descriptions of the couples auras were great. Really made it clear, just from the colors described what emotions were being felt and how compatible people are. I liked that part a lot.I hope the wedding comes up quickly, and then the wedding night, for their sakes, of course. Then they can get on with the rest of their lives. Hopefully by then, the Weasleys will be sorted out as well.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you for your well thoughtout review and the pretty stars. Yes to everything you said really. I wanted the auras to be explained. Luna's mentioned it in passing and it was one of the things that I had been waiting to explore and depict. I'm glad it was explanatory and showed how relationships affected people's auras. As for the weddings, they are coming up fairly soon, promise. Though they still have a couple of things to get through first. But at least they can be more open in their relationship, and spending Yule together won't be such a trial now.As for the Weasleys, I think that Molly and Ginny are going to find the gardening and herbology project very challenging. Molly has never been much of a gardener as can be seen from the descriptions of her garden at the Burrow. They manage to clear out the gnomes and that's about it really - so this, working women's magic and healing their darkness is going to bring up many issues. But it is going to help.
The three girls are so sweet together. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I thought they all needed real girl-friends.
That was delightful. Thank you for updating.

Thank you so much for the review and the lovely stars. I do apologise for taking so long to update. Hopefully the next installment will be up faster.
a brilliant plan brilliantly executed! thanks and smoochies

Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you think so.
I've been reading this since the first chapter was posted. Other than the occasional overlooked typo or miss used word (these being very rare), it is very well written. The plot does contain some common themes, but hold a very unique twist to them. I can honestly say you have me devouring every chapter, and occasionally just re-reading the whole story from the begining... Ok frequently re-reading it.All in All: VERY WELL DONE!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much both for the marvellous review and the lovely stars. I'm so pleased the story has caught your attention and held it throughout repeated readings. More up shortly.
Great chapter! Glad to see you're having the Slytherin's taking over slowly. Looking forward to seeing more character interaction after the Halloween Feaset / Ball!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
More coming up shortly. Thank you very much for taking the time to read and review. It really means a lot.
It looks like the plan is coming togetherr ather nicely. I almost feel sorry for Ginny with the way she's being used by Theo. I did say almost. She's still so full of herself. But I am looking forward to seeing more interaction between Severus and Hermione.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, I know, but I think they will be good for each other, especially once Ginny gets over her darkness. She's a good person really, but Riddle was in her head and heart from the age of 11, its going to take a lot to get rid of his taint now that it has come to the foe.More Herimone and Severus coming up.
Nice that Ginny played right into their plans.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Indeed. But then Slytherin solutions do often mean that both parties feel they've gained something useful.
That was quite good (I wandered over here, with the back up at OWL). I like that Ron is realizing his problems. I wonder what he will do about Lavender.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Yes, Lavender is going to be a problem, but I think Ron's finally seeing sense and with it, he should be able to figure something out. The trouble before was that he refused to accept that there was a problem. Now that they've all come to at least realise their inner darkness, there is hope of controlling it.
YAY! I'm so glad for this update. I've been looking for it everyday. There is a quality to this story that I just can't discribe that I love. Can't wait for more.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much. More up shortly, promise.
Well, their plan for Ginny seems to be working, and I hope it continues to do so. As for Ron, I don't think it is especially important whether he stops feeling the negative emotions from the dark magic. The biggest thing is that he now realizes what is going on, and can rationalize what he is feeling and what he should do about it, and consequently make better choices. We may just get some semblance of a happy ending here afterall.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes. That's what I think too. It's not getting over it but controlling it, just as Lucius and Severus seem to be doing. I guess Lucius does it with his entirly cold demenour.
Astoria's brilliant, it sounds like Theo is exactly the kind of guy Ginny needs, someone who's not in the least put off by her scheming ways and who actually finds her exciting. The fact that he's also wealthy, charming, and hot won't exactly hurt his chances either.Ah, it's going to be very interesting watching Theo attempt to tame the lesser Weasley shrew. And may I second the request for more Severus and Hermione... pretty please?
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
More Severus and Hermione coming up. Yes, Theo and Ginny are going to be interesting to watch - I'm not sure how much I can explore in this story though. I feel it is getting bigger all the time. I suppose this is what happens when you don't have a solid plan on how it's gonig to pan out :)
sounds like the plan worked. More Severus and Hermione, please.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
More Severus and Hermione coming up shortly.
Ah, Ginny may have met her plotting match in Theo! So glad to read more about Ron's coming around, and the added depth and dimension to George's character is great to read too.So Blaise is looking for a woman, eh? Perhaps Lavender might be interested, if Ron can manage to gracefully extricate himself...Blaise's possessive streak sounds as though it would be a balm to Lavender's ego. Looking forward to reading more!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Yes, it Blaise and Lavender do sound like a good idea, but I don't think I'm going to explore it at the moment. Good thought for a one-shot or something at some point however.
great great chapter and well worth the wait.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it.
I just love your nasty Ginny. She is so fun to hate!Great story, thanks for updating!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I don't really hate her or want you to though. I'm just really exploring how someone who has been fairly decent can suddenly go bad at their exposure to complete darkness.
It's such a good story. I love the bond between Draco and Hermione. Please post more soon.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)

Thank you so much for the review. I'm glad you liked it. I thought it would be a good way to show the others how that actually interact and get along.
More.More. More! I love the plotting and scheming. Finally Harry has dropped Ginny. Luna to save the broken heart? I hope so! Soon Hermione & Severus can do a little more "getting to know you".Lovely! Thank you so much for sharing~
