I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.

Ever the diplomatic Arthur. Great to see he acknowledges and is willing to think through the changes of behaviour of those around him, especially his famly.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Mm... yes, the problem isn't really Arthur though. The others seem to find it much harder to accept, especially Molly, Ron and Ginny.

Glad to see the changes in people being noticed so quickly instead of allowing it to fester. Treatment on the other hand...
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Indeed. Figuring out what's going on is the easy part. I think though that treatment's going to be something else. Especially because no one is going to like being told they've been touched by something like the Dark.

Severus thinks he can truly be happy if he can trick and manipulate someone into a relationship with him. Very promosing...He he, nice to see the surreality of Severus and Hermione interacting on a more adult level.

Yes, well, this is the twisty Severus we are dealing with. I think he's still not realised what destiny's plans are for him, poor dear.I've been so disappointed in going back to the original texts to see so little interaction between Hermione and Snape. I had to change that for them in my world :)

Glad to see the balanced and realistic responses to the press conference. Unfortunately, Molly and Ron's reaction is quite disturbing.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
I tried to make the press conference a place where a balanced sense of the events could be put forward. Molly and Ron's reactions are a part of a much darker problem.

Great to have the opportunity to gain insight into the relationship between Severus and the Malfoys.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
I've always wanted to see how they interact with each other. All we have in the books is bits that tantalise but don't go very far. We know Narcissa trusts Severus when she comes to him to aid Draco. And we know Draco is jealous of him and his rising place in the Dark Lord's structure, but hardly anything else. But I suppose that gives us more to imagine.

I enjoyed Kingsley's observation of Hermione having the Malfoys in hand.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes. I love Kingsley and his ability to sometimes get to the heart of things.

‘We must remove all traces of Bella. For Merlin’s sake, Lucius, make sure the dungeons are cleaned out. We need to dispose of all the bodies and make sure nothing can be held against us.’Hmm. Good plan, Batman.too funny Draco getting the dressing down and him (and us) getting a good explaination of just what effect Harry and the crew's press conference has had on the magical community.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Glad you liked it. That was tricky. I think Harry and Hermione didn't really know how the other side would read all of this. I know Luna's family connections were completely unknown to any but Hermione, who once she in my mind at least started researching Snape, went on to research everyone else. That's just the kind of thing she'd do.

Glad to see Harry coming into his own here. Lovely chapter!

Thank you. I so wanted to see Harry grow up. For most of the books he's such an annoying little shit.

Glad to see Hermione reallise early on that her relationship with Ron wouldn't work and that she knows they type of relationship she needs and wants.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hmm..... I always found the canon version of them staying together completely unlikely. They are just too different. You need something besides having grown up together and fought a dread lord to keep a relationship alive.

Aw, so lovely to see Severus have that moment with his mother!Nice to see Hermione make the first move with the Malfoys.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thanks. I wish we'd seen more of Severus' family in the books. I'm sure there's loads of stories just under the surface. As for Hermione and the Malfoys - they are a combination impossible to ignore.

Very intriguing. Off to re-read more. :D

Hi, still being the loyal and patient fan. I finally finished school and I'm able to spend a little more leisure time reading here. I still love this story and looking forward to some happily ever after.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Congratulations on finishing school. Well done.I had planned to have more written on the story by now but life has been crazy busy these last few months. My mother is 74 and had a fall. So, she's completely helpless and needs a lot of care. Fingers crossed she recovers in the not too distant future and I can find some time for myself again.

I just came over here to see if you were also archiving this story at TPP, and you are, but it's still at chapter 37. I absolutely LOVE this story, and it seems to be close-ish to a conclusion (depending on how far past their wedding you plan to go) -- I'm hoping that you're planning on finishing it.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello, Thank you for the review. I'm working on the next chapter at the moment, and should have something up by the end of the month or early May at the latest.I'm struggling with the amount of detail really. A part of me wants to just explore and research and the other just get to the wedding :)Don't worry. I shall finish the story.
Abosolutley love this story. I come back and check every so often. However your thesis comes first, good luck. Just please come back to this great story (the concept is brilliant) when you get the chance. It honestly is too good to not get finished one day.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much for your review and the stars. Yes, I promise to finish this as soon as the thesis is done. It is one of the first things I'm going to do after a long, long sleep.xxx
Aaahh...Just spent the last little while catching up to this chapter after finding the story on Ashwinder originally. This is absolutely amazing. Brilliant handling of the plot and great writing skills! I just love this story and can't wait for more :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I must confess though that you will have to wait awhile for the next update. My mind is just not in the right place at the moment because of work to give Severus and Hermione's nuptuals the concentration it deserves.
I was just thinking of this story the other day and wondering if there was more of it. But, alas, we are still waiting for the wedding. I hope the summer has been good to you and we can expect a new chapter, perhaps before the fall semester?
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you for the review. I am sorry that it is taking so long to post the next installment. I have begun working on it, but I'm working flat out at the moment on my PhD thesis. Final stages now - so the poor fanfiction just gets pushed aside. Hopefully once the latest theory chapter is sent off [I've got a deadline for the 19th of August] I shall have some time to work and finish the chapter.
Response from WriterMerrin (Reviewer)
Ooo, that's one serious deadline. I think the fanfic can wait for you to rest your brain a bit after that.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. But, in truth, I'm really looking forward to getting back to fanfiction. Hopefully, the supervisors will like the draft and there won't be major re-writing.
I like that this chapter was mostly dedicated to Theo. He is going to be instrumental in getting Ginny on track, so he might as well get some screen time. I think if she were a Slytherin, he would not need advice on how to handle her. But how to work a Gryffindor, that takes some thought. I am glad that he can see that Ginny is a good person, deep down. I do want them both to be happy, even if there are ulterior motives behind their relationship. Nice chapter.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you so much for the review and the stars.Yes, totally. Ginny and Theo both do need to find happiness and they are both ideally suited to understanding each other. He would like a real family and home, and she wants the place in society that he automatically ocupies. However, once Ginny's darkness can be handled, hopefully she will see the goodness in Theo too and they can find real happiness. I really wanted to present the backstory of Theo so that readers could understand his motivations and actions better.
Glad to see Theo had a chapter mostly all to himself to shine in! As one might expect from a Slytherin, he genuinely wants to help but is certainly not above getting something for himself while he's about it. While most other people will say "friendships should be equal", a Slytherin will expect both parties involved to make sure that things are equal by looking out for themselves as well as their friend. That's rather more pragmatic than "evil". I hope his plan to place a bug in Ginny's ear regarding the Nott estate gardens bears fruit (pardon the pun)! Right now, if she thinks it will ensure her becoming a Baroness, I think she'll leap at the opportunity. Can't wait until the next chapter!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello my dear,Thank you for the review and the stars. Yes, indeed, if Ginny thinks that helping or at least getting involved in the re-building, organising of the Nott gardens is a way into becoming Theo's wife, she will take a lot more interest into this plan. She needs something to belong to and Harry just wasn't in the right place to give her what she wanted. They were just too different or became so and I think this would have happened anyway at some point. I really can't see Harry wanting a wife with a sports career while he looked for a quiet home.Theo and the Slytherins are so special. And I agree, you've got their thinking spot on.
quick but perfectly formed. Loved it. Really enjoyed seeing Notts intelligence shine through. Draco's more mature attitude was perfectg
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much for the review and the stars. I adore the Slytherins and think they are totally under-rated in canon. Its so interesting playing with their complexities.
Thank you for the update! It's much appreciated, especially knowing how busy you are. Great chapter! Glad to see they've garnered so much support and acceptance of their relationship. It's also good to see they've managed to find a way to subdue Ginny and Molly to a degree. Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello my dear,Thank you so much for the review and the lovely stars. Yes, it is good that they've got so much support. And I think Ginny and Molly are on the cusp of finally breaking the hold Darkness has taken on them.
" . . there were large platters with warm shredded duck, orange and little gem salad with hazelnut oil dressing, baked Cornish brie wrapped in filo pastry with beetroot and apple salad, honey roast Devon pork sausages with mashed potato, gravy and vegetables and, to end it all, individual servings of white chocolate mousse topped with blueberries."You have the BEST descriptions of food!!! I've noticed it throughout this story - my mouth was watering when I finished that paragraph.Loved the whole chapter (not just the food descriptions!). I am curious to see how you deal with Ginny. I'm beginning to think Theo deserves someone better. And I love Harry and Luna together.(Now, off to find something to eat - wish it could be white chocolate mousse with blueberries . . .)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much for your lovely review. And the pretty stars, of course. I'm so glad you are enjoying the food. I am constantly trying to lose weight, and each time I write about food, I'm hungry and dreaming of all the super things I want to eat :)Ginny is not a bad person and once the Darkness has been dealt with, I think she will be ideal for Theo. She's learnt from Molly and Arthur how to be practical, how to roll up her sleeves and get the job done. I think he'll need that in a partner.
I can't wait to see what happens when the Dark Veela curse is lifted!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you for the review.Yes, I think the curse lifting is going to be very interesting. Molly's reaction is going to be priceless :P
Well that went better than expected. The younger generation has matured considerably, and the Weasley women seem to be coming out of their fog of prejudice. I hope it lasts.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Hello and thank you so much for the review and the lovely stars.Yes, it did go better, I think having Theo there really kept a lid on Ginny's Darkness and Molly is starting to become more manageable, though of course, she needs to learn to do the managing herself.
