I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Ah, and there I was, hoping Minerva could come differently into the play... ;o) (typical lament of a hopeful MM/SS-shipper *g*)
Intense and dense chapter, and oh so dark the path of his soul seems to be. How good to know it's a fanfiction over here, so I dare to have hope!
Author's Response: Sorry, Alcina. I do love Minerva, but she'll play a supportive role in this one.
Hope springs eternal with me, so there's definitely hope.
Oh yeah, you know how to feed my need for angst! Yum, delicious! Haha. This is just perfect honey, seriously, you're really tackling the issues of surviving DH. I really love Severus' thoughts, they're not only perfect for him and the situation but its also nice for me to read about people suffering from self depricating thoughts, since I do it myself. Anyways I'm rambling. Thanks for posting and I'm kinda anxious to see how you're going to introduce this speck of hope. Much Love Always ~ Karen

I think we all kick ourselves when we're down. It must be some sort of need to feel worse than we do. The ultimate wallowing in sorrow. Poor Severus has much to wallow about and the poor guy hasn't really had time or the ability to do it before now.
Evil, evil woman leaving us hanging like that. Please update soon.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Sorry. At least no one is in mortal peril.

ah, yeah. hella angst. loves it. normally i feel that stuff like this doenst go far enough, as if the author is afraid of taking emotions too far and being someone who throws tantrums and holds a grudge for freaking ever, i always feel incomplete when authors do that, but THIS feels pretty damn perfect. as i said before... more pleez. :)
Author's Response: Wow, thanks! I'm flattered. I think Severus can really be dark about himself even. Who wouldn't be with that past?
Come on now, give me a little more! I'm so glad HErmione will be coming up quickly, and I can only hope the next chapter arrives quickly as well! *hint hint* Great job so far.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
*Hangs head in shame* Sorry, the update will be a little while as I've been out of town for a week. But it'll be up soon, promise! Glad you're enjoying it.
The poor man is suffering from depression. The darkness he is subjecting himself to as a punishment isn't going to help that. He needs a reason to break out of the prison he has placed himself in. It's a harsh thing to say, but I'm glad that he is no longer clinging to the false feeling of love for Lily. He deserves so much better. Great chapter! :D
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Thank you! Yes, the poor man has pushed everything down for so long, it has finally caught up with him. He definitely needs some time and space.
He has so much sorrow and anger inside of him. His words are so disheartening, and he is struggling with the ghosts of things he cannot change. Sad.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
It really is. I think it would be impossible for him to hide from all that he's had to do once the war was over. Now he has all that time to think and regret.
I can understand why he is so upset. He is suffering physically and mentally, he has been 'sentenced' to five more years of servitude, and he has to rely on others for assistance. That would be enough for anyone to bear under normal circumstances. He needs time to adjust. Great beginning! :D
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Thank you! You're spot on with the servitude part. He's finally free of his two puppet masters, but now he is a slave to his old, unloved profession. What a giant disappointment. His depression will only get worse for a while, and who can blame him. Of anyone, Severus deserves accolades, not mistrust.
I'm so glad Hermione and Severus told each other how they feel. It's about damned time. I think they'll figure out what to do with their relationship when heleaves. maybe he'll be allowed to stay with Hermione. I'm sure they wouldn't mind moving in together. Or perhaps they could get a place in Hogsmeade, that way Hermione could Apparate or walk back and forth.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yep, it's definitely about time. Whatever they do, they'll work it all out. They're too important to each other to let this relationship dissolve.
Great update, totally worth the wait. It was so good of Hermione to go to the Minister and make him see reason. I hope Severus and Hermione work out a way to see each other after he leaves Hogwarts.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
I'm sure they'll figure out something.
Good for Hermione! It helps that she knew the law, and had the conviction of of her belief in Severus to be able to convince Kingsley to do the right thing by Severus. And it must have taken a lot of courage for her to do this knowing that he might leave Hogwarts as soon as he could. I'm so happy that finally they were able to tell each other how they felt and that Severus said he wanted to stay long enough for Minerva to be able to find a replacement for him. This way he can work out just what he will do when he leaves Hogwarts, and they can figure out a way to be able to see each other often."She smiled at him before he took her mouth captive again, blissfully giving in to his every whim." I gotta tell you, girl, that kiss was something special. *sigh* Now it's time for them to start working on "his every whim."Great chapter, m'dear! Just wonderful. Beth
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Thanks, Beth! Hermione's never shied away when she has a cause to fight for. She did what was right and convinced Kingsley to do the same.Yes, finally they are together! Now on to happily ever after, right?
Enjoyable so far. Albus is a hoot even if it is only his portrait talking...
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
LOL. We'll see some more of him. What's a meddlesome coot without lots of exposure.
He is very hard on himself, he survived but is in so much pain. Could he have survivor's guilt?
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
I'm sure that's a big part of it. He has such a dark past, and has had to hide so much, that it's all come crashing down on him now.
Why the supervision? If you are pardoned or cleared then there should not be a punishment. All well, I'm sure it's for the story's flow and content...
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
You know, the Ministry is still a mess at this point. There's a lot of mistrust and Severus' past has made them nervous. I think it would be typical of them to clear him yet set boundaries.
Love how she steamrolled Kingsley! Hermione for Minister, I say! :)
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
LOL, not sure if she'd enjoy that job.
Finally! He gets the girl and his freedom. Life is good for Severus Snape! Awesome chappie, Deb.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it. Freedom never tasted so sweet.
So happy they told each other how they felt, I hope they work things out so they can continue to see each other.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
That would definitely be ideal. :)
Oh, that was so beautiful! A truly wonderful chapter :-)
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Thank you so much!
Oh yeah, this is angst-a-licious. Exactly what this chickie needs right now. Thanks for posting. Much Love ~ Me.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
I thought it might click with you! LOL Much love right back.
yay! a new story by my deb! life is good! great begining. smoochies forever! (me blowing smoochies)
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yes indeedy. Hopefully, the next chapter will be up soon. Thanks! And kisses right back.
You're off to a great start, DJ. I can feel the anger, hear the sarcasm. I hope your Hermione is up for a challange.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Oh, she is. Isn't she always? And she'll need to be strong, because he bites hard when he's cornered. Thanks
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
!
Oh, poor Severus, thinking that Hermione was marrying Ron. He's right, she's too good for Ron :-)Update soon!!
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
LOL, she definitely is. At least he found out quickly that things weren't what he thought.
This looks quite promising! I think Snape and an Auror teaching Defence is a brilliant combination, and I hope Severus will come around to see it. He can be much more efficient demonstrating "in real life", and if that Auror is someone who was in the Order they're likely to be more permissive of him. :)
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
That's true, but even if the Auror is someone Severus is acquainted with, I don't think he'll like it one bit. The Auror will only be there sporadically, but Severus very well may lose a good opportunity if he constantly is negative about it.
I can't wait to see where this is going! I love the set-up you've got here. Please update soon! Much Love ~ Me.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Heh, I'm glad you found this one. It will be a roller coaster of a ride for poor Severus as he learns to live without being a spy.
