I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Grrr, I agree with Severus, the Ministry's decision is intolerable. Poor man, sacrifice your life for a good cause and look what it got him. I've always wondered if someone could use the Elder Wand against the wand owner and if LV had no choice but use Nagini against Severus? I'm guessing LV thought he couldn't use it because it would work against him just like it did with Harry in the end. Wonderful start, I can't wait to see what happens next.

It's typical of the Ministry to do such a thing. They can't recognize valor when it's staring them in the face. I hadn't thought of that angle with Nagini, but I'm sure you're right. Voldie looked at the black and white of every situation. It took Harry to realize that you didn't need to die to take control of the wand. That never crossed Voldie's mind. So, I bet he would have gone along with that thought about trying to destroy the 'owner' of the Elder wand.
“I’m Severus Snape, Potions professor and all-around angry git.”“Nice to meet you, all-around git. I’m Hermione Granger, Transfiguration professor and insensitive do-gooder.”I love those lines... LOL.

Thank you!!
good he was able to let some of it go, it looks like he and Hermione can work it out eventually
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
I think they can. He's made a huge step here and it will be a bit easier to deal with from now on, until he's whole again. Hmm, was he ever whole before?
Hermione is better than any therapist. At last he's getting over the past, giving himself forgiveness and hopefully moving forward. Go, DJ.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
He wouldn't trust anyone else with such emotions. Even the best of therapists wouldn't have been able to get him to this point. Luckily Hermione is around.
Wonderful update, glad to see them working on their relationship. It's good to see Severus letting go of his past.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yes, it is. He definitely needs to do that.
Ohhh, how nice that they are finally able to put all the unpleasantness behind them and start over as friends.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yes. It's taken a while, but they can finally start over.
I'm so glad to see that Severus and Hermione are able to start again. They've been so miserable without each other, but it's too bad it took Hermione nearly dying for Severus to see that.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yep. He's a bit obtuse sometimes. He needs that clunk over the head to wake him up.
very nice story and love red. Hope to see her again some future chapter.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
We should see her again... in the next chapter!
I'm so glad you're back, I really enjoy this story.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Thanks! I'm glad I'm back too. :)
whew, I'm glad they worked that out!
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yes, we're all breathing a sigh of relief!
Hallelujah! I could have understood if Hermione had just written Severus off, but I glad she decided to go talk to him to see what he had to say for himself. Now I wonder what will the future will hold for them? Please, Severus, don't screw this up!Great chapter, Deb! I can't wait to see what adventures you have in store for them in coming chapters.Beth

Hopefully Severus has learned his lesson. He's stubborn, not dumb. But then again, he does do dumb things sometimes.
Right back on the right tracks.. hmmm now what? hehe
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yeah! Now what? Mwahahahaha. You'll see.
Yay! They did it! :)
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
I know! Took them long enough. Thanks, sunny.
Ah, relief, indeed. Confession is good for the soul, and now the healing may begin, and whatever else you have in mind for the pair, DJ. Great chapter.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
That's really what the essence is here, isn't it? Healing. Let the healing begin!
Good to see Snape take two steps forward. Of course, there will be the inevitable one step back, but forgiveness is achieved slwoly. With the desire to forgive, it can me done.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Yes, it won't be easy, but he can do it if he keeps working at it.
Catching up after all these months. and it's finished! I had to stop and review, although I wanted to rush off to the next chapter. Now they are friends again, maybe they can get rid of Umbridge. She strikes me as the type who always comes up on top.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
I agree with you. Umbridge is definitely out for herself. It's nice that they can finally be friends, though.
Luna is going to be a great addition, I think for Hermione. Maybe even Severus? Poor Severus, when will he ever believe that Hermione cares for him. I wished he would come out of this denial, because it's obvious that he is attracted to her. Look forward to see how things go.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
He's not really really ready to believe that Hermione might care for him. He's had so much disappointment and examples of people only caring for him to serve a purpose, that he can't wrap his mind around her simple friendship.Luna is wonderful and will be a great friend to Hermione, and maybe even Severus, like you said. :)
Man this story is one heck of a rollercoaster ride. One minute I'll be at the top smiling, then next straight to the bottom fighting back tears.Roiling emotions aside, I'm enjoying your indepth charactarization of Severus, I feel it's very spot on. He always struck me as sort of the self-loathing type, and most stories tend to simply breeze over that fact. And I can't thank you enough for the first chapter explaining how he survived. I've gotten into several arguments with my brother of how implausible it was for a POTIONS MASTER to die the way he did. It was made obvious that he was one of the best, so is it really hard to believe that he wouldn't have some sort of antidote? I always thought his death was fairly insulting, and to be honest it totally turned me off the series when I heard about it. So again, MUCH Thanks... and update soon, I really wanna get back to the top of that rollercoaster. :)
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
This story really doesn't breeze over Severus' penchant for self-loathing, does it? I'm flattered that it's brought such a range of emotions from you. I obviously agree with you about his views on himself. Unfortunately, he's had no one really in his corner. Even Dumbledore had his motives. How could you trust what he said to be the full truth, especially after his loathing of Severus when he came to him for help with Lily. Who can blame him for not believing in himself, poor guy. I think your saying that Severus' death was insulting is spot on. I don't think I've thought of it in exactly that way, but yes indeed, it certainly was. JKR just needed to tie up loose ends, and that was one she didn't want to have to deal with post war, I bet. But it truly makes no sense. It's not like Voldie'd never used the snake to attack/kill before. Severus obviously didn't want to die, or he wouldn't have drawn his wand at Voldie or struggled with the snake. He'd have just stood there and accepted his fate. So, yeah. Severus knew that was an option. He would have been prepared.Am working on your new rollercoaster ride. Not sure if you'll be up or down by the end of it. :)
I'm surprised that he didn't say something about her referring to witches and wizards who are of age as "little children" in his reply to Derwood.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
He should have, huh? But really, that probably wouldn't have gotten her into any more trouble than what he did write, and his being a 'fugitive' probably did nothing for his case. I'm sure Derwood will refrain from sending Hippo woman again, though.
I hate Umbridge. Can we do something evil to her? I love Luna. I'm glad Hermione does not have to keep separate from all her friends.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
Not quite sure what will happen to Umbridge. She'll probably cut off her head to spite her face at some point. It's just not soon enough. As for Luna, I too love her. She's a wonderful character and will be a good friend to Hermione.
Dolores needs to be taught a lesson. Set a falcon onto him! :)
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
That would be the ultimate punishment, wouldn't it?
Oh that damn Umbridge, I just hate her. Can't someone stop her. It is terrible that Severus has to have a glorified babysitter.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
It is terrible, really. And Umbridge just wanted to stick her nose in there, I'd bet. Too bad she's still given creedence. Things will get a little better once the week is over. He'll not be watched 24/7 then.
Good grief having to deal that pink nightmare! I hope he never sees that toad again. I felt Hermione's letter was heart felt but Sevuers has a lot of trouble trusting people course I can't blame with all the crap that he had delt with over the years. I do hope He does talk to her and clear the air.
Response from debjunk (Author of Recovery)
He's definitely got a reason to be suspicious. He needs to give her a chance, though, before he loses her friendship. Unfortunately, he can't see that quite yet.
