WOW. That was fantastic. I absolutely loved your story and cannot wait for more, because it is definitely not over. I love your hermione and your snape and there relationship actually makes sense for that of a teacher and student. While I obviously cannot wait (i hope there is something to wait for) to see their relationship develop. It is so fantastic that you did not make them jump each other in a totally unrealistic way, you have stuck beautifully to your characters and your story is wonderful. Great work, cannot wait for the next half.

I have loved stories where they jump straight into a relationship as much as the next person, but I really approached this story with the question of, 'what might have happened if there really was something between them in the books?', and then tried to get everything else to fit around that.I'll be back with the next part asap! THAT'S IT? THAT'S THE END?!?!?!?! I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed this story - all the way through. You have blended canon and dialogue quotes very well and created a very rich story. I liked the kiss between Severus and Hermione as he tricked her into taking the potion, and in my heart hoped that some of the potion made it into his blood stream as well. Hermione's cool demenor in dealing with Bill is what most of us in the Health/Medical fields go through - exactly as you've described it. It's a calm, do what must be done, rate in order of priority, calmness. The break down always comes after - when everything is calm. Then I turn into a wreck, cry and grieve - even for those I don't know. LIfe of the ER.well done. I look forward to the sequeal.

Thank you for yet another lovely review. :)I always wondered how the students who took Felix Felicis before the battle felt--when Harry took it he felt all happy and content, but they took it and then started fighting for their lives. It must have been a completely different set of feelings.Thanks again for all of your encouragement and support.

Great, fantastic fic. I for one am looking forweard to this sequel. I hope you've gotten sufficient urging from your many fans. And if not, I hope I'm the one to push it over the edge and make it a reality: Write it! You've given us a terrific way of seeing events from Hermione's point of view. I'd love to see what you can do with the Deathly Hallows! Hope we don't have to wait for long....

Many thanks for these wonderful chapters.I cannot believe that you have never written before.I had started your story (I know b/c I left a review for a couple), then I must have started new stories and forgot to keep reading yours. I found it again several days ago, and it was a delight to be able to read and read and read. Then when I saw your note that it was coming to an end I was horrified. I thought it would naturally carry on to the end of book 7. However, I was somewhat depressed knowing what was coming (Sev's miserable end). So yes, please keep writing it, and as everyone else does I'd appreciate it if you deviated from canon enough to let Severus live. Reading your chapters allowed me to experience what I have always wished for when I finish a spectacular book (or in this case books); to continue to dwell in the story with more and more detail provided by the author. In this case I think your telling was masterful, your Severus is very much in character. I may just go back and read the whole thing again while I wait for the continuance. I hope you meet your RL deadline and have many ideas percolating when you are ready to pick up the lives of SS and HG.

You are very, very welcome. I've written non-fiction papers, for school and stuff, but I've never written fiction. I found it very different--both more enjoyable and more challenging.I really appreciate your comments on the story. I tried very hard not to contradict canon--either in characterisation or in plot details, and I hoped that it would seem like a different view on the same world rather than an entirely different book.Thanks for your review. I will be back with the sequel ASAP!:)

Wow!! Not as much romance as I'd perhaps hoped from the character pairing given, but this is absolutely brilliant work. The depth of the characters is incredible, given that JKR gave so little of the characters you chose to focus on. The editing was well-done, also. The little things that you put together and the details of the story are brilliant. Hermione has always been the character I related to, and I developed more of an interest in Snape's character as I grew up (having read the first three books nearly a decade ago, at age 13). I just can't put my thoughts in to words at the details and lines you pull together in this work. Keep up the incredible work, and I hope to read your sequel soon!

Thank you very much! I also identified primarily with HG, and there are moments in the books where she is given very short shrift. The geeky girl with big teeth and more books than friends? Fantastic - especially for a first fic!! This was a great ending. Again, your ability to weave the stories together is amazing - it's a difficult thing to do. You truly have a natural gift... Iam so looking forward to the sequel. This is one of the best HP fics that I've read-seriously!

Oh wow, I just read this whole fic and it is absolutely lovely. You didn't force the intimacy between Hermione and Severus to happen too fast; and that kiss was very well played. Good luck with RL and I simply can't wait for the next portion of the saga. Thanks for sharing such a great fic.

I loved the kiss. Great thought, great description. I saw see it before my mind's eye as if it were a movie scene - time coming temporarily to a halt, the noise around them silenced, the two of them looking at each other, realizing that Snape's action gave them something more to think about than just sharing the last sip of lucky potion.I do not mind the pieces of JKR dialog; they were were smoothly woven into your own writing, and since you´re basically describing the same story and partly the same particular scenes, only from a different person´s point of view (but what a big difference does that make!), you could hardly rewrite people´s direct speech in those places where your tale coincides with JKR´s.Very glad to hear that the story will continue!!

I think for this particular model of story that I've used in Phoenix Song and will continue with in Phoenix Tears, quoting dialogue is pretty much a necessity. I worry more about repeating scenes at all than about repeating the dialogue per se.Thank you for the lovely review, I'll be back with the sequel as soon as I can. :)

WHAT?! END?! Well, I know it is the "end" but you are going to continue, aren't you? Please say yes? I really enjoyed the story. My only criticism is that I didn't like the use of JKR's dialog. I feel that since you were telling your own story and frankly, your dialog skills are pretty good, you should have wriiten your own in those scenes. My pet peeve in "re-telling " tales I guess is a use of JKR's dialog. Their use in your tale wasn't terrible, though since you didn't do much of it. When you continue and you MUST continue, write it wholly on your terms without her dialog. IMHO, of course. Do what you must just write it. NOW! And post quickly!

I definitely am going to continue, have no fear on that front.I probably will keep using sections of her dialogue, though, I'm afraid to say. The challenge I set myself was to write a story that didn't contradict the events of canon and that used the odd elipses in JKR's work to try and construct a plausible counter narrative. As a consequence, it's sometimes important to my story to use exactly the same words. Besides, if I were re-writing her bits of the tale, the characters would make different decisions a lot of the time ;)Thanks for the review; I'm delighted that you enjoyed the story.
