Reviews for A Kind Of Magic
"If you insist on pushing her love away, you will become a self-fulfilling prophecy!"Smartest thing that twinkly-eyed f***er ever said!As for Snape's teaching approach! LOVE IT! Muahaha!/M
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Thank you my love! I think he loves teaching DADA, whereas Potions was a chore for him because it was yet another reminder of Lily.
You will learn how to dispel Dementors, guard against Grindylows, and even vie with Vampires. - fabulous! I can totally envision Snape giving such an alliterative speech :) Thanks for the update.
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Thank you so much for reviewing! I took my inspiration from his fabulous Potions speech, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
I was wondering if all those terms were real. Funny how her first gaze into the crystal ball probably produced more truth than a thousand glances by Trelawney. Still, I love Trelawney for her eccentricities. I think the poison is metaphorical. He's killing himself with his grief. But, I might be wrong. Either way, I'm glad she knows and can now try to do something about it. Not that Severus will let her.
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
It was fun writing Trelawney I have to admit! And yes, the poison is metaphorical. He is killing himself. But what can Sarah do about it?
Interesting. She needs to find out more. :)
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
She does indeed!
There's poison running through my veins ... sorry ... What is it? Self-hatred? His Dark past? Guess I'll have to wait and see.Have a nice Sunday, star girl.
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
All will become clear, my dear. Have a nice Sunday too, Morgaine x
What a tought day for Sarah -- Too bad Sev's not around to help here with her "pepper-up" potion!
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
I don't think he needs a potion to "pepper up", if you get my drift ;)
How odd that I found myself enjoying Sybil's teaching most of all. Is the black poision his hate and self loathing? Poor man. Can there be hugs soon?
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
I enjoyed writing Sybill! I think she finally got her confidence back in her abilities after she was vindicated about the whole HP thing. The poor man indeed. He needs lots and lots of hugs, but he has to stop pushing the one person who can provide them away.
WHAT is this?? You leave us with such a frightening cliffy and debate the terms you used?? Great terms, admittedly, and a wonderful first school day, with an excellent description of Trelawney... but is that an excuse for such a terrifying end of a chapter? Please, do hurry up and let us know what happened--or will happen, since I'm not quite sure of the timeline she witnessed.BTW, Sarah seems to get less homework than the regular students: not a single essay?
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Apologies about the cliffie! Hope you will come back for more :) It was only Sarah's first lesson. She'll get plenty of essays soon enough ;)
Idiot man! Good that she stayed until he became physical; he cannot dismiss her this easily.
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Idiot man, but deeply wounded, too. Will Sarah have the strength to fight for him?
Response from Bettina (Reviewer)
Of course she will!I mean, you would not let us despair, or WOULD YOU!? Sarah has the advantage of lots of new things to learn, which gives her some distraction. Severus is back to his old, miserable life with more time than he wants for brooding. I fear for all Ravenclaw students! Maybe Flitwick has to confront him soon?
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
I fear for all students, not just the Ravenclaws :) Poor man. He has such issues with intimacy. We'll find out more of that in the next chapter.
Severus, as always, is his own worst enemy! Great Chapter again (I'm loving having another chance to re-read this wonderful story!) :-)
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Naww thanks
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
, you're so kind!
I knew forgiveness couldnt come in one chapter but I had hoped! Oh the suffering will continue wont it? ))))sniffle
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
It won't be easy for either of them, sadly.
Dang it. He's always doing what's 'best' for everybody else. I hope he comes to his senses soon, and that Sarah helps him to do it!He was quite hurtful to her. I can imagine her taking a bit of time to get over it.
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Yes, he was hurtful. Question is, will Sarah now give up on him like Lily did all those years ago?
Response from debjunk (Reviewer)
Well, I certainly hope not. That wouldn't be saying much for her character, would it?
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Severus can be caustic... Lily knew him for years and pushed him away, and she was (supposedly) a kind and brave girl...
Ooouch --- don't leave us this way! It's time for a reconcilliation! Please!
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Severus seems to lash out when hurt, and he doesn't believe he deserves to be loved.
Its going to have to be one hellva an olive branch. If I might suggest she deliver it naked? That might sooth the way quite a bit!! :D
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
What a brilliant idea! We know how distracted he gets ;-)
I think in Severus' case Sarah needs to take the whole tree (or should that be bush in the case of olives?!), not just a branch!! :-)
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
You are so right,
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
! LOL
Great chapter... I am so looking forward to her meeting w/ Severus!
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Thanks so much! So glad you're enjoying this.
Sounds like he chose her things very carefully. :)
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
The dear man :)
A good update! Who decided on the robes for every-day; was it maybe Severus, fearing he'd stare at her too much? Severus made the delivery complete to be done with it. He re-directed her to Minerva for anything amiss. I'm very much afraid he'll not take Sarah's thanks well. Not well at all, I think. What will Sarah feel like at her workplace now? It might be a very modern library, maybe the home of more DVDs and flashy comics than decent books? Can she value both? I wonder: Divination is a facultative subject that starts in third year. Is Sarah admitted to the OWLs class?
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
I think the use of robes was more so she did not stand out like a sore thumb as a Muggle, but yes, judging by Snape's reaction he would have a hard time not staring at her anyway ;)As for your prediction, well the man is stubborn, that's all I can say.I think Sarah has romantic notions about being a librarian, which is why she chose the profession, and Hogwarts library seems to fulfil her criteria of a "perfect" library. I am sure she and Irma will get on like a house on fire.Sarah is indeed fast-tracked into her OWL year for DIvination, but she will continue to study seperately from the students.
It takes a brave woman to carry an olive branch to Severus Snape. You go girl!!/M
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
A brave woman indeed! x
And now A.D. asks Severus for a talk and blows it? No, please not?!
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
I'm saying nothing *whistles*
I suppose that was the least Albus could do. Can I expect a naked fandango dance in the future then??
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Yep, you have to watch Albus! As for the fandango, hehe!
I think the ball is firmly in Severus' court. it was his memory and he needs to be the one to explain what she saw. Although its quite typical for him to mop about and wallow in the suffering !!! mawwwwwa
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
Severus? Open up? He's a Capricorn and an Occlumens. No chance!
The suffering will be long and protracted wont it? How fast are you updating anyway? I find my mood has sunk along with Sarah and Severus.
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
It will be tough for them both. I update as quickly as the tpp queue allows-the story is written, just needs to be posted. Keep the faith ;-)
oh no )))sniffle
Response from star_girl (Author of A Kind Of Magic)
The toilet icon is making me giggle!
