I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)
Reviews for Time's Treasure
Wow...Lucius as power hungry as ever. Hmmm....Loved the reunion!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thanks! Lucius didn't learn much, did he?
Ok, I was wondering how the loop would resolve itself. Awesome!!!!!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the resolve. The Star Trek geek in me comes shining through in this chapter, doesn't it? Those time travel/Alternate universe episodes are my all time favorites!
I'm glad she's back, but is she going to get a memory dump, or a long story from Severus? That really did make me happy.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
No memory dump... per se. Definitely some explaining from Severus... and Harry. And a trip down memory lane. Some things she'll just have to experience and be surprised about. The hard part will be to not look surprised, as very few people know what has happened to the Hermione they all knew and loved.
I hope Lucius will listen to reason... After all, he loved Professor Granger way back when. Maybe he'll listen to her again now? >.< I loved this chapter, it just warmed the heartstrings on this cold, cold day. ^_^
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thanks. You're so right, he did love Professor Granger. We'll see how he perceives her now, but it'll take a couple of chapters. Hermione needs to stop her head from spinning first!
AMAZING!!! I've been waiting for her to get back! Lovely reunion, I can't wait for mor!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thanks! It's definitely about time. Poor Severus has had to wait so long!
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYYYYY!!!!! :DAnd that's all I have to say! :D
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
LOL. I take it you're happy?
Response from hermione278 (Reviewer)
Yup! :D
OMG! So I managed to squeeze in reading this update from my cell phone while in Florida and started squealing like the fan-girl that I am. OMG! She's coming back!!!!!!!! I'm so happy. Listening to her talk about how Ron is such a douche was really hurting my heart. She needs to be with Severus already!!!! I know that her coming back will mean pretty much the end of this tale, but I'm hurting for Severus here! He's been so patient waiting for her, I just want them to be together already! I can't wait to read whats next!!! I'll talk to you soon! Much Love ~ Karen
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Oh, it won't be the end... yet. We've got a while to go. You're so sweet, reading my fic while on vacation! I have to admit, I sometimes do that when I'm away. But I try not to do it too much, as I am away to be with my family and all. I've just put the next chapter into the queue, so it should be up in a few days. Hope your trip is fab, and that you have a safe return.
I don't review often, but I had to tell you how much I love this story. It's making me cry! I mean that in a good way- but poor Severus! And poor Hermione, stuck with that ass Ron! You'd better apologize to them this instant, young lady! Hopefully by having a good breakup scene between Hermione and the Weasel- and a wonderful reunion between Sev and Hermione!Hmm, I wonder if Ron is the one doing the cheating? Seems to me that usually when a man (or woman for that matter) is constantly accusing their partner of cheating on them, they are the one doing the cheating. Something to do with a guilty conscience, perhaps? Or insecurity about the relationship? Ron never struck me as an "abusive" character, although he certainly IS insecure. And maybe deep down, he knows Hermione is too good for him, or that he won't be able to keep her in a relationship because of their huge differences, so he's always terrified of losing her. Of course this would cause him to imagine that she could be cheating on him every second he's not there to watch her. Idiot.Well that's enough of that. Please don't keep us (or Sev) waiting too long for the return of His Hermione! It's torture, I tell you! The scenes with that doll are so sweet and heartbreaking! Also I am curious to see how you will work out that whole time traveling/paradox thingy.I really don't hate Ron- but he is SOOO annoying! And I think he is all wrong for Hermione- honestly, what WAS Jo thinking?? I will never forgive her for her treatment of Severus either! Thank goodness we have fanfiction!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thank you so much! I'm honored that you liked this so well that it inspired you to leave a review. I've already apologized to Hermione and Severus. They're still not speaking to me until they're back together, though. (I really can't blame them.)I think Ron has a definite insecurity problem and that's what fuels all of this foolish jealousy. Instead of being reassured with Hermione's love, he's so afraid he'll lose her that he's gone ahead and destroyed their relationship.I don't hate Ron either. I think he's pretty funny actually. But just the thought of him with Hermione makes me cringe. I really can't see that relationship ever working out to be long lasting. They're just too different. We'll shoot right to Hermione's return in the next chapter, so you won't have long to wait, except for however long it takes to get through the validation process. I'll probably upload it on Monday, or maybe tomorrow if I'm really feeling industrious. Thanks!
-Happy Dance- (dances around dining room table). I'm so glad that Hermione returns from the past next chapter. I'm glad that you skipped ahead two years, I wouldn't be able to wait much longer before the fun started.Looking forward to the next chapter =)
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Yay, a happy dance! She needs to get back pronto, doesn't she?
Hermione will be back with the next updateyou promise??????
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I promise! Thanks, hon!
Oh the torment that Severus has been going through. I loved reading about Teddy grabbing his nose and then complaining when Severus handed him back to dad/Remus. The dialogue between Remus and Severus was cute and in a way he made a big – huge step forward, he called Lupin – Remus!
It’s so odd to think of Severus attending Sirius and Petunia’s wedding! Severus getting a long – ok, being civil to each other! Oh, my, gods! That’s a huge change!
I still can’t get over Neville taking advanced Potions. Advanced Potions! And Severus being nice to Neville is still a shocker… but I’m so glad to see it.
And his relationship with Harry is still going well. I think that’s really great.
I was so surprised that Severus offered Hermione an apprenticeship, not that she didn’t deserve one or that she isn’t capable, but her assessment of her abilities was fairly spot on – she doesn’t have an intuitiveness for Potions, or the inventiveness and recklessness to experiment. He only asked her to have her near him because he couldn’t stand to be apart. I wonder if Hermione will figure that out or not?
And the way she lets Ron degrade her, accuse her and hurt her self-esteem – she does deserve better, but why is she so blind?
I am dying to see more Lucius – you hardly have any of him in this story now. The whole reason for her to go back in time is what? gone? I am waiting to see what is so deastic that she would need to go back for a year? Hmmm…? And if Hermione doesn’t go back in time, what? There will be two of them? What a paradox.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thank you for the lovely, long review! I just can't get away from babies and that nose. My youngest, when a baby herself, took a shine to my middle girl's nose and sucked on it and grabbed at it. It was really the cutest thing I've ever seen. So, I had to incorporate it in this story. I think Severus' nose would definitely be a baby magnet.Severus and the Marauders... being civil. Yet another amazing time change! You know, about the apprenticeship, I think what Severus said to Hermione when he first suggested it had a lot of merit. (Of course I do, I wrote it!) I'm a musician, as you probably know from my bio. As a singer, I need to put a lot of emotion into my singing. As a youth in college, my teacher once explained to me that as a singer gains experiences in life, they are able to emote better. It's hard to sing a song about having a lover put a ring on your finger when you're a single girl, just dating for fun. But when you've been through that experience for yourself, you can understand it better and portray it better. Not to say that a single girl couldn't sing that song, they'd just have an easier job interpreting it with experience. I've found that my entire life experience has led me to be a much more intuitive singer. Anyway, long story made even longer... I think it's that way with Hermione and potions. As a youth she was always eager to please, but turned to her books as her bible. With life experience, I think she could learn to trust herself and be an adept Potions master. I know Severus seemed to be born with his ability, but I bet even he took a little time to season into the amazing master he is now.Lucius. I've purposely kept him out of view so you wouldn't know what to expect from him. You'll find out everything in the next chapter. We'll definitely be going in the paradox direction here. Bwahahahaha!
I would think Hermione would not put up with an abusive boyfriend, and that is how you are writing Ron. The set up here is for an explosive and dangerous break up. I hope that isn't what happens. Oh, well. I can't wait for Severus's Hermione to return either. I like their relationship much better.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
He is very abusive, but only emotionally. He doesn't hurt Hermione physically in any way, but that doesn't make his abuse any easier. Severus is right, he's destroying the spirit that she has.As we won't actually see their breakup, I can tell you this: Hermione finally comes to her senses and breaks with him. It's not terribly explosive, and Ron doesn't become a stalker, although his pride is hurt. He will live under the delusion that Hermione will come crawling back to him... it's just a matter of time.
Poor Severus, he puts up with so much. There is solace in the fact that that his quality of life has been so much better since he met Hermione, we can't forget that. Also, that was quite the cliffhanger you left us hanging at, I am so looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
It was a bit of a cliffie, wasn't it. Although it wasn't really meant to be, it just naturally heads in that direction. He has changed, and he's so much better for it. I think he'd wait a lifetime if he needed to. Luckily, it was only... ONLY... twenty-five years!
You are so mean to Sev, Deb! :P
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I know. I'm terrible. He's really gone through so much. Even I wonder how he does it. Oh yeah, I make him do it! But really, wouldn't he do this? If he can pine for Lily for that long, a woman who certainly didn't deserve his devotion, than I think it not far fetched that he could hold on to a love this strong for 25 years. That's one of the many things I find amazing about Severus Snape.
swinish ron! sometimes guys who are that jealous are looking around themselves. at least we know it has a happy ending. thanks so much, my deb! (me blowing kisses)
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
And he very well might be. Or maybe it's just that incredilbly insecure part of him that we see throughout canon. It's just gone crazy in this twist of time. But, as you said, happiness is around the corner.
Oh what a good chapter! I love how Severus is pining for Hermione and is counting the days till she 'returns'.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I know I would do the same if I were him. Of course, I'm not sure if I could hold out that long. He's incredibly devoted.
I am very happy that the circle will be closing in the next chapter, but I also am a bit afraid that things will have changed so much that she will not be the same person. Will she see Severus as just a close friend? Will she even feel motivated to go back in time this time? Oh this is a very tangled web. I look forward the seeing how you connect these and other dots. JoAnne
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Oh, all very good questions. Sorry that you'll have to wait for the answers. Things do seem to be leading to a different Hermione, don't they? But I can say this. The past is the past, and as Severus realized, it did happen the way he remembers it. Now to just make all of that fit... Bwahahahaha!
Oohhhhh, poor Severus! I'm so sad for him--really heartwrenching how long he's had to wait! Excellent chapter, now I'm even more impatient for the next!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Yeah, it was all just one big tease, wasn't it? But it was necessary. Now everything will make sense as the story continues. I'll hurry, I'll hurry.
Oh goodness, you have me sobbing. Imagine having to wait for so long? It's torture, pure and simple....
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
It really is! Hopefully, Hermione's return will make up for most of that. Sorry to have you sobbing. Well, not really. It made me sad, so I was hoping for a similar reaction. Yup, I'm evil like that.
Oh, hurry with the next chapter! I'm so impatient, I don't know if i can wait!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I know, I'm sorry, but you'll have to. I'm grumbling too!
Oh...why will she find the need to go back? Hmmmm?Well I can't wait for the update to that one.Great as always!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Well... maybe she won't? All will soon be revealed!
You should have let him strangle Ron. Hurry with her return.....
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I think we'd have all liked to see that, but he's right. Hermione would have been mad. As for the return... I'm a workin' on it! It'll be up soon, I promise.
Oh you are EVIL, simply EVIL!!! Bwahahahaa!!!Answers, real answers in the next chapter? IDK if I can wait that long!!!But why is it that half the time Ron makes me want to seriously hurt him? He deserves a good hexing for acting like a complete jealous prat and trashing Hermione's self-esteem in the process. I just know that marrying Ron would end up in a life of loneliness and misery for Hermione ... if he's so far gone that he's even accusing Hermione of shagging Harry, then as her husband Ron would most likely end up making her a virtual prisoner in her own home, isolating her from everyone she knows. And that's no way to live. Hermione needs to dump his sorry arse, posthaste!!!Great update, Ms. Evil!!!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
That's me!You're so right. Hermione will finally, after what I'm sure will be numerous repetitions of that same conversation, come to that realization herself.Ron definitely needs some good hexes. Or some Hermione wrath. She really needs to get angry, doesn't she?I'll get the next chapter up as soon as possible.
No need to apologize for the long Ron infatuation. Sometimes, women who can accomplish anything try longer than is reasonable trying to fix things that can't. Somehow failure isn't an option (I speaketh from experience). In your characterization, it works. But, I do look forward to her return.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I agree with you. Women like to fix things. When they're in a bad relationship, they sometimes are willing to explain the bad away. I think it's too bad that Hermione has let him walk all over her for so long. She will come to her senses. Between Severus' advice and what will certainly come from Harry, she'll wake up and see that Won-won is a lost cause.I, too have a bit of experience with sticking with something for longer than most thought wise. It has, fortunately, worked out for the best. The long wait is finally... almost... over. The next chapter just needs to get past my editing and the queue.
ARRRGG!!! You write so well, its a pleasure to read. Now kill this crap with Ron already!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thank you! You made my day. Consider the crap with Ron killed. Done, over-with, nada, broken up. I can only stand so much of them anyway, and this went on far too long!
