What would happen if Severus found out what his life would be like as a Death Eater before he got the Dark Mark? What would happen if Hermione was the one to tell him. AU SSHG A time turner fic.

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

The pensieve thing was just a bit too weird for me. But I really like Petunia and Sirius cuddling. I'm not sure why I find it so adorable.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I think Petunia's good for him. She can keep him on an even keel.

Oh I do like Petunia and Sirius. There's a much better combination. And I like this new look for Petunia. But history is repeating itself with Severus and Harry. Hopefully things will work out right again. I wonder if/when anyone will realize he's the HBP.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Of course, Petunia and Sirius would only work here!
Did we see the doll before? I don't remember mention of christmas earlier. Dandy reinterpretation of this year. And though he's a pain in the arse, saving Sirius was probably a good measure. Yea! Toad is gone!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Check out my companion piece... TT: Yule Edition for the introductions to the doll, and the necklaces, if you've gotten that far.
The dogs prank was fantastic. I really enjoyed that. And Occulmency lessons are so much better when they have a solid foundation of a relationship to build on. This is perfect.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
LOL. Thanks! Too bad no one took that prompt. I was tempted to do it myself, but... I thought I'd give someone else a chance!
I'm so happy that Lucius has stayed faithful to Hermione's friendship. It verifies that Hermione really did accomplish her mission in the past. My only worries are that if Lucius is not a monster in this timeline, what incentive does present/future Hermione have to return to Severus' childhood. These are different timelines.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
You're so right! These really are different timelines. And, although Lucius has changed... he's still a monster.
As much as I enjoyed the dance, I think the duelling scene was much better.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
There's just something about a good duel, isn't there?
I'm curious about the point of this chapter and how it'll play in the coming chapters.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I assume you meant with the Strengthening Solution. It'll show up again. Thanks!
Response from ApollinaV (Reviewer)
Yes, it seems so randomly tossed in there. And I expected that since you didn't explain how it related to the story immediately, that was going to pop up again.
Ach! The pinning is just so sad. But this chap was also filled with marvelous humor that kept it so nicely balanced. Well done!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I don't think Severus would spend all his time pining away. But I'm sure when he's feeling a bit lonely, or whatever, he gets a bit sad.
Very nice. I was worried. I gotta admit with all the niceties I was worried about how much of an opportunity there would be for any future-Hermione whatnot, but at least the script is progressing true enough.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Severus and Hermione's relationship will grow as a teacher/student one for a while. A long while. But at least he has his dreams!
How sweet! You seem to be mopping up JKR left and right. Now maybe I'll get a decent epilogue...
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Oh, you will... but it won't be for a while.
Unexpected and sweet. And it's nice to see Severus not so bitter as he started to sound.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I think it took him a while to settle down. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes, let me tell you!
Response from ApollinaV (Reviewer)
There had to be some kind of balance between the two. He's not evil, snarky spy. But he's not light and fluffy OOC either. You've tweaked. Makes me think of the old jazz song, What a Difference a Day Makes.
Now this I've got to see. I'm so curious as to whether Severus' talk with Petunia will be to Harry's benefit or detriment. I am so hooked on this fic.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
*Blushes* Thanks! As you now know, Harry's life was a little better for it.
Bless you for following Severus. Just about ever timeturner fic cuts directly to their reunion. Thank you for keeping your pacing consistent.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thanks, AV! I really wanted to show all the changes. Things happen so subtley, but when you look back, it'll seem like a huge difference. It just wouldn't have flowed as nicely without in-depth detail of the 'past'.
Response from ApollinaV (Reviewer)
*nods* Baby steps will still get you there. And now that I've read a bit more I can confidently say it's not like you drew it out too much either.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Well, that's good. I tried to leave out anything redundant.
Crafty Hermione. Though I was nervous that Minerva wouldn't let them get off so easily. And it was a nice touch that she gave him the stirring rod that he has in the future, it almost makes me have hope that the Severus of the future is waiting for her.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Well, I can definitely tell you that he is.
I'm sure you've figured out by now that I read these updates as soon as they post but it's taken me five million years to finally post a review. Well, the reason I've been waiting so long is because I wanted you to be the recipient of my 300th review! Woo-Hoo! What a mile-stone and to be able to share it with you and this amazing story is frickin fabulous! This was such a great chapter, the memory sharing was perfect. I loved how the new Severus was finally able to see the old Severus and what Hermione had actually been talking about when she was in the past. Very well constructed and executed dear! Thanks for the update as usual and I'll talk to you laters. Much Love ~ Karen
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Three hundred, really? Wow! Thank you and everybody for such a fun milestone! I really loved having them see the past through the other's eyes. I think it will help to make them even closer and probably give some insight into their actions in the future. Thanks, Karen, as always, for your lovely words.
Yea! Hermione wises up, but I still worrt for whatever future. Yikes!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Yup, she's finally seen the light. FINALLY! Hopefully, it's not too late. And, as you said... what of the future?
Oh no! Whether she wants to or not those feelings are blossoming.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
The poor woman can't help herself. I know I wouldn't do any better!
Oh no Hermione, you are almost setting yourself up to be a Lily by keeping him away like that! And atta boy Severus! Way to protect her.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
You're right there. She could definitely become Lily II here if she's not careful.Severus is, and always will be, a knight in shining armor.
Fantastic kiss!Loving this. And it's so nice for once in a fic to have Hermione say, 'we can't do this.' Nice way to flip the script.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
That is a bit of a flip, isn't it? We usually have angsty, "I'm not worthy" Snape. Well, she's got a lot of concerns, but she'll never thing she's not worthy! So that's a good thing.
And they do flirt so well. I love how this develops!
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
They do, but is this really good for Severus, if Hermione is going to constantly run from him?
Lots of fun, I can see why Hermione was so mirthful and it's nice to see all of our favorite characters having a normal friend's night out.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Who would have thunk it, right?
Ah, so sweet---the reactions of the _now_ "real" Severus to the "old" Severus! I'm not so sure Robert Burns would say of this, if it "were" possible, that the ability to "see ourselves as others see us" is, indeed, a gift! Very realistic and true to the characters--both as they "were" and as you have made them to be what they "are" , now. (I like yours, better!--but the spice of knowing what "was" makes the sweetness of what "is" even better!)
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thank you! That's what I was hoping to achieve with this chapter. It's kind of a look back from where we came. I agree with you... in this case, it probably wasn't a gift. Well, I think I'm going to take that back. It is a gift to Severus to see what he could have become and the life he saved himself from. Bitter as it may have been to see what he was, he now has the gift of full understanding of what he could have been, and of how much Hermione must love him to look beyond all of that and find something worthwhile in him.
Sigh, in one era he's much older than her, and in the era, she's 5 years older than him. There's a world of difference and maturity between 17 and 22. It has me worried.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
I thought it would be fun to make her the older one for a bit. But there is a bit of an age difference here too. Not twenty years, but he's still quite young. Ultimately, I think it will help him to be mindful of their age difference when things are reversed.
Response from ApollinaV (Reviewer)
And I definitely look forward to reading that.
I don't think he wanted to be that man either. Truer words may never have been spoken before. Wow. I am so happy to have found this story. And I look forward to the slow build-up.
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
Thanks, AV. I truly don't think that Severus would have chosen that path had he known what it would have caused him to become. Who would truly want to end up in that state?
Response from ApollinaV (Reviewer)
*nods* That's why I can easily accept the OOCness from him for not being a snarling, snarky git. He's all soft and cute. But that makes sense for someone not yet jaded to the world.
Aw, Severus. Stop beating yourself up. No wait, go ahead. Then there will be more lovely scenes like this... Sigh! AV
Response from debjunk (Author of Time's Treasure)
He has a lot to think over and it's all quite bad. You can't blame him for being so... angsty.
Response from ApollinaV (Reviewer)
I like the angsty. The angsty is the best part.
