Seventh-year student Hermione Granger decides to marry the one eligible wizard who did not ask for her--the horrid but powerful Severus Snape. All is not sweetness and light. Be careful what you ask for. Or, as has been said by many a wise witch, "Marry in haste; repent in leisure." MLC

Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.

They have so far to go. I'm really hoping for a happy ending.

So am I.
Brings whole new meaning to kisses being like magic. Ah, dear petty Severus. I could almost hear him spitefully thinking "I'll give you a picture but I'll be damned if it's one of the good ones."
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Yes, that bent corner. Sometimes details matter, don't they?
And the kisses ... more to be explored and explained there!
Kinky tea. hahaSorry.Love these two chapters, can't wait for more!Keep writing!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
And they're back on a even keel, for the time being, anyway! :)
It's liked Snape's sympathy towards Ron, even as he gives him a photo with a bent corner.
Is Hermione aware of the fact that Snape does find her physically attractive?
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
You noticed the bent corner! LOL!
As for Hermione's awareness--um, we'll see.
Patience certainly seems to be needed here. For me, anyway! ;-) A lovely chapter and I really appreciated all the tea talk!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
I'll be it's hard to believe, but I'M impatient with this, myself! I just need to write faster, I guess!
It's really got to be hard when you're fighting yourself... that metaphorical daisy that Severus has been plucking at has to be shredded to pieces by now...
'I love her, I love her not, I love her, I love her not.'
*grins*
Another fine chapter my dear. Looking forward to Friday and Saturday. Hermione deserves to have a great Saturday. Severus owes her a fabulous Saturday.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I think Sev deserves a great Saturday, too!
And I love your daisy!!!
aeron's response: *hands Mia a fresh bouquet of daisies*Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
::curtseys and squees::
Hi,so I have to admit that I love your story. Mainly because your portrayal of hermione and snape. It was true to form in the beginning, and then they changed together. Obviously you already know this, haha. I actually started to read your fiction on sycophant hex. It was purely by accident that I found this site, i was searching for some other stories to keep me entertained while yours was finished. Awesome for me this one was updated further! So really the only purpose of this little message is to say, I absolutely LOVE your story!siriusZ.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so very much! I'm glad to know that the story holds together for you.
Hmmm, Severus is on to something, I think. As for the tea analogy, well, it sounds punny to say that it's hot, but it is!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Severus definitely has some ideas....
I think I'm sexually frustrated I need them to get this party started the right way. The whole tea analogy- bravo!
*Eagerly awaiting the next chappie! Pacing...pacing...*

I'm banging my head against the wall, waiting for them to finally get their acts together!
Thanks!
A cup of tea my dear? -.- Reading this story is turning me into a manic depressive.*sigh* Very realistically Hermione and Snape your story is. I have to say I expected fall out after reading the last chapter, but I was hoping more on the smaller scale rather than the 'oh look, you still don't have any kind of relationship or understanding with Snape' scale. As always, I wait for the next installment with baited breath.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
You know, I think every time he opens his mouth and says anything of a personal and/or intimate nature--positive or negative--it indicates that they do have a relationship, because it goes so much against his nature to even allow himself to try.
Plus, he sure does hang around her a lot.
As always I love this, I'm a bit late reviewing this time but after rereading I had to comment on this particular chapter just because of the fragment of line:"Professor Snape lifted her onto a pedestal"But anyways, I thoroughly enjoyed the Hagrid scene and gift. It seems like a very important turning point for them... or one of the many turning points that are converging on them right now. Now I'm off to read the new chapter and wait for the newer chapter to work its way through the queue.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
You noticed.
::squee::
Okay, maybe not squee, but I realized it could be taken more than one way, and I liked it and left it that way, not because I necessarily meant it in the "worship" way (yet) but because it is a little ambiguous and allows you to ponder....
Response from JumbleBee (Reviewer)
After not even giving you a nod for the wonderful idea of Snape trampling Jane Austen’s headstone way back when, I had to start atoning!Mmm readers love ambiguousity, makes the story unpredictable.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
LOL! Thanks for that! (And yes, I still giggle about the headstone, even though it was not a scene to giggle about!)
"Well. Except for the consummation part."I apologise for quoting you back at yourself - but you should know that everyone in the room now thinks I'm a prize clown because of the laugh I let out at this point. *hugs*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
LOL! Thank you!
Another great chapter. :)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you, again!
This is such a lovely chapter - I absolutely adore the whole idea of the photo. And quite an interesting twist at the end! Looking forward to more.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
Poor Severus! That made me cry.Hes jealous of Ron,good chapter can't wait for more!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you! And yes, he's having difficulty dealing with Ron, isn't he?
Oh for %^&*!! sake, I've lost track . . . when the HELL is it Saturday again??
DAMN that man . . .
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
It's sooner than you think.
Wednesday is trip to The Grange.
Thursday is tea with the Malfoys.

Ahem.

Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
"I see. My lack of scruples is yet another jot in the ‘for’ column. Fascinating."Perfect!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
I love the last lines. When everything else fails, brew tea!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Indeed.
Arrgh!. Snape! What did you go and do that for, silly man!?
I know he's smarting over her interaction with Ron, but is he quite aware of both the level of guilt Hermione carries? As well as the fact that he is figuratively slapping her in the face when he snaps at her?
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Of course he's not aware.
He's Snape.
Response from Hope24 (Reviewer)
Heh!
Hi, Mia!I just adore your beautiful story and can't wait for the next chapter to come. I hope you'll get the inspiration enought to finish it. It's the best i've read so far. Thank you very much.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you for the wonderful comments. And I have to finish it. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't!
Such a beautifully sad chapter
*wipes away tears and sniffs in unladylike manner*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much.
Those two just can't have it easy, can they? And does Severus really think she was only saying what she did to manipulate Ron? Oh dear, if so.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh dear, indeed. He should know better, but I'm not at all sure that he does.
Oh man! That's quite the bombshell to drop. And you're really loving tantalizing us readers with more bits of "what's up with Hermione" aren't you? ;-)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Well, um... yes.
Thank you!
