Seventh-year student Hermione Granger decides to marry the one eligible wizard who did not ask for her--the horrid but powerful Severus Snape. All is not sweetness and light. Be careful what you ask for. Or, as has been said by many a wise witch, "Marry in haste; repent in leisure." MLC

Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.

That is an amazingly sad chapter. Are those two ever going to find any happiness?
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I promise they will. I have no idea when, though. Sigh.
You are a diminutive stinker! A very exceptionally talented and gifted diminutive stinker with very wondefully regular updates (to my immense delight!)...when do you find the time? I am unsure of who feels more physical neglect, Hermione or myself...fabulous spin my dear. I hope you are eating your wheaties....
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much! And yes, am eating Scottish porridge!
Oh Severus...
*hangs head*
*turns away in futile attempt to hide the heart-break and tears*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I know.
Wonderful as always, especially the end. Just like Hermione, I didn't think of that angle to their situaiton. It really is a complete loss of control over one's self. I hope their Saturdays become much more enjoyable in the future - and, maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I did notice that during Snape's little shpew he mentioned that Voldemort would know how to hurt him and he'd hurt him by hurting Hermione - hmmm... an admission of feelings maybe?? guess I'll have to wait a little while longer to find out the awnser to that one - but if it was a slip on Snape's part, then I think you did an excellent job of just kind of 'slipping it in'.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
You noticed that, too? I'm not sure whether he did or not. ::whistling::
I'd love a cup of tea right now...but I'm too sick to even venture near my teapot...
Thanks for the chapter, it was lovely, especially the end!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh, I do hope you feel better soon. Here, have a cuppa:
(Not sure if this will work.)

Oh, no, another step back and more angst to come! But I'm sure our favorite know-it-all will find a breach in his defenses... I feel so happy when I check my e-mails and find another chapter! You make a good job in keeping the lenght and the cliffies in every chapter very interesting!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so very much!
Crimenetly! He could have shared that info a while ago instead of going all the long way around to this. Well, hell he better start makin' Saturday fun! If that's the only time they're going to get down to the lovin'! LOL
Again, can't wait for more!

Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I'm not sure it ever crossed his mind that she'd care! Thanks for reading and commenting, as always!
*blink* Wow. Interesting. Very interesting. I'm excited to see this story continued. Well done!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
I absolutely love this story! And I happen to love Professor Snape's foul language.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you. I like his foul language, too.
Hell yeah, Hermione! Fight like fucking hell! Wow, this was an amazing chapter! Eagerly going to read the next!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
So glad you liked it! And go, Hermione, go!
Oh, wow, I really think that the Headmaster needs to be punished, because I believe it was his actions that caused this.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
They certainly played a part.
Two things: For someone who has had her magical powers drained, Hermione sure has strong magical powers. Didn't even need a wand to rather permanently shut up the person who was annoying her. Either she recovers quite fast or, more likely, she has stores that didn't get drained at all.The Dumbledore of your story doesn't seem trustworthy. I wonder how Harry would feel if he knew that Hermione's "sickness" was due to Dumbledore shredding her magic with no apparent remorse, and not due to some nefarious actions of Snape. I hope Harry becomes enlightened soon. I'd love to see Dumbledore try to "explain."
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Dumbledore will get his chance to explain. We'll see if anybody cares.
The story is turning in delightful, profound and unexpected ways. I'm on tenterhooks, awaiting the next chapter!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you! (I am, too. On tenterhooks, I mean. I plan, and then they blow my plans to hades.)
Alright, now we're heading down the right road! Hagrid is so sweet! And it's good we're starting to get some healthy sexual feelings from Snape- I mean I have loads of friends who've told me their husbands tried to cop a feel while she was sleeping.
Hey, maybe when they start having "good sex" you can slip that one in. It is actually a nice way to wake up in the morning :) Oh my gosh! Did I actually agree with Severus Snape on something? I might have to be electro-shocked for that one!
Great work, can't wait for more!

Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I have to admit, if my husband ever stops copping a feel when we're sleeping, I'll assume he's stopped breathing. (He's a Scorpio. What can I say?)
Oh, Hermione...
I guess an epiphany was the last thing she needed while dealing with everything else. One thing is for certain though - never mess with a PMSing witch! Ouch.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
As Severus would say --
"Indeed."
Snerk.
aeron's response:I join the other reviewers in my liking of the scene at Hagrid's. Sev and Hermione both needed to see something positive about their marriage - they both have no problems with recognizing the negatives and they tend to cut each other to the quick with them over and over.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you. Hagrid is rather important to this story, unexpectedly, I might add, because he's possibly the only one who believes in them.aeron's response: Most welcome and happy writing!
I really like this story. Fifty-seven people adding it to their favorites certainly confirms how well it is received. Congratulations. I like how every chapter has a "moment", a memorable scene. I won't go through each chapter but believe me, they are all there. The last few legilimency chapters were action packed, compelling and touching. I thought Chapter 21 was very good, from the scene in Hagrid’s hut to the end. This added a layer of character development that I am excited to see continue. This story has OoC and AU elements that sticklers will certainly not like. But, I enjoy how “your” characters are developing. I find that this is the story I am always checking for in my TPP e-mail alerts. Cheers, Kat
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you for all your reactions. I really appreciate reading them. (And I hadn't noticed how many people had it in their favorites. Now I need to go blush and hyperventilate!)
Response from GryffKat (Reviewer)
And that is only 57 people who have it as a favorite. I think you can be confident in many readers who check for the update in other ways. I didn't start doing favorites until recently. No pressure, though. LOL!Best, Kat
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Believe me, I'm under all sorts of internal pressure to keep writing to the end!
Brilliant as always.
Love Hagrid to bits, so sweet of him to get the photograph for them................he is such a cuddly teddy bear. Yea gads I'm getting mushy again.
Hermione is definitely scary these days, magical power surging and all that.
Looking forward to more chapters.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
I just love the way it's getting more and more intriguing! :-)
And the caring sort of Snape just makes me want to go all awwww and hug him...
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Hands off -- he's Hermione's. If she every figures out what to do with him!
I liked the scene with Hagrid giving them the photographs. It's nice that they have someone who genuinely wishes them well.
Not entirely sure what's going on with Hermione, but looking forward to finding out.
Excellent as usual :)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
Wow, Hermione is having a power spike of some kind. How interesting. What does it mean?

The Magic 8- Ball says, "All will be revealed...."
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
Lol @ the magic 8 ball
Wow, I am really enjoying this story. I can't wait for the next chap.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thanks -- it should come up soon!
As always - really enjoying this story. I actually went back through and read the beginning chapters again and I"m now wondering if Sanpe's "alterior motives" weren't for himself at all but were so that Draco could be saved his father's fate. Rereading the beginning - in succession instead of one the a bit of time before the next - it really seems that he cares for the boy. I may be off track but if I'm not, I was really surprised that I had previously missed his thoughts of keeping Draco from taking the mark or taking a wife to prolong the (most likely) inevitable. Anyway, great writing and I look forward to the next chapter.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Bingo!
Right on the money. More to come, of course.
I just wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your story, I think that it's wonderfully written, and I hope that you update soon!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so very much!
Wow! What in the world is going on with Hermione? I was perplexed before, but now I'm just flabbergasted. I keep harking back to that convo with Ginny earlier. Something is very definitely up, and I'm dying to know what! Loved the tea with Hagrid, too. Yes, why didn't any of them think to use magic on his inedible cooking sooner? lol
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you, and yes, something is definitely going on with Hermione!
