Seventh-year student Hermione Granger decides to marry the one eligible wizard who did not ask for her--the horrid but powerful Severus Snape. All is not sweetness and light. Be careful what you ask for. Or, as has been said by many a wise witch, "Marry in haste; repent in leisure." MLC

Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.

exhausting chapter.they chanted her healing.this is the pure opposit of dark magic. has to be.and he forgives her all she has done. well, wise of him.she gets to speak to Dumbledore. I wish I could have eavesdropped.will we get to know what words were exchanged there?she blindfolded and with loss of blood. and still stubborn.I liked when he said, he would never break with his wifes traditional idea of nourishment for the ill. *ggg* he doesn't forget nor forgive, eh?so they really are back home. she copies her husband to perfection. *clap*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
They have ended up being such a pair, haven't they? Picking up each other's bad habits!
a howler!!she let out her frustration no matter what the consequences. and she didn't leave out one! aahhh fineeee!!yes, she definitely should share her knowledge with the other married girls. ha, thats what knowledge is for. let the jerks have their own sex life. but they have none, that is why they have to invent a law and observe others.. ggrrrrrr.the bed now got what it wanted so long ago. bit her, indeed. poor girl.but her knight came just in the right moment.well. there will not be enough time for a decent shag now. so the ministry will come forward with their consequences. wonder what that would be. have to read on!!!you know your way to keep one hooked, hey!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh yes, she said she wanted to send a Howler to Percy and she finally did--and to half the wizarding world at the same time, it seems! LOL! Thank you!
everytime you make her refer to him as "the professor" I automatically think of Ch. Bronte and her professor. both the book and the one she loved so unhappily.oh no, not this.I have vaguely in mind that he had forced her to swallow some potion, and that he had promised Voldi something. and now Malfoy lets this slip. he admits, that it is to his own advantage. But where would that lie in this case?grr. can't make it out. have to read on quickly.just one thing.I loved the scene in the engorged chair. his love for her shines and hers for him. a lovely couple.I would say she is a cat, periode. *gg*"I feel like robbing the cradle" *lol*mummy has forgiven. Wise woman. alas.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Salvamea, thank you so much for all these reviews. And I'm glad you liked the engorged chair. That Hermione, always thinking ahead and forcing him to cuddle!
So much dedication shown in these last 2 or was it 3 chapters. What they felt was put so well into words. Great job cannot wait to read more!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so very much. Yes, it was very intense, and what they went through was excruciating! It's not over yet and I'm writing the rest of it now, have been working on it since before Christmas. I have three or four more chapters and when I finally start posting them, will post them close together so nobody has to wait so long for updates on this story again.
You know, I attended my first Christmas Midnight Mass this past holiday and was blown away by how beautiful it was. I can only imagine how lovely it must be in a cathedral such as that. This has been such a touching story and I have truly enjoyed it. I love how you play up the obvious, "she's the Light to his Dark" so well. I've always loved that aspect of their relationship. I can't wait to read the rest! And I hope Hermione grows to love the baby! *fingers crossed* (but how could she not of course!)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I couldn't do the mass justice from his pov because he was distracted and also it was all foreign to him, but I hope you caught a glimpse of what it might have been like for them. I'm working on the rest now and hope to finish soon.
Oh God my heart is going to burst!!! Next chapter!!!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
::wibbles::Thank you so much!
Oh no!! No no no!!! He's...I can't stand it!!!1 *sob*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Believe it or not, I didn't see this coming. I didn't plan it. When I wrote it, it caught me by the throat and stunned me. I think the Dark Lord took over my fingers at that point!
I have whipped through these last few chaptes nearly faster than I did for DH. This plot line...it has my head swimming. This is just awful...but what can he do?! It breaks my heart.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to tell me what you're feeling. It just warms my heart.
Response from Iamgin (Reviewer)
It's the least I could do! I didn't give a critically, exact review, so sharing my immediate reactions was all my shattered brain cells could spare! heh. Thanks for the nice responses. :) Good luck finishing it! We're all waiting with bated breath.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
So am I!
Oh. My. God. No. You. Di-in't.I...I don't know that I can shut my eyes they are so wide right now.....next chapter...
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh yeah, I did. Gulp! (Thank you!)
OH SWEET CHRIST! MY SOUL HURTS READING THIS!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Mine hurt too, writing it!!! (Thank you for letting me know.)
Poor Hermione. It's a good thing (I hope) that Dumbledore pointed it out to Severus that she ran off heart-broken, at least.
It would make sense that any vows taken by wizards would count as magical oaths. Interesting how Snape didn't really even realise it at the time (and Hermione neither, but it's easier to understand that)!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
We'll understand more about why he and Dumbledore didn't really pick up on any of this at the time soon.
Oh. My. God."Merlin, these kisses—somewhere, constellations were born because of these kisses. "That line nearly killed me! Well. Done. You.And what an amazing damn twist on Legilimency!! I freaking love this fic....
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Please forgive me for taking so long to get back to you! I'm really digging deep trying to finish this fic and haven't responded to reviews the way I should, but please believe me when I say how much they mean to me. Thank you!!!
I love this amazing story . So much emotion in Hermione s and Severus inherent monologue - it makes me cry and smile at the same time . This chapter is fantastic ,as are the other , and do pleas , pleas , print faster .
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so very much. Your review means a lot to me. I honestly thought I responded to it when you first wrote it, but please don't think that because I didn't that means I don't appreciate it!
"This is very good tea, Severus." "How can you tell?"
*dies laughing*
I absolutely HOWLED laughing at that. My cats think I'm possessed.
"Your concern for me, as always, is a comfort."
Yes. And straight out of Deathly Hallows. (That is actually meant as a compliment, even if I did *detest* that book . . .)
"It was her heart that broke in front of me, after all."
. . . Ow . . .
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
You know, I had no idea it was out of Deathly Hallows but I do take that as a compliment. It's probably one of those things that I absorbed (like a body blow) when it happened.
. . .
My they are a damaged pair, aren't they.
What the heck is Severus' problem???
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I thought I responded to this review last week. I wonder if the system ate it.
What is Sev's problem? Well, he's not accustomed to having good things happen, therefore, they must not be good. He would be remiss if he didn't figure out what made them bad, wouldn't he? Not only remiss--but vulnerable. No, that would never do.
Oh...My...God.I'm just back from holiday, and to my delighted surprise there were 3 chapters I hadn't read yet. This last one was heart-wrenching, gut-punching and totally lovely. *bows and cries, 'we're not worthy! we're not worthy!'*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
oooo-- so much drama, but at least no evil cliffee!! looking forward to what happens next.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
It's on the way. Thanks!
Just when I think it's all going so swimmingly...it never is, is it....!?!
sigh...
I'm enjoying this story so very much...
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I'm so glad you continue to like the story!
Wow, that adds a totally different dimension to everything. It is really a lovely story.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you--I'm glad you like it.
That was humiliating. Especially to have Severus yell out that he does not love her. Even if you know it is true, such vehemence is hurtful.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Maybe he'll make up for it later.
I'm still following this on ff.net cause it comes out the quickest, haha, but I just had to say (again), I love you, and your amazing fiction, and the next chapter made me cry.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
You're so wonderful! Thank you!
Very, very nice! Poor Hermione, poor Severus - and Merlin knows what's going to happen to the rest of the magical world! Fantastic chapter, as always :D
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much!
The visit to Father Gadbury made me cry. Seriously, I didn't think I would have been so moved. Only, I expected Hermione to wake up when Snape would finally say, "I love you"...
OH MY GOD. This chapter astonished me in so many ways. I could have never guessed such a twist. And I wonder what could have happened if this be canon, I mean, if Rowling had the idea of making Snape Voldemort's secret son. And yes, this sounds like Star Wars but it gives me chills nonetheless.
