Seventh-year student Hermione Granger decides to marry the one eligible wizard who did not ask for her--the horrid but powerful Severus Snape. All is not sweetness and light. Be careful what you ask for. Or, as has been said by many a wise witch, "Marry in haste; repent in leisure." MLC

Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.
Reviews for Care of Magical Creatures
Ah back where she belongs -- in his arms. But on question: Is he at lease THINKING of her as Hermione even if he still says 'Miss Granger' all the time? Wonderful as always and always looking for more. Thanks for sharing, JoAnne

Thank you!
How frightening. The Malfoys remind me of sharks.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Sharks -- oh, good call.
Thank you.
Well, Albus just has to learn that Severus is becoming quite fond of his wife and his first duty is to her. LOL great chapter as usual!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
I appreciate Albus is his superior but is that any reason for Severus to run off to report before ensuring that his wife is safe and uninjured. I definitely think Severus has his priorities right!I am really enjoying this story and cannot wait for you to update.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so very much. I'm glad you're enjoying it!
So Severus doesn't go to Albus first ...Considering Albus has yet to make up for seriously damaging Hermione, there is no reason to place his desires ahead of anyone else's. Albus always seems to see himself as above reproach and above recrimination for his deeds when they hurt people. It is nice to see Severus not kowtowing to him.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I have mixed feelings about it since Albus is his superior and whether he likes him or not or is happy with him at the moment or not, he should be reporting to him.
But I'm glad he's more distracted by and worried about Hermione than Albus.
I'm loving this story esp. the fact that Severus seems to be putting Hermione before everything else. As for not reporting to Albus, surely Albus will understand that his growing feelings for Hermione are begining to rule his behaviour.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh, I'm sure Albus will suspect that, but that doesn't mean he thinks it's a good thing!
Thank you for the kind words and review!
He needs to protect his wife better, I believe. But I really hope Narcissa choked on her bile.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I don't think we're through with Narcissa.
Interesting.very tense scene.more soon!!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you!
Duh, duh, duh! What an ending! Amazing past couple of chapters.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much!
Oh, damn. Now I have to wait like the rest of the plebs for the story to continue... on the other hand, Real Life is beckoning me with an irritated look on her face. You should know that I will be living in a state of bad hygiene for the next fortnight. Today we were supposed to hand our sheets and towels in at the laundry, but I came here online instead. Tonight I'll turn the sheets over, and I own my own towels, but see how you've made my priorities slide? My mother would be aghast! *big hugs & waiting in anticipation*Jenny.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
You totally crack me up! I hope the bad hygiene doesn't get you down!
i love it! when will you be able to finish it?
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I'm working on it, I promise!
"His"... gah! (That's a good gah, btw.)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you again! (And that it's a good gah!)
I love this story. I've no doubt mentioned that before. And have been trying to restrain my twitchy fingers from commenting on every damn chapter... but I just had to say it. I love it.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Feel free to comment early and often! I love them!
Wonderful! You pulled off the innuendo quite well. It didn't seem hoaky or chessy as it is sometimes wont to do. Great writing!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much! I'm glad it worked for you.
wonderful chapter! God I just shiver when I hear Severus's voice (forever linked to Alan Rickman).
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh yes, his voice....!
Is his voice every mentioned favorably in canon? Makes no difference, we now have Rickman!
Smoking in the slytherin common room. I like that. I'd better watch sinking myself into your head like this. I'll get lost in the fine line between canon and fanon, lol.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh, I'm already lost. I am constantly wracking my brain trying to figure out if something is canon or fanon when I'm writing!
I should mention, before I forget, that the idea about Hermione's parents is one I haven't come across before. Of course, I'm new to the Potterverse, but still.(And my sociology prof would adore speculating on the symoblism of a marriage bed with snakes that bite...)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
LOL! And the bed will be back....
God, you're a genius. I don't know what I liked best. Snape putting her in the right mood to enter the Great Hall - Hermione telling Hooch to "bite my arse" (I'd pay to see that in the films, lol) - or the ending...
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh, thank you so much! I'm loving reading your reactions as you read chapter by chapter!
It's two hours since I read this chapter, because in between I have been and gone to lectures and returned again. I never return to the IT department this late in the evening - my lectures are too complicated, I'm too exhausted, and the night is already dark and freezing. And I wore the wrong jacket this morning. But I had to return because this chapter made me. I admit it against my will, but I have never cried because of fan fiction before (and I've been reading since early February, quite a damn lot of the stuff) - but somehow, something in this chapter did. I can't even tell you what, but I know that I left here and walked to Sociology of Literature with tears on my face that I couldn't have explained to a soul if they'd thought to ask me what was wrong. And oddly, I want to thank you for that. Because to be able to make someone cry, and cry without even having understood the reason for their tears, is a great gift. Respectfully, Jenny.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I've overwhelmed and honored by your response. Thank you.IndigoBlue's response: Not at all. Now I'm just waiting for the dratted thing to load so I can read on... *sighs*
Ooh! You know, I try not to gush all over people on the first chapter - it's a bit unseemly, lol - but like Hermione I'm just a bit overwhelmed. This is great!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Gushing is good. I like gushing.
" And so it was she found herself yet again falling back on the finest of English tradition."
Oh, I *really* like that line. Although Snape's rampage about fucking his child bride was quite good as well.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Ah, thank you, for both!
*sighs*Buggers are kicking us out. I'll be back to bother you again tomorrow, lol.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I look forward to it!
Shit. Not the story, sorry, just - shit. Males. Shit. (Am I allowed to curse in reviews? Can't remember. Don't much care.)
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Yes, you're allowed, especially when they deserve it.
brilliant! can't wait for the next chappie.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
It's on the way!
I absolutely loved the tea scene...I love writing (and reading) food scenes that are obviously analagous to something else. (And I always wondered how one could make tea...alluring.)
Congratulations, you've made tea alluring, which makes this the best chapter ever!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much! This "tea" thing has run away with me, hasn't it?
