Reviews for Caramel
That Lavender is one nosey cow. She should mind her own business. But on the other hand, who else would annoy Hermione?
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
She should definitely mind her own business, but as you say, where's the fun in that? I do think that HG will never ever ever forget the silencing charm again, though.
Ahah - this is one for my 'smoking!Severus' quiz-in-the-making. Though I've no idea why this dedicated non-smoker latched onto that theme. This is fascinating - well done.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
I didn't know smoking!Severus was a thing--do now though! Quizzie! Yay! (exclam!abuse) I always find such good fics there--the morsel you serve in the quiz is just the right size for a teaser. Thanks for the review :)
Splendid story! Also, your characters are true to form and well developed. Things will get harder before they get better. Hopefully you hadn't read further than HBP when writing this story. They just kept getting worse. If you don't have to stay with cannon after Severus does the deed, you won't have to kill off half of The Order, including Severus before we're done.
Damn. That was heartbreaking and terrifying and all sorts of hawt.
How did I not read this before?
Maybe because I was perfectly in the mood now.
I just want to cry for England now. The relief crier, maybe.
You'd best be writing you fingers to the bone. Bone, I say.
Oh, I always feel so badly for Snape when he's down on himself like this. But that's just part of him that makes you want to pull him to you and give him a bear hug, right? I loved her run, and her musings.Okay, attempt at rational analysis has failed. --great line!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Yes; and interestingly, it is still also the part of him that is keeping him alive. He can't do what he has to do and be gentle on himself or anyone else. : (
Yeah - as usual! Really nice job with your descriptive language - and such dead on characterization - as much as I want him to just melt a little - it would never happen here/now - can't wait to see if you take the story there -
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thanks so much. And I am right there with you--I'd love it if he could take in love and comfort, but it is the wrong time and place. It's going to take a long time and much angst (I only fully realized this after I started writing the story--d'oh!).
Oh how I loved this chapter! I wish they could hear each one's thoughts about the other. There is a connection forming, and I have no idea what paths they will trod on their journeys of self-discovery, but it promises to be marvelous with unexpected ventures off the defined paths.Well done!Beth
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Wow, thanks! I'm so glad you liked it. Yes, the connection is forming, very slowly and against huge odds. It will take some time and effort to bear fruit, but they'll get there....
This first chapter is wonderful, filled with a new awareness of each other – when "his gaze caught on hers, and as bleak black eyes met warm cinnamon ones, hers widened with shock--and his froze over."I look forward to seeing where you take this tale.Beth
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Dear Beth, thanks so much for the review! I am very happy you enjoyed it, and I hope to deliver a new load of enjoyment each week. :D
Mmmmmm. Delicious song and chapter. I live close to Grass Valley. Maybe she'll come again sometime and I can to see her. Thanks for the the new performer I hadn't known about. We have crappy radio here and I ususally stil to my ipod and people I know. Think I'll download that album.
Ahhhh...Hermione has had that epiphony we adult women all had when we saw the first trailer for the first movie. I was reading Harry Potter because the first 3 books were magical and fun escapeism. We wondered why a teacher that seemed so powerful, so mean and bad, obeyed Dumbledore so completely and instantly even when you thougt you knew it wasn't what he wanted to do. But he obeyed without question. That was a puzzel.
Then!! The 1st trailer. Oh yeah, that's what I'm talkin' about girl friends!...When I saw that That Bad Boy from Quigly Down Under, Robin Hood mixed with Mesmer and Colonel Brandon: Alan Rickman was going to be the sexy evil seeming Severus Snape who showed that he was on top of his game from the first moment we see him at the table making the connection between Harry's scar and Professor Quirrell that something wasn't right.
You knew he was on to something that nobody else saw and therefore went to look for Quirrell instad of the troll. This took Snape to an entire new level outside the book. Rickman was what made adult women go to see these movies .
I say all of that to say this; Hermione is in for it!Enjoy the frustration and blooming feelings of falling in love with someone who won't think he deserves you. I can't wait to see how you fix that. He is a woman magnet. And maybe some men too.
Rickman doesn't seem to like the comments about how sexy he is during interviews for some reason. It's as if he permits himself to have fan girls he will be seen as a less serious actor. But I beg to differ. I am an Alan Rickman fan woman/girl. And....Yes I would!
Oh how sad. Prof. Snape wants to be the recipient of Miss Granger's attention, but he doesn't believe anyone could care for him.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
He hasn't gotten much evidence to the contrary, has he? That's what fanfiction is for! To right the wrongs of the Potterverse! Thanks for reviewing; I appreciate it very much.
I really like this so far. It has the flavor of the old good fanfic, before it all got too trite. Keep it going. Would love a quicker update if you have it in you :) good job!!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thank you maam. It probably feels old school cause I hadn't been reading fanfic for very long before I started writing it. Probably a good thing--otherwise I would have thought "*shrug* It's all been done before, and better" and just not bothered! And updates will be at least weekly; I'm queuing up another tonite so it should pop up in a few days.
bet she would look at him like that.:)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
You know it! ;) Thanks for taking the time to review. XD
Brilliant chapter. I sincerely hope you're about to upload the next one. :) Hermione's taste in music had me absolutely squee. It cannot get better than Beethoven.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
*happy smiles You got that right: Ludvig van has what everyone needs.
Such excellent capturing of a mature teenager's mind! I can't wait to read more!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
*smiles at you thank you my friend!
Yes! I love it! Hermione would be a runner. It fits her perfectly. I could feel the joy of the run in your story. What a beautiful place for a run. Freedom and clean air. Quiet and solitude. Time to think, to ponder, to analyze and review. I think it suits very well. I'm surprised I haven't seen it in any other story. If Severus only knew. Well, he would think it was preposterous at first. But then...
This is an excellent start, and I can't wait to read more! Great job.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thank you! I am happy to spark that "want more!" reaction! I feel like I'm saying this to everyone, but: updates will be approximately weekly from here on out. Enjoy!
Wonderfully, lovely beginning. I'm so happy to find this jewel I've yet to read. Yes, Severus Snape's hands are quite an erotic incredient when added to a story about the Posions Master and our favorite Head Girl. I do hope it ends happily. If I get too worried I'll have the check the last chapter. I don't do sad stories. They hang around in my head for days and days. I can't wait to read the next chapter!
Two moths and no update? I hope everything is okay with you, as I am a big fan of thsi story!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Worse than that: 3 months and no reply for you. *sighs* So rude; I'm so sorry. But I am still with the story. Next chapter will be up soon (at this point, that's chapter 36).
Poor Hermione, realizing her professor is... sexy... of all things!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
It's definitely freaking her out a bit. We'll see how she manages.... :D Thanks for R&R! More soon.
lovely start - can't wait to see chapter two - loved the teaser
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
oh, thank you! chapter 2 is in the queue, hope you enjoy.
She only just worked that out? :)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
I know, right? It's got to start sometime though, and that's what this fic is about--the beginning for these two. Thanks for R&R, more coming soon!
I look forward to see where this is going.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thank you maam. More on the way soon!
So she was completely distractedin Potions, but at least her brain did cotton on. Hermione talking herself into a detention - nope Ron, just the opposite is going on.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
More distraction ahead, I'm afraid! ;) Chapter 2 coming soon.
I look forward to see where this is going. I wonder what Snape noticed in her eyes though.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Chapter 2 coming up soon! thanks for reading and reviewing! :)
