Reviews for Caramel
It's been quite a while---is all well with you?I'm looking forward to more of this story; you have a loyal and definite fan here! Please do update soon!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
O hi! Can you tell I'm catching up on old reviews today? Don't want to post again without doing so--I got so horribly, wretchedly behind. (another hug)
Am I allowed to sing praises while strategically kneeling by your feet? I've just found this story and I love your writing. You're witty, and wonderful! Potentially addicting and what was I sawing. . . I was basking in your authorship and sending you more good writing thoughts. Anyway, write on MacDuff!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Oh, man, what a fantastic, friendly review!! I'll take your praises, and sing them back to you, interspersed with apologies for never acknowledging them for EEEEKKK 5 months. Thanks again, really. And, uh, next chapter (36) is posting soon.
What an awesome story this is. You are a very talented writer. Do you keep an email list to let readers know when you update this story? Many Thanks,Pris
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thank you so much! What kind things to say! I don't keep an email list, I just update. I think the site can send you a notice when new chapters are up if you mark the story as a favorite. My apologies for replying to you so shockingly late--I am so sorry, and do appreciate your taking the time to read and review.
Sequel news?!?!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Working... on... it... I have about 9,000 words, which is going to be either 3 chapters or 7 chapters, and probably not in anything like the order I have them now. Huge structural questions still to answer. Sigh. But am bloody well not going to write anything else until it's done--or at least on the downhill slope to done.xo

Well good luck :) I read Caramel 4 months ago and still can't get it out of my head... so I'll be here trying to wait patiently :)
I enjoyed this tremendously. Your story kept me up until the wee hours two nights in a row because I couldn't stop reading.
It was great to see the development of Hermione's and Severus's relationship, the growing awareness of each other, the passion and the tenderness. Right now, I'm heartbroken for both of them ~sniffs~, but I will just imagine that he did survive (he never died in my world anyway), that they did find each other again, that he did manage to reverse the effects of the potion, that Hermione forgave him and that they're now living mostly-happily-ever-after.
Wonderful story!
I love them together too. This was an incredible chapter, possibly my favorite so far.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thank you! I think one of the reasons I had such a gap between this chapter and the next was that it was such a nice place to leave them before bad stuff started happening again...
Wow, great chapter! Love how he trusts her enough to let her decide how to proceed instead of taking the initiative upon himself.Looking forward to seeing what happens next!

So much angst! The ending was both erotic and bittersweet. I hope she doesn't have to Obliviate herself... it seems like so many things could go wrong there! What if he dies? She'll never remember that she loved him! It's killing me! I'm loving the story... it's all coming to a head now I believe. I just hope S&H come out on top of things in the end. :)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thanks, Scully; what a great review. It is true--so many things can go wrong from here. *kicks canon* And also, my sincerest apologies for replying to you so shockingly late--I am so sorry, and do appreciate your taking the time to read and review so thoughtfully.
May I just say, I am completely infatuated with this story. Having discovered it, I have spent every moment I can spare in the last 48 hours reading it, from start to here; unable to close the window without serious effort. It's truly wonderfully thought out, skillfully written and exquisitely constructed. Having not read any HG/SS for some time that really kept me hooked and excited, this story has flooded back just why I love the pairing. Just wonderful. Thank you so much for posting such a lovely fic, it honestly deserves every nomination and award given to it. :)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
WHAT A WONDERFUL REVIEW!! How kind you are. I am smiling mightily, and so flattered to think my story brought back your love for the pairing. That's phenomenal. I must also offer my sincerest apologies for replying to you so shockingly late--I am so sorry, and do appreciate your taking the time to read and review so very kindly.
Your writing is just exquisite. Sometimes I'm reading a story and think about things that might have been worded differently or done in a differnet manner. This piece of work is always perfect. Every moment, every emotion, every word uttered is exactly as it should be. I've thought this to be true from the beginning, but this particular chapter just had me entranced.I think their plans are an equal mix of foolishness and brilliance. But they don't have a lot of choices. I like what they have come up with, but hope that most of it is for naught. I can't possibly see how this can come out ok for them in the end. I don't remember if you have ever let on whether or not this has a happy ending. I no longer doubt that their relationship can survive what is coming their way, but I worry about how things will go after the war, if they live, in terms of his freedom and/or acceptance. It gives me hope that you love S&H together, but time will tell. Will be anxiously awaiting the next chapter, hopefully soon. You have been spoiling us rotten lately. Please don't stop!

. I treasure you as a reader. And you have just said some of the nicest things here (okay, you said them in March, but I'm reading them now). I am so happy you recognize the desperate foolishness in their brilliance and in their willingness to try, try, try to come up with the solution that will allow them to keep this amazing thing they've found. *kicks war* *snuggles you
There is absolutely NOTHING in this chapter that I didn't completely LOVE!But I think my favorites are him holding her hand via the caramel, and her fiery declarations of love during their "talk". He's accepting that she loves him--really does love him (finally), and is letting himself admit the same. And I love them both for it!Thank heaven for the obliviation of Jill! She's a loose cannon that has had me worried for a while---and we all know, with such neatly planned contingincies as they have brilliantly thought out, nothing could ever go wrong...go wrong...go wrong....(looking forward to the "more" "soon!")
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Yay! I loved this chapter too. I left them there for so long at least in part because it was such a sweet, trusting, together place for them to be. And hard times are ahead.((still moar hugs))
Oh how glad I am that they had this time together after their talk about how to handle the future. Finding out that Severus must kill Dumbledore was a total shock, and I can understand her horror of finding out the Headmaster is dying, and must do so at Severus' hand.I empathize with her not wanting to be Obliviated, and I hope their contingency plans hold up the worst Voldemort and his Death Eaters can muster. So, she will have the pelletized Obliviate potion for herself in the poisoner’s ring in case she is captured. And her parents and Jill will have to be Obliviated... err, will she have to do that or will Severus help her with that?It was saddest when Severus told her about Dumbledore, but best was their lovemaking. I hope they can make the most of the time they have left before Severus must become Dumbledore's murderer. After that their times together may be few and far between.Thank you for this amazing chapter. I've been wondering how it would all go down.Beth

wow, amazing. I hope they can have a life together after moldy voldy is gone.

Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
. me too...
Between teaching four-hour classes, I get this. I love you, you know. What a lovely fluffy and smutty chapter! Of course HG would want to hex Dumbledore!! And you just addressed an issue that I am dealing with relating to a relentless plot bunny. Too funny! I was just thinking about about fine-tuning and targeting Obliviates with sugical precision, but performed on SS. It will never see the light of day, but I can still satisfy the plot bunny!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)

Damn! Of *course* he's going to back away. Not doing so would give us readers our jollies, and Snape simply can't allow anyone to be happy--certainly not himself.Seriously, great story. I'm really, really enjoying it, angst and all. Forget about RL and just get on with writing! heehee Rating: Fifteen stars
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
