Reviews for Caramel
At the risk of sounding a bit cliched, I'll at this point (on Jan. 31) scream along with Hermione:MORE! MORE!! MORE!!!So. (ahem.) Another chapter?
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
hee hee. was thinking to myself, should I post tonight? iz tired. but you have decided me. chapter 30 coming up (just have like an hour of editing and coding etc. to do). thanks for the nudge, ms mouse! xoc
Response from countrymouse (Reviewer)
I think I love you!Thanx SO much!***(glomps you)***
Wonderful love scene! A real joy to read and worth the wait. I'm looking forward to the future of Hermione and Severus, can't wait for the next chapter!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thank you so much! And many sincere apologies for taking a really, really long time to reply to you with my thanks. Glad you have enjoyed the story. :D
Um, I have to say I'm a little concerned about Hermione's glamour stating that anyone can see her blushing face if "they know how she feels about" Severus . . . when Lavendar is about spot-on.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
True. There are holes in HG's logic and defences that she doesn't even know about. It's all so dicey... (Apologies for the late response to your review, and many thanks for leaving it!)
Finally! The whole chapter was so erotic and simply beautiful. Severus reading that book was extremely funny... as was the fact that he burned the damn thing! I eagerly await another update! :)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
It really was "finally," wasn't it? 29 chapter in, my goodness! thanks for the review, very much indeed. :D
Oh. just OH. and so good. worth the wait. Sorry, a little inarticulate right now, but surely you didn't want to wait for me to read it AGAIN to make sure I liked it ;)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Ah, go ahead and read it again. I don't mind. :D Seriously--I'm glad you liked it and appreciate your letting me know. *squish*
I think I enjoy your author's notes as much as the story. Great chapter.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
LOL Thanks for the sweet note. :D
OMG! That was just so so amazing. I loved this storyline. The ending was so sad and angsty, I loved it.But I was soo disappointed when I found out there was no sequel. And I would really love to read the sequel y'know, just to see how this pans out.
Think about it? Please? It will drive me mad if I don't know what happens.Especially since this was one of the very best Snape/Hermione stories I've ever read.
101 Ways to Drive a Witch Wild was the best part of the chapter. Severus reading something like that made me laugh.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
I know--! Really, Severus BURNING it was my fave. He would find it sooooo irritating, but in the circumstances couldn't keep himself from taking a peek. Thanks for r&r. :)
I definitely would not mind Severus's boot under my bed.Fans herself...
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Oh, I know. And the queue stretches for several miles in front of us and behind us. ;D
This story is really amazing! I can't wait to read the rest of it! When I got to the end of chapter 29 and noticed that the rest hasn't been posted yet, I almost cried! lol Keep up the good work!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
*pets you* Don't cry. :D Thanks for the nice review and encouragement! *iz working on more, more, more*
I wonder what Severus' alternative plans are? Poor guy, always doubting himself.Wow, so hot yet not OTT!Will Hermione check the map just to see how she appears on it and will she be doing research to see if she can modify it? Should be fun!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Answers to these questions and so much more... coming up! And--excellent! 'Hot but not OTT' is just perfect. Thanks!
Interesting on the mapwork, how long before she's looking into it fully? Wow, thankfully you anticipated and posted both chapters together!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Oh, we shall see... :D
Oh Severus, you wonderful, wonderful man. If only every woman could have such an amazing first experience. Although, it really sets the bar high for future encounters. I liked the ending with the Dark Mark. It brought him, and her, and me for that matter, back to reality a bit. But I also like that it was a non issue to her. Their dialogue is fantastic, even if hers is a bit broken at times (how could it not be?) It takes some real talent to write explicit content well, and you my friend, are the Queen. And yes, I said that out loud.Incidentally, I clicked the 5 stars button twice, but it didn't give you ten *runs off to call tech support*
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
*gigglesnort* O, thank you. *pokes at crown* I was also very impressed with S's care. She really brings out the best in him. I am extremely fond of them both and I so wanted it to be lovely for them. And luckily, I had some say in it. :D However, yes. I am warily eying future encounters. Hmmmm....
Fantastic job on this. I agree with previous reviewers. You made this well-trod material fresh. It wasn't till I read other reviewer comments that I realized you had posted both chapters at the same time. I thought I must have missed the 2nd last chapter somehow (b/c sometimes I do that when following a number of stories). You can't imagine my delight when I realized I had two stories to read. I dug in with great relish and was certainly not disappointed. Thanks very much for the great read that is this fic.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Oh, I'm glad that you got there was another chapter. I think I'll add a temporary A/N to the top of 29 so that people know both went up at once. And thanks for the very kind review. ((hugs)) **smiles**
Holy effing Hell woman! Talk some more indeed. I think I like his plan quite well, and if for some reason Hermione is unable to fill her role as bedroom partner number two, well I'll be acting as her understudy *holds pillow to Hermione's face until she stops moving* Yikes, that's brutal and so unlike me. Let's try, *Locks Hermione in a room with silencing spells and no wand and a heavy dose of sleeping draught* That's better on my conscience. Ok, I've cooled off enough now to go on to the next chapter. A million thanks for not leaving us hanging!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
ROFL! I was going to say 'poor Hermione' but it's not poor Hermione at all! I've read the next chapter, and so I know she escaped your locked room and had a fine time in her starring role. Next time, may I suggest a judicious Obliviate? :D
I am speechless. This chapter is beyond my wildest dreams, and I am certain that they have never felt such passion as they did tonight. For a moment I thought Hermione's seeing the Dark Mark on his arm would spoil the loveliness of their love making, but both of them caught themselves before they could say or do anything. Severus was already worried about her loving him. He thinks he's not good enough for her, but I think he is and she does, too. So he will just have to get over himself on that one.Severus wrapped his arms around his girl and resolved to hear her begging once more before he let her go for the night. I can only hope that with everything going on in their future, they will be able to hold onto each other throughout it all!Now I'm ready to hear what Jill has to say. Please? With sugar on top?Beth
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Sooooo glad you liked it. I must have been almost as fussed about their first time as they were! Am truly happy and relieved it went so well. They do have a long road ahead of them; I hope you continue to enjoy the trip! About 1300 words into ch 30, FWIW...
Bravo! What a great way to leave this climatic scene with the conclusion spinning out into the mind of the reader. Your teaser with the Dark Mark has me intrigued as to what the war has in store for these two and whether or not you'll hold true to canon going forward. (Please say yes!!)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Yes!! Canon compliant to the end of DH (minus epilogue). And we are now at 13 May 1997, about 1 month before D-day. Nuff said. Very glad you liked the chapter; thanks for letting me know. ((hugs you)) Okay back to ch 30...
I love that Snape can turn Hermione into a pile of goo without making her seem silly or childish."Three true statements. Two of them also utterly deceitful. I am going straight to hell." She may be going to hell, but she's going to make her Slytherin proud on the way there! ;)
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Well, she'll definitely make him happy on the road to hell. :D If she could only tell him about the map, he could probably sort it for her (and be proud of her excellent sneakiness), but she's going to have to work this problem out on her own. Thanks, SL.
Hermione's recollection of hers and Severus' "meeting" the day before was just so... normal. What woman would not fondly recall such a lovely experience with the man she loves? My only regret was that Lupin popped into the hearth right when she was getting to the good part. You are an ebil author, but I love you. (Not ebil really because you posted the next chapter, too.)
I think, for the moment at any rate, that neither Lupin nor Harry suspect Hermione of any duplicity concerning the map. But for how long can she hold on to it without raising their suspicions?
Severus' preparations for the coming evening were all about seeing to Hermione's comfort and peace of mind, and that was sweet. When she finally arrived, his reaction was that of a drowning man who has just been saved. As he was telling Hermione what he planned to do, word by lovely word, I knew this was going to be good. She cracked me up when she pulled the condoms from her bag and began to tell him what she thought of his plan: "That should be better, shouldn’t it? It all seems quite a lot to think about, and I was worrying how it would all work and just really, feeling very glad that at least one of us has done this before.
And Severus knew just what to say. *sigh*
Thank you for such a wonderful chapter, Cori. Now I'm gong to read the next chapter because I can't stand it another minute! Beth
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
She does have a charming habit of babbling--well, he finds it charming. And boy howdy did he know what to say and how to say it. I so wanted him to treat her right this first time, and he did, the love. I know, I'm the author, I'm supposed to make them do whatever I want, but they really do have to cooperate, in a sense. He agreed to be rather wonderful while still being a bit horrible around the edges. She quite likes his horrible edges, though. *happy sigh* Glad you liked it, my Beth. :D
wickedly delicious, and so much fun. I can't wait for the next chapter.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Thanks, pearl! I am glad you enjoyed it. Working on the next one... :D
Severus Snape is so sexy, Hermione is a very lucky girl.
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
He is really pulling out the stops, isn't he? I'm glad--she deserves it. And is also very lucky, I agree! Thanks for R&R. (hugs)
mmmm... that was well worth the wait. Thanks!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Excellent. Glad it was worth it! *hates long waits*
‘That expression on your face is what is termed a smirk. It’s smug, supercilious, and antisocial and, and horrible. You are wrong to use it on me, and I just have to say that one day you will beg me for something, and then you’ll see how it feels to be smirked at.’Oh yes! I loved this. Guh. I'm speechless now, though. Just, good. Guh!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Guh is good! Good speech for a review. We like the guh. :D (hugs)
Wow, she really likes him talking dirty, huh? Love it!
Response from corianderpie (Author of Caramel)
Yes, yes she does. It's the voice as much as the words I think--the combination is kryptonite. Or opium. Or something really strong. :D
