Hermione Granger returns to Hogwarts for a year of postwar schooling. When, supposedly, all is well for the Know-It-All, events from the past emerge and drama ensues. And where is Severus Snape in all of this? Right smack in the middle, of course! Amidst the turmoil of early adulthood and unrequited feelings, will Severus and Hermione learn to "seize the day"?
AU after HBP, some facts from DH. Mild student-teacher romance. Rated M for later dream sequences, etc. Features some non-explicit HG/DM.

nice work
nice work
want more Severus and Hermione, the dream was very good I enjoyed it :)
Very nice interaction between Severus and Hermione.
Quite a sad ending. I don't even thing Hermione is all that happy. Hopefully it won't take her two years to tire of Draco.
enjoyed this chapter, any chapter with Severus is great :)
It was interesting good job
Please tell me you plan on continuing this! I just wanted to drop you a line and a little friendly nudge. I'd love to see a happy ending for my favorite couple!

Oh, I definitely will finish this. I've got half of the last chapter done, but I've just started college so that's why it slowed down so drastically. lol. i even have part two started. it's just going to be a bit. i aim to have this last chapter and then part II chaps 1 & 2 up by christmas. sorry to keep you waiting. *scolds self*

I'm glad to hear it! Just sorting through my bookmarks and reacalling my favorites. I'm so happy to know we'll be seeing more! Good luck with college!
I for see a bitter-sweet ending in the future. I'm glad Hermione has moved on from Ron, but either Draco or Severus is going to be hurt in the end.
I loved little Teddy stopping by Severus on his way down the aisle and morphing into the likeness of Professor Snape. Severus was a darling to pick him up and take him to Harry. I don't know what Severus and Hermione are going to do. It's obvious to anyone who knows them that their "dance" at the reception showed the truth about how they feel about each other. Even Draco could see it. How long will it be before Severus and Hermione have the courage to admit that they love each other. It's sad to see them remaining aloof from each other when they both want so much to be together. But before that can happen, Herminone had an around the world trip to make with Draco. I hope no one gets hurt so badly that they can't find their way back. This was such a bittersweet chapter... many happy thing, and a few unhapppy, or unsatisfied, ones. And it's a great story, CC. How many more chapters do we have in Part One?Beth

Two more chappies, then it's aaaall sshg, babe! I'm so glad you enjoyed this chapter. :) Thanks for the lovely review. -CC
wow...what a wedding! and what a reception! great update. i hope she and draco don't get too close but his remark worries me. thanks so much
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
I've never thought much about what I wanted in a wedding... but man, this was kind of it. LOL. I gave Harry and Gin the best possible, in my opinion. The reception, I'm sure, was a hoot. Except Hermione and her emotional turmoil. *ugh* She's gonna stick with our Draco, I'm afraid, but just for a year or two. You know, he's a pet project, in a way. And also a way for her to focus on problems other than her own. He's the "easy way out". Thanks for the review! (Why am I always writing paragraphs?) -CC
Harry and Ginny's wedding is not the place for Hermione to have an epiphany...but it makes live much more interesting. Teddy as the ringbearer was a great idea, loved it. Hermione really has gotten herself into a pickle. Draco's completely enamoured with her and she's having second thoughts. I don't think Draco at this point will take to being left well at all, especially for his head of house. It is interesting that Ron is the one to have things figured out, wonder how that will turn out later on.Looking forward to the next chapter.

I'm so happy you liked Teddy. He's just... adorable. I was so sad not to have seen the relationship between Harry and him in the books, so I stuck him in there as a little tribute. :D And yes, Hermione's definitely in a pickle. *sigh* Perhaps someday... she'll figure out what's best for her. Glad you enjoyed, Rhiannon! -CC
Well, I'm glad that light has dawned on Hermione, though I feel sorry for Draco, who is being a decent human being. Terrific story.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Thank you! I shall endeavour for the next two chapters to be terrific as well! :) -CC
Oh, they were so close to kissing! Damn that Draco. But he is so cute and lovable now that you made him over into a nice guy. *Sigh*I guess it's off to see the world and realize she ended up with the wrong Slytherin.Excellent chapter, CC.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Oh, thank you! I'm glad you still like Draco. He is a bit clingy though. That kid's got some serious issues to work through. *sigh*
So very close. Poor Draco is going to be heartbroken, isn't he?
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Oh, Draco. Poor kid. He just had to get mixed up with our confuzzled Hermione. *sigh*
Ah, she's a fool. She needs to have a good think and not string Draco along.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
AND she's going on this round-the-world voyage with the kid. You'd think she'd have some sense... Oh, well. Hopefully she'll figure it out, soon. Thanks for the review!! -CC
Damn Nearly! I wonder what's going to happen now.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Gah! I know, I'm wondering the same thing. ;D Thanks for the stars,

I feel bad for Draco - he's got to be headed for heartbreak, and Hermione just wants to be nice...
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Yeah... He's got some issues to work out. :-/ She's gonna stick with him, though, until he does. *sigh* Oh, Hermione and her charity cases. (Someone needs to work on her, instead!) Thanks for the review (and the stars!). -CC
At least they decided it was a date, considering they had been around each other and flirting for the past month or so. A good choice, though I wonder if Hermione might soon have second thoughts after her one-on-one talk with Snape after the potions trials.Look forward to the next chapter...hoping to actually keep up with my reading now that school's out.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Good! Glad you enjoyed. :D The next chapter's in the queue, although when they'll decide to do anything about it, I'm not sure. (It's been in there for a week or two.) Anyway, thanks for your reviews!!
The whole setup by Tommi for Ron is such a move Ron would pull. I understand he feels horrible and doesn't think Hermione would listen if he approached her on his own, but you think he'd be able to do it himself, show he's grown up a bit.Poor Snape, has to see Hermione with Draco at the wedding and his grandma's dying. Not a good mail day.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Well, actually, Tommi made him do it. He's been moaning and groaning for the last couple of months, but he's never been able to gather the nerve to speak to Hermione in fear of mucking it up. Oh, well. Baby steps, I suppose. I think you'll like Ron in the end, though. :)
The looks on Harry and Ginny's faces must have been priceless indeed. Its a good way for you to account for Draco's change in behavior.
Poor Snape! goes through the whole thing to forget about Hermione, ends up seeing her, now has to chaperone Valentines Day. Doesn't sound like a good ending to the day.
Well, Its all been well written I just don't do Hermione and Draco. This has taken a big turn from the SS/HG that I expected. I hate to see it end at this place. Loved the scene of Severus and his Grandmother. Maybe your working through until she's finsihed with school to have her really get closer to Severus but they have already established she well of age. look for ward to more. Good work.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Oh, there are only two more chapters where she's involved with Draco... and only the next chapter where there's more Draco-canoodling. Hermione ends up realizing that she's got to stick with Draco b/c he needs someone to take care of him (oh, Hermione and her charity cases). But part two is already started and there is no draco whatsoever in that. Please stick with me! :[ I love your reviews! ;D
Enjoying this one too, you have a gift for SS/HG. The real Snape learning to give of himself. Good work.
Response from ConstantComment (Author of Carpe Diem, Part One)
Thank you! ^^
Very nice, i love the gentle way this is told. goood work.
