Reviews for At the Beach
This was such a well-written chapter, and the scenes withCarlos and Luca so tender - he will be the most wonderfulfather. I just couldn't help feeling sad for both Tessaand Luca that she wasn't able to stay and have a longer"holiday" so she could breastfeed. Sorry, it's thenurturing instinct coming to the fore.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I didn't want to mention it - I think it's the best thing a mother can do for her child - but of course she couldn't stay that long. The epilogue should be up soon. Thanks so much for reviewing!
That was an amazing chapter. But as I said before, I'm sad for her to have to leave her baby so soon. I know she doesn't have a choice, but were I her, I could never do this, even with the worst of circonstances.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Believe me, I am most grateful that I will never have to make such a crucial choice. I think I couldn't see it through either, but then the question occures, what else she could have done? Nothing, if she were to keep all children in a way. Epilogue should be up soon. I hope it will be satisfying.Oh - and thanks for reviewing!
Seems weird that you did a double entry with this chapter? Why. I loved the scens with Carlos/Severus and his daughter. I hope Tessa leaves Ron any way and soon.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I didn't actually, and in my account it shows up only once. Will let the admins know - thanks for telling me. And thanks for reading and reviewing!
Great chapter, beautiful blending of happy, sad and bittersweet emotions. The only thing is this chapter is posted twice. Double the pleasure lol.

Something's gone wrong with the submission, it seems. Will let the admins know. Thanks so much for reviewing!
That went better than anticipated. At least they agreed to spend the remainder of their time together and they both love each other. Severus thinks so little of himself; he actually believes Hermione will forget about him in time. I do not see that happening at all. I think this will motivate a D.I.V.O.R.C.E. If not that, perhaps yearly visits to the beach until the children are both in Hogwarts.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
He was certain she wouldn't forget him. He was equally certain that what she felt for him now would vanish quickly if he pushed into her life. Better to let her go.I usually don't do that, cite my own fic, but no, he doesn't think little of himself (not in this fic and actually, rarely in the fics I write). And he knows she won't forget him. Honestly - would you be satisfied with yearly visits? Wouldn't you want to see him more often *is curious and grins widely*Thanks for reviewing!

Oh, that was so lovely and so heartbreaking. And suspenseful, too -- wondering whether Hermione would bolt and not being sure right up until the moment of truth. Great chapter.

Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
There will be more chapters, although I cannot promise a happy end. Will post the next chapter sometime next week, and I truly hope you'll like it. It is definitely less sad. Thanks for reviewing!

Please tell me ths is not the end. She can't just go away like that. After all she said she loved him. She's just going back into England to seek for a divorce and they move definitely with her children to the mountains of Hawaï. Please, Please, Please, Please, Please.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
All right, then, there will be more chapters - but only because of you!*grins widely*Naturally, this story has to continue. The next chapter will go into queue sometime this week. But I'm sorry to say so - if she gets divorced, Ron will get the kids. Or Molly, to be precise. Thanks for reviewing!P.S. You thought this is set in Hawai? I always imagined Jamaica, but didn't want to bother with too much background information.
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
I said Hawai because I thought I read it somewhere in the story. I was not particularly imaginning a precise location but are there mountains in Jamaica?
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Oh, yes. They grow their ganja there ;-) I considered, wine would be the better choice for Snape.

This is a beautifully written story. The words and phrases you weave prompt such lovely images and evoke genuine emotions. Keep up the good work!

*blushes*Thanks so much for your lovely words! I wanted this story slow, easy, and sort of bittersweet. Seems I managed it!

Wow! That she didn't run away, she wanted to know how he felt about her now. Awesome. But what will happen now? Will she come back? Will he go after her? I can't wait to read what happens next!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Let me tell you that much - there's a plan (she has to find out about yet, but there is)Thanks for reviewing - next chapter will go into queue soon.

Boy, am I glad to see that this isn't the last chapter! I am hoping for a happy ending, but it will be better even if Hermione never returns to her Carlos, if she leaves Ron, fights for he kids, and gives them (and herself) a better life.Thank you for the update!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Wow, that's definitely a first - someone wishing she doesn't go back to the one she loves and who loves her! You, dear, are cruel ;-)Fighting for the kids is not an option, though. Sole custody for Ron if she gets divorced, and no way out of it. I'll explain in the next chapter. Thanks for reviewing!
Response from pookah (Reviewer)
Oh! I didn't mean it woudld be better if she didn't return to Severus (although I can see the custody thing would be dificult to get around) I meant it would still be better for Hermione if she got on with her own life, EVEN if she didn't have love as well. But the way I phrased it was confusing, sorry!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
*phew* You got me there, dear! The next chapter is Hermione-centric, and I truly hope you'll like it, with her figuring out what she wants and how to get it ;-)
Response from pookah (Reviewer)
I hope she can get what she wants, and I hope Severus can get what he wants, too! I am a sucker for a happy ending! hmmm. I usually don't apporve of murder, but I imagine one or the other of those two could figure out an untraceable poison for a pesky redhead. Just Joking, I think.

oh God! That was beautiful! The slow build-up, all that passion, wow!And to now know it is Hermione. What will happen next, i wonder?
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Ah - a lot, I can tell you that much. They talk, most of all, which is good. Without talking, they wouldn't find a way around the problem that she is married and will go back to Ron.Thanks for revieiwng!

I was glad to see that wasn't the last chapter. I cannot wait till we find out what direction their relationship will turn. As with most readers, I believe Snape deserves a better fate. I hope he doesn't lose this lady love too. He deserves happiness.
Response from geomancer (Reviewer)
I guess I should mention, I believe she deserves happiness too!
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I'm with you, dear. They both deserve happyness. And I will post the next chapter soon! Thanks for reviewing!

This chapter is possibly the best one in this story.... so far. I was so happy to know that Hermione did not want to rush away from Severus' hut. They have both changed a lot. Severus most of all, I think. But now that she has gone, they will have to content themselves with their memories... or not. I hope that Severus will ultimately follow her, or she will return to him on the island.A lovely, touching chapter about two people who have unwittingly fallen in love with each other. Well done!Beth
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Thanks so much for your lovely words! I am especially glad that - so far - no one accused me to have painted them too much OOC. They both have changed; it seems they are both still recogniseable. But... he can't follow her. That leaves it up to her to find a way. If she wants to *grins*Thanks for reviewing!

what a beautiful chapter. like many others, i had to go check the index to see if it said "complete," in which case i would have been sitting here crying my eyes out. i liked your explanation about the magic of the flower tattoo and the bracelet. and i liked how you wrote the conversation between them.
i loved this: "He didn't move and didn't flinch from her touch. It was highly unlikely that she would touch him again once she had accepted the truth." that was the first image that made my eyes damp.
i understand why this is how it needed to be for now, but i am really looking forward to seeing what happens in the future. :D
one tiny thing: "God gods" should be "Good gods." (i can rein her in a bit, but i can't seem to turn off the beta in me completely.)
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Hi, dear!*hugs you* Mistake corrected - thanks for pointing it out to me. What would I do without you? My beta Dreamy commented on the flower tatoo early in the story, when I first meniton it. She said she can't see Snape getting tattooed after having branded with the Dark Mark, so I needed a real good explanation. I wanted Carlos tattooed - so this is what I came up with. Glad you liked it!Next chapter will go into queue soon, promise.
Response from kittylefish (Reviewer)
hmm. that's a good point about the tattoo. i hadn't thought about the dark mark, though i did think snape and sunflower tattoo did not really belong in the same sentence. but i figured there would be a good reason, and look! you came up with a really good one. :)

Aww. I am glad that they did not react too badly to finding out who they really were. It is also sweet that they fell in love, but sad that they never got to say those words. I wonder where it will go from here? I can't wait for your next update, dear!

For a split second there I thought that was the end of the fic. I had to go back to the index page and see if it said "complete". Whew! Glad that's NOT over. LOL I'm also glad that they know each other now. Somehow I don't think Hermione will so easily forget Carlos as Snape seems to think she will. I expect Hermione to find some way around Ron taking her children. Honestly, I wouldn't imagine he'd want full custody since he will be traveling with his team so much. It seems it would be better for all parties if Hermione could take the children and Ron could come visit when he's home. I wonder if Snape will show the world he is alive or if Hermione will move to the island? Hmm...
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
Doesn't matter if he would want full custody or not - Molly would get it for him ;-) And do you really think the Ron I painted in this story would just go and visit his ex-wife who's living with Snape??Can't answer your questions, dear, although I am tempted to do so. You'll have to wait for the next chapter ;-)Thanks for reviewing!

Exquisite. If they had not gotten to know one another before they knew who the other was, this tender, beautiful scene would never have been possible. As it is, you allowed them time to understand the essential truths about each other so that the facts wouldn't end up interfering with their feelings. Beautifully done. And I was so terrified that you would end it here, but I see suggestions that there is more to tell, and I'm delighted. I am actually much more curious about the next few months/years for Hermione than for Severus/Carlos. I'd rather hear about them (awful though they will have to be!) firsthand, yet you've set this up to be his story, so I guess I'll have to wait to find out how things are going with her.He could destroy her simply by following his heart. Perhaps. But he could also save her.
Response from chivalric (Author of At the Beach)
I guess you might like to know that the next chapter will be told from her POV ;-) Thank you so much for your lovely review. It's good to get feedback that tells me what others think, as sometimes, I have no idea what my words might trigger. Of course there are more chapters to come, I never intended to end it here. I can be cruel, but I won't in this story. Maybe, they need to save each other...

I am desperately hoping that this is not the end. After such a wonderful story you wouldn't rip my heart out like that -- would you? No! So I am just going to wait patiently by my computer until you post another chapter. I have every faith that it won't be THAT long a wait. Thanks for sharing, JoAnne

Reading this story feels so different. I can't really explain, but I like it very much!!! It is so finely spun and I'm very excited to see how their story continues (It does, doesn't it?). Great work!!Cheers, gab
