Born: in the glorious year of 1979, when Dio joined Black Sabbath and Peter Pettigrew started passing on information to the Dark Lord
Colours: black, green, silver
Passions: writing, cooking, baking, witchcraft
Obsessions: quite a few, chocolate for one (hi Lupin!), but mainly a certain Potions master and a blond DE.
When I am not writing alone, I co-write with my favourite Ravenclaw star_girl. Look for sevs_starsisters to find our stories.
Published writer since 2014. Original fiction is good fun, but I find myself returning to fan fiction every now and then

Beautifully written lemons, I am glad that they finally gave in... But you don't want to tell me that nobody recognised Severus Snape there at the party?
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Who should have recognised him? All Muggles, remember?Glad you liked the lemons.Cheers. /M
Response from Muggline (Reviewer)
Well - how about Cassandra? She must have been at Hogwarts when he was there, she already mentioned that he resembled someone she knew from school...

They're getting there ... deep breaths ;-)

Frockcoats and billowing cloaks, he can do! I'm on the edge of my seat with curiousity.

I've read the chapter already at SH and just re-read it - and am again enraptured by your Minerva. I love the style she writes her postcards in, very fitting and quite sweet!
It's a lovely chapter, and the big surprise at the end really made me laugh out loud - Severus and a goth party indeed! *giggles*. What I really do love is how you describe the insecurities of both, but particularly of Severus so nicely and so "speakingly".
Author's Response: Thank you, once more, for the lovely review, Alcina.
I am growing very fond of Minerva. The more I think about it, the more she reminds me of one of my old teachers. She wrote postcards like that, too.
Severus at a Goth party, hehe. I have to say that this was one of my better ideas ;-)
Thanks for being such a faithful reader and reviewer.
Tschüs! /M
Ha! She might indeed be surprised. On the other hand, he might also be more recognisable that way – and I wonder whether these "friends of hers" know him from the past, too...
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Huh, such theories! It will be nice to have the billowing robes back, won't it?Cheers. /M

Hooray! Severus has screwed his courage to the sticking place, and gone out on the ledge that he has feared for so long. And now he will be wearing his frockcoat and robes for the first time in five years. This is such a wonderful story, and I look forward to each and every update!!!Well done!Beth

You didn't tell wether he liked the tea or not *pout*
;o) Just kidding. Lovely chapter, it's soooo nice to see how they get to know each other better and how they obviously suit together. The "complication" about the witch question is simply great and really well done . I love this scenario very much, when a Rowling witch/mage meets a "pagan witch" or learns in other ways about the in-betweens between their own world and the plain muggle world... and how surprised they are always about it. It will be quite interesting to see how Severus reacts in the long run - and how much of a witch Cassanra really is. I do have some suspicions, I must confess! ;o)
Another point that really intrigques me is what Nicodemus' averison is about.
Author's Response: Ok, are you stereo-reading at two archives at once or am I getting insane??
Knowing me, option #2 is quite plausible. *walks away mumbling to herself*
Alcina vom Steinsberg's response: *hands Morgaine a soothing cup of camomile tea* No, you're not insane. Usually, I read on TPP, but as I just discovered more chapters over there, I simply couldn't resist - I hope you don't mind ;o). And don't mind it, too, that I mainly copied my reviews. I made the experience that some readers go by reviews for choosing a story, so I try to do my little bit recommending what I like ;o).
Author's Response: Oh, you're sweet. Thanks for the tea :-)
I see our Potions Master still likes to feel in charge: ‘Thought I told you not to bring anything,’ she said in a slightly accusing tone.‘No, you told me not to bring you flowers,’ Severus retorted. He noticed that his voice had the same tone he had once used to reprimand students. And he had to admit that he secretly enjoyed seeing Cassandra blush.I just about fell out of my chair when she told him she was a witch. I don't know if she is a witch of the Wizarding world or a witch of nature and natural healing, but this is getting very interesting! She is a deft hand at preparing ingredients, and she noticed how well Severus had executed his task.Nicodemus' behavior made me wonder if her were Cassandra's familiar. Very interesting, don't you think? They had enjoyed each other's company so much that they made another date for next Thursday. AND SHE KISSED HIM! Happy, happy, joy, joy! This is getting better and better! Beth

Cassandra is obviously wanting to get to know Severus Smythe better. Name AND phone number! She is serious. It's fun reading about Shy!Severus, and I'm glad he has found someone to be interested in. He deserves something good in his life.A DATE! They have a date for Saturday! I can't wait to find out what happens, so I'm off to your next chapter.Beth

It's a lot of fun writing Severus like this, having taken away everything that defines him: Hogwarts, Slytherin, Potions, billowing robes and the scowl, and instead adding shyness, insecurity and a date! Glad you like it! /M

I'm so happy that Cassandra and Severus have begun a friendship. Maybe it will become more.Reading Cassandra's reason for not returning to England after her husband had been killed – ‘Let’s say that I had married way below family standards. They did not really welcome me back with open arms.’ – had me wondering if she were from a Wizarding family? Is that where you are leading us?I'm very intrigued with this tale!Beth

A delightful beginning for a story of Severus Snape making a new life for himself after choosing to leave the Wizarding world behind. It is fitting that he now earns his keep as an anaesthesiologist.Cassandra's laughter and irresistible smile has attracted him more than any woman in a very long time.I look forward to seeing where this journey will take me.Beth

Can't wait to find out what happens next. I'm quite certain she's a real witch. Thanks for an enjoyable update.
Author's Response: You're thinking a lot faster than dear Severus is.
I'm very glad you like all this and want to thank you very much for reading and reviewing. /M

Oh, first date jitters. Great chapter.
Author's Response: I hate first dates.

Great chapter, I am really enjoying this story. I like the idea of Severus knowing it's a sorry excuse for a dinner. I do that myself sometimes.
Author's Response: Ha, you're the first one who says that. Normally people get upset and say: 'He must know how to cook, he's the Potions master'. Yeah, yeah ;-)
So glad you're enjoying my little story! /M

Ah, ha--Severus nearly spills his popcorn in the lobby. When you get to Ch 16 of Soroche, some aspects may seem familiar to you. I'm pleased that I'm not the only one who thinks Snape would not be a super-smooth lover right off the bat.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
... spills his popcorn in the lobby ... best expression EVER!I think there is a difference between fiction and plain old wishful-thinking. Sure, I like to think that Snape is THE most skilful lover as well, but in some stories - like this one - it's just not plausible.Hope you'll keep on reading and enjoying. /M
B-E-A-UTIFUL story! Hanky was needed a few times. Good thing the story was already done, or I would be pestering you to post MORE NOW! But luckily, I could just click my way to the next wonderful chapter!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Very glad you liked it! This story is a personal favourite of mine.
Nice chapter. I can imagine Minerva... actually, no! I can see her trying to arrange everything... lol.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Busy bee that one :-)Have a nice weekend./M
Well... another stellar chapter. You just have to love Minerva, don't ya?
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Minerva is yet another character who was just tossed aside by JKR, imho. Thanks for the shinies!/M
At last!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Wouldn't have been any fun if they'd said it in chapter two, right? ;-)I'm very glad you're enjoying this.Cheers. /M
Great chapter and very reassuring. I still have the feeling that there is some middle-ground. Not everything is a case of this for you and that for me.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
I can't be horrid all the time, can I? Well, yes, I can ... but that wouldn't be any fun;-)
Horrible. But extremely well-wriiten.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Just re-read the chapter myself. Wonder how I came up with all this!Cheers. /M

Oh, the choices! Nice chapter. Thank you.
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Terrible choices. Just like in real life./M
I have my cuppa. Lovely chapter. I really enjoy this style and the gentle flow. It's like the parallax error but for writing rather than vision. Here you have something seemingly much shallower than it actually is, and the impact is the same as leaping into what you are convinced is a shallow puddle, and it turns out to be a depthless spring. It is so good!
Response from morgaine_dulac (Author of The Way Home)
Thank you so much!/M
