To all my devoted readers and reviewers just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about my little tale that has been neglected over the past few years. As stated in my previous update, real life got in the way, but I feel ready to write again.

Thank you do much for your review, I've just gotten back Chapter One, Part I, from my kick butt beta Severus Love Us, so as soon as I make the corrections, it will be submitted.
Very strong beginning. Is the entire story going to be written in drabbles or is this just a teaser for what comes next?

Thank you very much, the prologue is just a teaser to set the mood for the piece. I plan on writing longer chapters as the story moves forward, but we shall see.

I was thinking the same thing as Severus, if the students leave the grounds they will never be seen again. Scary! Yaxley and Umbridge as lovers? Ewwwww I hope no one catches them in the dark corners of the castle.

What does this mean: “You’re free, Mo Cuishle.” The irony of Lily giving Severus a copy of Crime & Punishment is rather dramatic isnt it? Makes you wonder who followed who into hell.

Mo Cuishle means my heart or my darling. Sorry, it's taken me a while to get back with you, RL has been hectic, plus my pc died on me, luckily I was able to get a new one on black friday, relatively cheap. On an up note I've written chapter 11 and sent it off be my beta, SLU.

Umbridge is just as dangerous now as she has ever been. And Dumbledore is still one step ahead of her... for now at any rate.I was happy to see that Hermione has lost nothing of her spirit where Professor Snape is concerned: “Perhaps I did not make myself clear the other day, or you are in need of reminder? There is not and will never be anything between us, so I would greatly appreciate it if you would kindly refrain from including me in your childish, hormonal fantasies of flight.” “Professor, I must respectfully disobey your order.” Hermione’s tone dared him to defy her. “Silly chit,” she heard him mutter softly under his breath. A self-satisfied smirk danced upon her lips. See how you like it to have someone under your skin, my dear professor, Hermione thought wickedly as she sauntered away heading toward the loo. It will not be easy for either Hermione or Severus in the coming days and weeks, but I know that when all is said and done, they will be able to acknowledge their feelings for one another... I have to believe it...Thanks for the update. I've missed "Melancholy Whore." It's a fabulous story!!!Beth

The arm band reminds me of the Second WW when Juws were to wear a yellow star on their clothes. And considering the result that was NOT to help them. All I can hope I can hope is that this war is gonna end soon so they can be together.

It will get better I promise, thank you so much for your review and rating, I've been without a pc since mine has died, I hope to be able to buy a new one soon. So sad to say, Melancholy Whore has been put on hold for the time being, as the only time I'm able to get on a pc is during lunch breaks at work.

I have been away from the story for a while so I had to read it over from the beginning. Powerful stuff. Snape walks such a fine line and his machinations behind the scenes are brilliant. Hermione has a terrible burden to bear. Is it necessary that it remain a secret? Other than the utter humiliation of the situation. I was shocked that after the Snape's blood bond Hermione became so verbally abusive. Especially resorting to using his enemies' slurs upon his person. It is a wonder Snape is able to hold it together at all. Umbridge remains a great villian. She is beyond creepy.

Cordy! Stars and garters, girl, I've missed you! And thank you for his wonderful update. Woo hoo!I hope that Dumbledore won't insist on calling in a psychiatrist. I think that would be one of the worst decisions he could make. Please let Severus figure out a way to help Hermione before that can happen. We do expect miracles from our Potions master, don't we?If Dumbles does say anything to Hermione about sending her to Dr. Morelay, I predict that her previous display of uncontrolled magic in the Infirmary will look like a picnic in the park.BTW, I love your inspired bit of Muggle poetry: "With every step I take, I draw closer to the gallows." It's brilliant, succinct, and I think it illustrates Severus' frame of mind perfectly! Thank you, thank you, thank you for this great update. I am in love with this this story.

Thank you very much for your update! I have been waiting for it for too long time. Frankly, I am disappointed. I want you to bring my favourite pair closer as soon as possible. I broke up with my boyfriend whom I love so much and whom I need now. But I do not have the choice. I suffocate without him. I need something positive in my life, and fanfics is the only way how to bring at least virtual lovers together. Please forgive me for my outburst, but I feel devastated.

I suppose he had to erase the signs of his breakdown as it shows a break in his loyalty to the Dark Lord. He must always be thinking this way in order to protect others, even if he ends up hurting himself. This is so heartbreaking. Especially as it seems he is ready to move on from Lily.
