To all my devoted readers and reviewers just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about my little tale that has been neglected over the past few years. As stated in my previous update, real life got in the way, but I feel ready to write again.
Reviews for Melancholy Whore
Ok, that Umbridge cow has tortured Hermione, is Severus trying to help her? This is very well writen, but very dark, thanks for the warnings.
Oh please --- waiting, waiting for this to finish. I've only read the very beginning and just can't go on lest I get caught on a cliffie!
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Thank you so much for the R&R Alison. I apologize for not having updated in a few months, but I've been dealing with some major life altering setbacks and just have been otherwise busy. I do hope to finish chapter 24 in the future, and promise that this fiction will be completed, it just might take longer than I expected.
Response from Alison33 (Reviewer)
I completely understand real life needing your attention I hope that things improve for you. Your story has provided welcome relief and escape from multiple family crisis on this end. Thank you
My that was hot. I have always wondered if Umbridge tried to use her collegues sexually. Makes it all so twisted doesnt it? ((bounces))
Can Severus help her or would it be more like the blind leading the blind? I am uncertain. I am all sorts of worried.
OMG the fealty! I hope Severus continues to burn off her excess magic in similar ways!!

major life altering setbacks does not sound good my friend. Please deal with real life as well as you can. Me and Severus and fandom will be here when you have time again. ((hugs))
I have had panic attacks in my past, it seems like Hermione is suffering from the magical version. Im a squib you see. I do wish that Severus could get her alone. I think he could help her. "We are not pawns to be moved around a board, old man." Fucking manipulative bastard albus dumbledore. Grrrrrrrr
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Panic attacks are horrid, I too, had suffered them for years, and always felt like I was having a heart attack and like I could crawl out of my flesh. So those 'episodes' inspired Hermione's response. Yep, Dumbledore is an ass-hat.
Oh I had thought Snape was Yaxley's murderer, but now I remember the conversation with LM. You are sneaky. There must be lots of OC death eaters that we dont know about that allows Riddle to kill a handful in one go and not worry about replacements. Would it be wrong of me to comment that I wish Umbridge would have been taken out as well? Bloodthirsty!molly
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
And deprive Snape of the opprotunity to do the deed himself, I think he might be a little put out LOL. No, he has plans for Madam Umbridge.
I do however condone violence as a means to end Yaxley. Guns to slay death eaters works just fine for me. Go Snape!
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Yes, Snape is clever in his plots and ploys to ensure his and Hermione's survival. Exactly the guy you would want for a wing man.
Sorry I have be absent of late. It has nothing to do with you or this fantastic story. My appologies. Friends still? You cannot imagine the horrible picture that came into my head when I paused at A shark’s smile, feral, against coral-painted lips. I got goose bumps and I got a bit freaked out. I sincerely hope that getting AD and MM sick is enough to post pone the ministry trip? I am nervous.
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Of course, we're still friends Well Umbridge is such a nasty piece of work, and I would be nervous, as she's well, an evil toady. It's great to hear from you again
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
and thank you kindly for the R&R.
Delores Umbridge is one of the "squickiest" characters in the Wizarding world, and you've written her so well. I can imagine how hard it was for Severus to stand there while she fondled him and tried to get him to "pleasure" her. *shudders*I love Severus' response when she grabbed him: “My brother is not yet cold.” What a great way for him to tell her what he thinks of her attempted seduction! But the absolute best put down of all was his final dismissal of her: “Do clean up. You are beginning to drip on my floor.” Go, Snape!I like how you tied in the smell of Delores' chosen fragrance– "the stench of the overly floral body oil she preferred– with the over powering "sickly sweet scent of gardenia and jasmine" that caused Hermione to lose it outside Dr. Morelay's office in Chapter 21.Thanks for this update!Beth
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
I had to supress a shudder or two while writing this chapter, the visual images alone were enough to give me nightmares. I will say this will not be the last 'encounter' that Umbridge will have with our Potions master. Thank you so much Beth, for taking the time to read and review.
That, Umbridge's seduction, is one of the ickiest things I have ever read. And I've read some shocking things. Well done to you, I must say. For having first the courage and then the stomach to include something so distasteful. And then for doing it well.
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Thank you so much for your kind an generous words,
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
. I must say that I did have difficulty in writing Snape with Umbridge, the visual image alone was enough to give me nightmares LOL. Again, thank you for taking the time to read and review.
Snape is soooo gooood. Ohhh, that umbridge, she's gonna get hers one way or another!
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Thanks for the R&R
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
! Yes, Umbridge will meet her demise and Snape will be there, but that's for another chapter ;)
very good. I hate this situation. Umbridge is truly evil.
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
That she is
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
, but Severus shall take her down a peg or two. Thanks for the R&R.
Very well written. Such a disgusting act for Severus, but I'm sure he's had to do worse things. Actually, seeing Umbridge like that was probably entertaining for him. I can not wait until Severus finally does her in!Livvy
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
I have a feeling Severus might disagree with you on that one Livvy. At this point I think he gladly undertake any order the Dark Lord gave him, though he does so enjoy Umbridge being beholden to him, even I don't think he can stomach the deed. Thank you so much for you kind words and for taking the time to review.
Ew...sex with Umbridge in any form is demeaning - unless it's for all the power!
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Yeah, I had a tough time, even writing the words. Snape is going to need some liquid courage to accomplish such a distasteful task. *Shudders* not a mental image I need, I might end up in therapy along side Hermione. Thank you
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
for the review.
I have no idea what is going on, but the thought of Snape viciously killing her makes me happier than it should.
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
You would not be the only one to hold that opinion, Snape for one cannot wait until Umbridge meets her demise.Thank you for taking the time to review,

just discovered this and quite like the darkness. I don't like my hg/ss all pretty and sweet. To me that isn't them at all. Are you (we are we come along for the ride)nearing the end or will this expand to epic proportions?
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Thank you for the R&R Alison. I have Chapters 20, 21, and 22 written and am just waiting to get them back from my beta/ and am in the process of looking for a temp. beta for those chapters. I have Chapter 23 outlined and hope to have some free time to complete soon. Again, thank you for your R&R.

i am loving this! i wish to read more. i pretty much read the entire thing in one night. Hermione should tell Poppy about the Fealty, just not the Severus part. i mean, it would explain a lot and maybe poppy could help somehow. Seveus is a complicated character, and you have succeeded in giving him many sides, like a 12-sided dice. I like him a lot i this, he's not portrayed as the usual broken-man, but we also see his violent streak and the affects of the dark mark. i give you an A+
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Oh wow! Thank you so much
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
. As for Hermione telling Poppy about the Fealty I do not believe she feels confident or comfortable to confide in anyone but Severus for the moment. And as for your wish to read more Chapters 20 and 21 are with my beta, so as soon as I get them back I will post them to the queue. Please feel free to check my profile page as I will list updates to Melancoly Whore when they occur. Again, thank you for the R&R.
I'm sorry if you've explained this already, but why hasn't Hermione told/shown Poppy or Dumbledore that Umbridge has done what she has? If anyone else would understand, it would be those two. Excellent story! Such an original premise! These are the kind of stories I love to get hooked on! Something different - yeah!!!!
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Thank you for your review Severus94. As for Hermione not telling Poppy or Dumbledore, Umbridge made her take a vow not to tell a soul about the Fealty. That and she doesn't completely trust anyone outside of Severus regarding this matter.Chapter 20 is with my beta and Chapter 21 is practically finished, so be on the lookout for new chapters.Again thanks for reviewing.
It keeps getting better and better! More!Livvy
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Thank you so much Livvy. Chapter 20 is with my beta and Chapter 21 is about three-quarters complete.
I actually really liked the scene at the church. It is not at all beyond the realm of consideration that Severus would keep to the Catholic faith. After all, with his sins building up, he could probably take comfort in the idea of penance and confession. He certainly did his part to attempt to right his wrongs, and the intensity of his guilt does point to a strong sense of right and wrong. You can get morals from other places than religion, of course, but what you've done here fits neatly with what other things we have seen.

, I apologize for the lateness of my reply, but RL has been busy. I am very glad you liked Chapter 6, and Chapter 19 has just been posted. CAS
I don't like his final words one bit. In fact I'm a bit scared of what's on his mind. And it's good to have you back.
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Thank you so much for the R&R,

. Don't worry, I think Severus has it all under control (for the most part). Chapter 19 is with my beta, and Chapter 20 is roughly 2/3 done, so stay tuned.
Response from snitchette (Reviewer)
Chapter 19 is with my beta, and Chapter 20 is roughly 2/3 done, so stay tuned. Yeah! Sure I will!
Bloody amazing story. I've just read up to this chapter in one sitting and I've been totally mesmerised. It's just wonderful when someone writes with such clarity, intuition and exceptional dialogue not to mention the great storyline. The Potions Master's angst and total desperation is vividly described. As is his abject horror at yet again another Gryffindor rejecting him. Bad Hermione (she doesn't deserve him. Neither did Lily). I was particularly affected by an earlier chapter when he soothed her migraine with temple massage. An older man did that to me when I was sixteen and it still goes down as one of the most erotic moments of my life! (Kudos in abundance my dear. Best wishes, Love Ali xxxx.
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Wow, I think you for your kind, generous and thoughful words, they are greatly appreciated.
I agree, I do not believe Lily was deserving of his total love and devotion for some 20 odd years. Hermione on the other hand, she has many an issue to work through, but I think, she'll be true to our Potions Master.Chapter 19 is with my beta, and deals heavily with the fallout of Severus' actions and his relationship with Dumbledore. Chapter 20 is a WIP.Again, Ali, I thank you for your kind words and for reading.
Thank you for this awesome chapter. I loved seeing Voldemort's timely (if wrongly place) blame for Yaxley's death. It just goes to prove what we already knew: don't mess with Snape.I hope Hermione and Justin will be all right when they wake up. I know that Hermione will probably require some reassurance from Severus that she will be okay and that she was not the target of the attack. I wonder what the Potions Master will tell her... surely he won't tell her that he had arranged for Lucius to kill Yaxley and have it look like Covington was the attacker. It was a nifty piece of plotting to have the Polyjuiced Malfoy use a Muggle gun to do the deed. Well done! And I can't wait to find out just what plan Dumbledore and Severus have come up with to "whore" the Potions Master out to fool Umbridge into thinking that she is in control. This should be good. Bloody, but good!
Response from CordyAngelSeer (Author of Melancholy Whore)
Not to be be too spoilery, but Chapter 19 deals heavily with the aftermath of Severus' plotting, in particular its affect on Hermione, and our Potions Master already strained relationship with a certain Headmaster.
Severus is clever in his ploy with Lucius, loyalty, though does come at a price, and knowing Malfoy, with interest.
Thank you for taking the time to R&R, Beth, Hopefully, I'll be getting chapter 19 back from my beta, and Cpater 20 is a WIP.
