Whoa. Stunned. What can Hermione do when she is eventually found and they are reunited. If it is the truth, you can't change the facts. They need to be together to live. They complete each other, they love each other. He is the same person, he just has a completely different element added to his personal history. If one of them dies, so does the other. They are trapped. Whether she accepts the Dark Lords politics or not he is saving both of their lives. What emotional turmoil. Poor Severus, as if he has not been through enough. Now he knows that Bella's interest in him to not her own, but an order she was following. The only selfless love he has ever know has been the love of his wife.

OMG!!!your story becomes more and more twisted...I really can't say what to expect next time...will the DL win???and Albus???and, more important still: will our couple meet again???I'm despairing for an happy end...and it seems more improbable then ever. But I have faith in you: YOU WILL GIVE IT, WON'T YOU??? (that is God voice by the way...He too wants an happy end).

Well I'm glad the new chapter is finally up. I've been checking back almost every day because your story is my absolute favorite HP fanfic I've ever read. I was thinking how longer chaptered fics usually tend to lose my interest because so many different things go on and the focus gets lost. However, your story is still fantastic at 54. I'll just say I'm a little apprehensive on how this Voldemort being Snape's father will go down, but I'm sure you've got a plan that will probably make me squee in happiness when everything goes down : )Can't wait for the next chapter!

I actually wondered about that when the Dark Lord had Severus drink from his crystal and it seemed so similar to Severus', but I dismissed the idea because of what Severus said about his birth father...Does this part:  Albus’s voice echoed, taunted faintly. Because, quite simply, if it were within his shredded soul to love anyone, he would love you, Severus.  mean Albus knew all along?!?Poor Severus!  Poor Hermione!I really hope the next chapter gets posted soon!

I believe that this was the most masterful twist in your story.  Poignantly ironic. 

I used to call Jo the "Master of Misdirection" (at least, until her horrific Book # 7), and others here have called you the "Queen of Angst".  But I think I prefer this title:  "Master Manipulator of Miracles"---because by god that is what you DO!  You pull not only rabbits but dinosaurs out of hats all day long with every chapter, and in this one you've even pulled out a blankety-blank Hungarian Horntail, screaming fire and slashing all our hopes to dust.  Yet---Master Manipulator of Miracles----I've no doubt you have yet MANY more 'miracles' for us up your sleeve in coming chapters!  Only---one request---please pull off the biggest miracle of all, and let this story not end as a tragedy, but as a wonderful victorious miracle of happiness for Severus and Hermione, both for their sakes to reward them for all the suffering they've had to go through, and for our sakes who've sufferend through it with them!Bravo, bravo, and bravo!

I've never loathed AD more than I do now.  Voldy, dare I say it, comes across as more sympathetic here--but of course he can and will be, since Severus is totally at his mercy.  Oh Severus.  Oh, Hermione!!

I loved the bit with the scents, how you tied that in. Scent can stir so many emotions. I still sleep with my hubby's shirts when he has to go away on deployment or training. I can relate. I just simply love this story and... everything... yeah.

Wow! What a twist! I wondered about the goblets before, but I figured that Snape would notice they were missing, and that someone snuck into his rooms and stole them, meaning the death eaters had access to hogwarts...But I like this twist much better! But how to you explain the freakishly large nose, from a father with no nose?

Whoa!  I didn't see that coming!  And dear lord.  What the heck is he doing?  Hermione will be crushed ... and yet ... well, I see all sort os possibilities for getting them out of this, but I suspect that even that isn't what you have planned, that Hermione would not be able to help but stay with him, even if she could never completely forgive his betrayal.  Betrayal.  Yikes. They've both been doing a lot of betraying lately, haven't they?  Very intense chapter, Mia.  Well done!

*tee hee* When I read the line It is time for you to take your place at my side, it reminded me of Darth Vader talking to Luke in Star Wars:  The Empire Strikes Back.  Then I get to the end of the chapter and we definitely have another Darth Vader / Luke Skywalker moment.  This whole chapter is so intriguing.  I keep thinking that I maybe know where you are going next, but then you add another twist to the plot.  I am so curious as to how you will resolve the conflict.  I sure am hoping there's a happy ending in it for the wizarding world, Severus, and Hermione.  Well done, again, mia!
