Although on different sides of the war, Severus and Hermione work together, each for their own reasons. This is my take on the events following HBP and will lead up to the Dark Lord's demise.

Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
The next chapter has been with my beta forever. :) I wonder if she's forgotten about it. LOL Maybe I'll just go through it myself and correct anything she finds later on. Anyway, thank you so much.
Excellent new chapter! Throwing an angry Ron into the mix, ay? I shudder to think what will happen and who he went to at the Three Broomsticks!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Glad you liked it :) I'll have more of this one up soon. I'm in the groove. Hahaha
Ah, Ron. He's really got to be hurt by this. And Hermione really doesn't know where her head is, does she?
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Very hurt. I'll make sure to take care of him though. :)
Don't think I've mentioned how much I love this story yet. I do. I've only read this chapter 3 times since last night!!! -what else does one have to do between 12am and 6am? What is Rabastan up to? Poor Ron. -oh Hermione & Severus...denial, denial, denial...you're such a great tease & wonderful story teller. I really do enjoy your writing...between this, Becoming Whole, the Lost Corridor, etc... I'm checking my PP addiction daily. Hey, if one is going to have an addiction - reading is a good one right JK I mean SW69!LOVE your work! need. more. weekly not enough. no. pressure. ...having too much fun with emotions tonight...I think I'll find something to read...

~grin~ Thank you! :)
I just started reading this -- very good! I'm definitely looking forward to the rest with very little patience, which takes a lot of nerve since I read it all in one day!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
LOL Thanks for reading. I'm happy you like it so far.
I love this story. I just wish you'd write it faster! :P
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
I wish i could write all day likei used to. :)
I'm not sure if I've left a review before but I'm really enjoying this story and can't wait to see how it all ends. Keep up the good work, and keep updating!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Either way, I'm glad to hear from you. I hope you continue to like it! More up soon.
I liked the opening scene a lot, with all the affection and confusion, and the way the chapter closed with a reminder of that opening scene. Wonder when everyone is going to get honest about what's going on?
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thank you! :) I tried to bring it back around. More up soon.
Ohhh I loved this chapter, and I hope Severus is falling for her, and I hope they have a happy ending.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
I think he is, and I'm sure they will. :)
I rather like the way you describe Rodolphus, Rabastan etc - they're not two-dimensional, unequivocally evil, but rather you show them as human beings. Good work! And the tension between SS and HG is awww so sweetly done.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks. :) I try to do that with Death Eaters sometimes. I saw how the Malfoys were described in the last book, and it proved my theory. They're bad blokes, but they're still humans.
It'd better not all be an act! It doesn't seem it is, though.
Poor Ron. I almost feel bad for him. Then again, sneaking a look at other people's pensieves and memories not meant for them is usually not the right thing to do! It might have been better after all if Harry and McGonagall had told him of the play-acting, but then again, as Ron has personal feelings involved, it might not have helped completely anyway.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
I think he got a bit carried away, and then he tried to play it off as an act. :) I'll have more about Ron soon. :)
Regulus Black became an inferi--that was just chilling. Wormtail's death sounded so gruesome, too. I wonder if the Dark Lord thinks that his Horcrux is lying at the bottom of that lake. Rabastan seemed sincere in his attempt to make a fresh start with Hermione. Perhaps he thinks if they have to make a run for it, the "they" will consist of himself, Severus and Hermione. Severus seemed jealous seeing Rabastan and Hermione together even though they were just talking, and Hermione did seem jealous over talk of a past love of Severus's. Guilt and Severus's inconsistent behavior seems to be what is holding back Hermione's affection. Logic is what seems to be holding back Severus's affection. As to what will win in the end, only SW69 knows. Ron is predictably pissed even though he does rationally know why he was left out of the loop. Feelings do get in the way, however, and I am sure Ron is headed to see Lavender.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Wormtail met a sticky end, the git. :) Yes, Voldemort is furious b/c he thinks Rabastan and Wormtail have caused him to lose another Horcrux (as Lucius did with the diary one). Rabastan is truly coming around to the idea of Hermione being an "equal." That will come up again very, very soon.I'll have more up about Severus' feelings soon (and Hermione's). And, of course, we're gonna see what Ron's up to (he did go to Lavender, yes).
Very smooth for an un-beta'd chapter, Southern. A typo here, a typo there... nothing big or distracting.
I like the story progress in this installment: Hermione is starting to realize how she feels, and so is Severus. Regardless of the unfortunate circumstances, it's a good outlook. Although I don't trust Rabastan any farther than I could throw Hagrid.
Oh, but poor Ron. This is going to be rough on him, because he does love Hermione, and it's never easy to lose at love. (As Severus knows, to his cost.) This time, though, Severus is the winner.
Good chapter!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks. I feel better now (can't imagine how guilty I felt uploading without a beta). I was hoping there wouldn't be anything glaring that would take away from the story. I just hate having to wait so long (making the readers wait). I went through it again today and reworded a couple of things, but I didn't really see anything. My brain is probably in autofix mode. I'll change whatever Nay finds though.Yes, they are both coming to terms with their attractions. There will be more with Rabastan soon. :) And I feel sorry for Ron, too, but I'll give him peace before long. Cheers!
I hope Sev... gets in way too deep.....wink....emothional and physically!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
~nods in agreement~I'm thinking so. HeheheheThank you!
I can't wait to see how the "morning after" is going to go!!! She knows that she likes what Snape dose for her even if she can't admit it yet (unlike Ron he he he) Snape knows he wants her even if he has told the truth to everyone else but himself before this point. hmmm ... How will that admission be handled in the light of a new day? hmmm....I hate it when I get up to date with a new found story that I like because now I have to wait like everyone else for each wonderful chapter. I love that yhou hve included seeing Harry "growing up" and that he didn't just come to agree with things.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Well, the next part is up, and I hope you like it. :) The morning after is interesting to say the least. hehe Thank you!
Catching up on my reading and more protcastinating. Very hot ss/hg! :D
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Glad you liked it. :) Thanks!
*thump* (That's me hitting the floor.) There is nothing sexier than a man NOT having sex.
Okay, that did not come out the way I intended it. I just don't know how else to say it. This has got to be the most titillating piece of imagery without going "all the way". Although, I am SO shouting "all the way" and "take it all off" in my naughty little mind. *cough* So ... give over. When's that gonna happen?
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
~nods vigorously~Glad you liked it, and now you see why I enjoyed yours so much as well.Great minds and all that! :)
A lot of goings on in this chapter. I love the way McGonagall manged to persuade Harry that all was a set-up. The Dark Lord in your story trully underestimates love and empathy people can and do share. I just missed the danger Rabastan is in. It might be time to re-read then.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
No need to re-read. I've never really put in exactly what he's to do. LOL A few chapters back, I had him and Severus talk about something the Dark Lord wanted him to do (with Wormtail), but I never really said what. I'm trying to "surprise" readers. LOL Really, though, I probably should have been more specific so it doesn't seem like out of the blue (especially since so much time has passed since that happened in the chapters--my updating time).
Kung-Fu? So I know why this chapter kicks ass! ;)Really good, psychological well crafted and the tension rises. My favourite part was the exchange between Harry and McGonagall. And I'm looking forward to what happens next!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Yes, Kung-Fu rocks! :) Thanks very much for reading and letting me know your thoughts. :)
Catching up on reading....you are a tease.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
I'm such a naughty girl indeed.
Rabastan is starting to grow on me. I kind of like the sexually frustrated guy. He seems to have some depth of character and possible loyalty to his friend Severus. I say possible because all these Death Eaters seem to have hidden agendas or on secret assignments from the Dark Lord to say certain things to certain people. However, Rabastan does seem to me to genuinely like Severus as a friend and the feeling seems to be reciprocated. I am impressed with Draco's character growth. He could certainly teach his parents a few things about courtesy and being grateful. I've decided Narcissa is a cow. Lucius I haven't figured out yet, but I think at the moment he will flow with the tide. Although Ron did not make an appearance, I imagine he is ready for some retaliatory sex with Lavender. Harry, eternally biased against Snape, thankfully had his eyes opened by Minerva. She is a wonderful character. I love her dignity, power, and strength of will, as well as the fact that she proves how powerful a woman/witch can be. Come to think of it, despite how stymied in time the Wizarding World appears to be in many ways, one look at their history with witches like Morgana, Helga, and Rowena, or their present with witches like Minerva and Bellatrix, and their world does not seem so retro after all. As for Severus, he pulls at my heart strings. He has been through so much and when he has his internal conversations of ". . . why he shouldn’t deserve the girl and have her[,]" I almost want to agree with him. He does deserve to be treated with respect and kindness and affection. And everyone has needs, so yes he deserves an opportunity to have those met also. The only problem is that it would be against Hermione's will. Although something was different this last time. She came rather quickly, didn't she?
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Rabastan is going to do something to "prove" himself to us soon enough. You've got him pegged. And you're exactly right about Ron, too. Been reading mah notes? ~grin~ Snape will indeed get all that he deserves--when the time is r ight. We'll see more of her inner thinking in the next chapter. She did orgasm more quickly than the time before (was more into it and ready, I think). :)
Another amazing chapter! :)
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks for reading. :) I appreciate it!
Great chapter, enjoy kung-fu!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
