Although on different sides of the war, Severus and Hermione work together, each for their own reasons. This is my take on the events following HBP and will lead up to the Dark Lord's demise.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm off to stir my cauldron.
Reviews for Flight of the Prince
Go, Minerva! Good for Harry, too, deciding to get her advice. He's not the ninny Some People think he is.
Severus is a good man, but he is a man. He'd have to be dead not to feel just a little thrill from his activities with Hermione. She's getting to him. Thing is, he's starting to 'get' to her, too, if he only realized it. I'm loving it.
Also, Draco seems to have developed a little sense — must be some kind of genetic anomaly, since he's definitely Lucius' and Narcissa's boy. Good chapter, all around.

Thanks for reading. :) It's so true about Severus. I mean, you can only act so much in that situation and not feel something. ~pets Harry affectionately~ I've always had a soft spot for him. teehee. Cheers!
Ha! I'm finally caught up!(This would be the chair dance of triumph I'm doing right now. I've been trying to find enough time to read this thing all in one shot for months now and I've finally done it)And now, I have time to actually leave a review for a change!-drops to her knees and worships SW69- Long time reader, first time reviewer, worshipper of all the things you've written and big fan of yours in general. You never let me down no matter what storyline you're playing with, and this tale is no different. Snape is deliciously in character, the dialogue is to die for (as always!) and best of all, the romance aspect is believable (very important for someone such as I, who dislikes romance in general). So, now that I've done obeisance to one of my favorite fanfic goddesses, I'll leave you to tackle the next bit of this story.
May your muses always be at the ready, may your plot bunnies multiply like tribbles and your toast always fall butter-side up.

Thank you very much for letting me know you're reading. I'm happy that you like my stuff (heh, I usually have some twisty s tuff going on--not everyone's cup of tea).:)You dislike romance in general!!? Wowza. T eehee. Those are my favorite kinds. B ut I do like other stuff to be going on though. Cheers.
I'm glad Minerva is paying attention.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Yep! Lucky someone is. Hehehe. If Harry had seen that alone, he'd have figured that... well, you know. ~grin~
I love the developments in this chapter. Thanks!

I appreciate that. I'll have more up soon.
Another great chapter!!!

Thank you for reading. :) I appreciate it. I should have more up soon.
McGonagall being there was a very lucky thing! Harry can be a rational person, but he really needs someone else there to talk sense into him, and Minerva would be just the right person to know Severus well enough to read him - better than Harry at least, and she would be one of the few people that Harry would actually be inclined to listen to and believe.
Well done, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the relationship between Hermione and Severus is going to develop from now on - it almost seems like they have come to a new sort of understanding.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Exactly right about Harry. I think McGonagall was just what he needed, and now, she's going to "cement" the Snape is being good thing by showing Harry some other memories. I'm not sure if I will explore that more or not. Possibly. :)Snape and Hermione do indeed have a new understanding. He just didn't realize that he's truly growing on her just yet. :)
love it! More please!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks! Should be up soon. :)

Depending on my beta, it should be up very soon! :)
Enjoying the story. I'm a little uneasy about Hermione falling for her captor, even if it is Snape (and he being "good") but it's an entertaining story all the same - and I've always felt Ron was too simple for her. I like the Malfoy's rolls too. I always like reading more about them and their situation given that it did seem in canon that Draco was having serious second thoughts. Thanks, and looking forward to the next!!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
It's sad when women fall for their captors in some instances. I've plans for this so that it won't be so "bad" of a thing. Hopefully anyway. Glad you are liking the story. :)
Is it wrong that I found that line ("Don't cry...you fucking liked it") incredibily arousing in this context? Just wondering...
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Not wrong at all! Bwahahahah :)
Nice! You always weave such a wonderful tale And I think I enjoy them more than JK's writing. Really!!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thank you so much! I appreciate that. More to come soon. The next is off to my beta today!
I think you have Hermione perfectly personified, intelligent, ambitious, feisty, with a healthy dose of guilt. Severus I still have not figured out yet, except that he is great at looking out for himself or great at accomplishing some master plan. I am not sure if you are going to follow the basic motivation for Severus's character from cannon or not. I hated DH. I felt a big cheer of "YES!" coming when Hermione slapped Wormtail, not just once but twice. The Malfoys leaving without her was probably a blessing. I don't think that would have ended well at either end--for Severus with the Dark Lord or for Hermione alone with three Malfoys.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thank you very much. About DH, I didn't like some of it, but on the whole, I enjoyed it. I've decided, however, to still follow my own path with what I'd originally planned for the story. Coincidently, some of "backstory" is a little the same. You'll see what I mean, but mostly, no, this is definitely AU land. Please keep reading, and I hope you'll enjoy. The Malfoys leaving without her is a good thing indeed. I have much more planned with them, so we'll get to see what happens to them in the next chapter! :)
Oh he is running hot and cold.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Yeppers! More up soon! :)
Ack poor Hermione, but she is gathering information. Not peeking in the tub, likely story-hehe
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Likely story indeed. Bwahahahaha
Boy, Hermione was screwed by the Malfoy's. I'm not surprised, but I feel sorry for her she made the portkey and was left behind to deal with the mess.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Yep, sux, huh? Things pr obably would have been much worse had she actually gone with them. You'll see what I mean in the next chapter. :) Thank you so much.
I didn't expect the portkey plan! I liked Hermione feeling a little guilty about her escape plan, and a little worried for Severus - it seemed quite in character to me, wanting to get away but not feeling entirely at ease about the possibility of causing harm to someone that might be on her/their side after all.
Looking forward to more!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks so much. Yeah, I don't think she'd just be the type to say "to hell with you, I'm out of here" at all. She did want to leave, but she hated to think he'd be hurt b/c of her. More up soon! :)
Interesting chapters! About his alliance: I'm so clever as before: I have no idea :)I'm very interested in the Malfoy's fate. But I hope very much that Snape and Hermione will not lie in the bed like brother and sister during the whole story ;)
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Like bro and sis?Snerk...Not a chance! Next chapter has some action in it just so happens... Not much, but some. :)I've something great planned for the Malfoys.
Oi! That was a marvelous ride! You write Severus so beautifully, it heals my wounds. Let's have more of him. Draco's path to Hermione was portrayed nicely in the previous chapters. You did a great job building it up, and the puchline with Wormtail's pay-back was a bliss. Thanks a lot for that. Looking forward to the new installment
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks so much. I appreciate that and hoped Draco's wavering was noticable, the poor bloke. LOL ~kicks Wormtail~More up soon!
Well, I'll admit, Southern: I have been lurking through this story. Not Reviewing. Why? Certainly not due to any lack of interest in it. Just a certain level of general ennui.
But now that the shock of DH is fading into the background, fanfic comes into sharper focus and we all can take an interest once more without that terrible sense of double vision... (i.e.: Severus, dead? Nonsense. He's right there - in Southern's story! Ignore that body in the Shrieking Shack, it's an illusion.)
A good story, by the way. More, soon, please. Good job.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks for reading. :)~happily ignores canon's "bad" points~I'll be posting more soon and keep things going.
Poor Hermione. And putting the Malfoys that close to the Weasleys should be interesting.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Yep, I think the dear Malfoys are about to be very surprised! Teehee
More please!!!!!!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks so much. The next bit is about to be sent to beta now. This would have been up sooner, but her work has been keeping her tied up. :)
Another fabulous chapter! I didn't realize I was holding my breath during the whole "whose taking the portkey" scene, but I certainly was! I can't wait to see what happened to the Malfoys - not to mention the impact that Hermione's actions will have on her "relationship" with Severus. More, please!
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thank you very much! I'd hoped it would make the reader a little anxious as to what would happen. I do indeed foresee that this will have an impact on things, though she won't know exactly what's gone on at first. More up soon. I plan on updating as often as I can now that things are better in RL. :)
I'm glad things are calming down for you. I can't wait for more updates. I'm having a hard time deciding which ruse is the real one.
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Thanks so much. I sent the chapter to my beta three days ago, so I'll post as soon as she sends to me! :)
"So long ago when you told me of the Prophecy, I promised to deliver the Evans Mudblood to you once I killed her husband and the boy. Even though I had no choice but to kill her, you’ve not held that against me and still do my bidding.” wow... how's that for sending shivers down your spine? Love this story, and now with DH out, I hope you can still put a good spin on it, using the information from the seventh book.

I wrote that part before the book came out. I'd always had a feeling that's why Voldemort was trying to give her a chance to live. I'm gonna keep this AU, though, and not follow DH stuff. I do want a "happy" ending. Teehee :)
Response from Marti (Reviewer)
Nah, I meant using the now canon information from the book as background for the story... I want a living Severus and hope to see him and Hermione together happily in this fic (hint, hint)
Response from Southern_Witch_69 (Author of Flight of the Prince)
Same thing I want, too. Teehee. :) I doubt I'll put anything about the Hallows in, but I will have some things swiped from canon perhaps. :))
