Apart from it being an artefact of considerable antiquity, no one at the Department Of Mysteries could determine what it was. It was taken from the body of a slain Death Eater at the first fall of Voldemort and was, undeniably, of magical origin. Unable to extract its secrets, and unwilling to risk further experiments, the Unspeakables consigned it to the vaults. Or so they thought. Only one wizard may provide the answer, but he has no idea of his connection to it.

LOL they do that! No worries, I'll ask the Headmistress to remove the duplicate :o)
I was quite worried about the comfrontation between Crookshanks and Petal, Hagrid would have been heartbroken if anything had happened to Petal. Crookshanks is a force to be reckond with, he has his own way of making his displeasure known, as Severus has found out. It is so good to see Eileen's magic is back, and Toby is happy about it, it was so funny to see that, Severus had the same reaction to seeing his parents kiss as most children, YUK . No wonder Severus is so powerful, having both his parents descending fron Merlin, through different branches of the family tree. Tocky is very happy now he knows he really belongs with Toby and Eileen. I am feeling a little sad now the end is in sight, I have enjoyed reading this story very much, I will miss the excitment of seeing a new update but then again, I will be able to start reading it again from the start, and finding things that I missed the first time round.

Ah, Crooks knew what he was about - and how to make the Universe operate on HIS terms ;o) I'm glad you've enjoyed reading the story :o)
Elfcestors! That's a brilliant word. Of course they would have elfcestors. This chapter has so much going on. Petrus will make a perfect a librarian- I hope Irma Pince doesn't have too many objections. Even if she does, Petrus is such a charmer she'll soon get over it.The Forbidden Forest must be filling of Death Eaters on their deadly mission for Arawn. Hopefully the Centaurs will be able to slow them down if not outright stop them. It was very interesting how Severus awoke from his dream at the same time that Toby was mulling over the remnant of the untold story he had found in the hearth so many years ago. And the Llygad y Ddraig responded to the name of Myrddin. The blue light can mean many things, and I can't wait to find out what happens next!!Well done.Beth

Thanks, Beth! Yes, 'elfcestors' kept wandering around in my mind and putting it into keystrokes just had to happen. House elves can be quite persuasive when they want to be. I wonder what the collective noun for house elves would be... an attendance? More centaurs in the next chapter ;o) Thanks again for reviewing!

Beautiful! Severus Snape, the poor Halfblood, is the one Slytherin with the greatest claim to a royal legacy - and like the Boy Who Lived, Severus is one with the powerful magic of Love. I still want to know more about Petrus' history, and hope Tocky will have elflings of his own to continue his elfcestor's teachings. This is such a great story. Thank you!!!

Thank you June :o) The magic was always there, deep inside that little space in his heart that the Dark couldn't reach, waiting for him to begin to know himself. Actually, the French Unspeakables who examined Petrus after the 'disturbance' at Notre Dame were right about an ancient civilisation. Hermione was on the right track regarding Petrus' history with the keywords she mentioned for her literature search into the subject matter. Thank you for reading and reviewing, and I'm sure Tocky will, at some point, produce the goods ;o)
I'm begining to worry about little Tocky, how will he fair when Toby goes back to Australia? a heartbrocken House-Elf is a sad thing.Petrus' Quiddich match, and Madam Hooch's pain and loss, brought tears to my eyes. Poppy Knows Severus very well, so sees the similaritys between father and son moer keenly. What is the spearhead that is causing Sister Clarise so much grief?

A heartbroken house-elf would be terrible! Let's hope there's a solution for him ;o)

Good heavens! I've only just logged on to check my queue status - didn't expect that at all. I'm happy to accept the nomination :o)
Thank you, and you all have an awesome day too!
hehe, Iwas right! Eileen hasn't disappeared entirely, and I'd bet money that severus can replace her magic from the fake llygad. now let's see what happened to Severus and Hermione!
Yep, I'm definitely thinking sister Clairice isn't who she seems.. glad the dragons seem so helpful, and very glad Hermione's dragon is going well.
Aww, glad ti hear that the ironbelly made it and is doing better! hopefully Hermione will get her chance to free her of the goblin bands.
I now have this vision of McGonagle spelling all the church's gargoyles into being, as she did with the armor statutes at Hogwarts. and who was upstairs at spinners end? interesting...
Sister Clarise is a surprise new player on stage, can't waite to se where she leads us.
I just love Poppy's point of view, with Severus " playing nicely " and Crookshanks " kitten innocent eyes " she has an interesting way of looking at things.
Thank goodness Toby is on the mend, it was such a close call, Crookshanks will see that Toby continues to heal.
The Grangers may now begin to see their daughters actions in a new light, it is all very well being told about a war, it is quite another to see first hand the severity of the aftermath.
Petrus should not have too much trouble , finding the mischief makers in the Library, and I'm willing to bet, they won't be doing that again, EVER.
Response from noodle (Author of A Place in the World)
I wouldn't be fooling around in the library, that's for sure ;o)
Severus and Hermione, are certainly a force to be reckoned with, as is Toby.
Fawkes was just beautiful, so powerful and free, no one commands Fawkes, he goes where he pleases, when he pleases. No one knowes why he helps in one case, and not another.
That was a nasty little cliffe, with Toby collasping in Severus' arms.
onto the next chapter.
Response from noodle (Author of A Place in the World)
They are indeed! I wouldn't take them on. Fawkes wrote that bit himself, I think. I just sat back and let him peck the keys... but he's managed to winkle out my escape key and flown off with it, not that it was ever any use...
