Hermione's life takes an unexpected turn due to a medical issue. What she wants is still possible, just not with the man she thought she'd have it with. Meanwhile, Severus is being pushed in different directions. Luckily, one of those paths lead to Hermione. This is a take on LOTM's YLC Challenge.

Nice to see Hermione as the knight in shining armour for a change! :)
Poor Hermione! Hopefully she can take give herself the chance to take a step back and re-evaluate what she wants.
Looking forward to seeing what happens next!
Poor Severus being chased after by Ulbrook, then the horrid dates.
Off to read more...
Awww. What a sweetie. Thanks for making the decision to be apart a tough one for those two!
Aww poor Severus.... and naughty Hermione! Great chapter, SW! can't wait to read the next!!
Great story and hope to read more soon!
nice- looking forward to more.
What an awful situation everyone finds themselves in. Draco doesn't get the girl, Severus can't get any girl, LOL. Well, one worthy of him, anyway. Ron and Hermione ... they are so young and have such a decision to make. There isn't a clear cut right answer for them, and while I think there will be readers who don't like it, I can't blame Hermione for leaving things up to fate. Sometimes it is just easier to put a decision in someone else's hands, and that is what she has done, for better or for worse. I hope things work out for the best.
Awesome! Never liked Ron too much as a character, and here you show me why I don't like him but at the same time I do just because this is a very understanding and open Ron. Not the yell run away variety. And I just want to hug our poor sevvie-kins, totally not fair for him. Can't wait for the next chapter!
I can't wait for her to send her own answers... *excited*
Ahhhh! I didn't realize this was the last-posted chapter. Need more, asap! ;) I need to know what happens! Great job so far; I always enjoy your stories. :)
Wow! Clearly Mandy and Ron are "made for each other." He wants kids and she is about to provide one.I guess I haven't caught on to what Hermione's "medical issue" is yet, but I trust it will become clear. So the Yenta is warning off the potential dates .... mmmm ... that could create an interesting situation. Maybe Hermione could lead her into the Centaur's territory...Can't really see Hermione and Narcissa being buddies though.

I don't see them as becoming friends either. Seem too different, but you never know. :)

I was kind of uncomfortable at this dinner party. Everyone is sharing their look how happy we are news, while Ron is miserable and Hermione is confused. Not that I think life shouldn't go on, just because one couple is on the rocks, but still, I felt a little edgy.
I, too, like the slow build. Carry on as you are :)
I was truly enjoying this story and anxiously waiting for every update. All of the characters, including Hermione, were beautifully intelligent and strong, carefully grappling with emotions and thoughtfully considering every angle. Then Hermione loses her mind, jumps into pity sex, forgets her contraception and decides to leave a potential pregnancy up to fate. I'm devastated. So disappointed.

Yeah, that would be terrible if that came to pass. Sometimes people just don't think clearly.

I was a bit in doubt about leaving a review, based on if I dont have anything good to say, I should not say anything at all. But I will get to the good parts first: your writing is excellent as always and I love the Severus part of the story. I feel sorry or Draco being hurt, but hope that he will be much happier with Astoria than he would ever have been with Pancy.
However, my allergy for the Hermione/Ron pairing ruin some of the story for me at the moment. I don't like the Hermione of the story very much at the moment. For being so stupid to have "for old times sake" sex with Ron, not use a contraception and think of it as letting the fates decide if there are a child or not. My brain tells me that it is part of the plot and emotions can be hard to let go off etc etc, but my heart and want makes me whish for a Hermione who realise that she and Ron wants different things in their life, give the relationship a clean cut and moves on. I have never been fond of the "I don't want you or your dreams, but I don't want you to go to someone else either, you better pine for me while I enjoy the attention" kind of girls/boys. While the gist of the story is that it will be Hermione and Severus in the end, and that makes me kling on, though why Severus should be settled with a Hermione this stupid, I don't know. This Hermione is very comptible with Ron, and I don't mean it as a compliment.
But, you have never dissepointed me in the past, so maybe there is a brain-transplant waiting for Hermione and I can get my happy ending with a Severus and Hermione who deserves eachother and can enjoy my much wanted happily ever after.
Poor Severus. What is Hermione thinking?
Oh poor Severus it is not fair that he has to go through such crap. Hermione what the hell???

Oh poor Ron, both Harry and Neville on their way to being happily married and future Dad's.
I can't wait to find out what happens when Snapes questionaire is opened.
I loved reading this on Potter Place, and I'm glad you decided to post it here. Lovely story, as usual. ^_^
I can't help but cringe a little when I read Hermione's aspirations. I aspired to be what Hermione was, when I was young, but having my first child changed me into Ron's mother, and I honestly can't imagine it being any other way. I can't help but think Hermione's just a little short-sighted and hypocritical. There are plenty of working moms who are established that work out just fine. I had a mom that chose her job over taking care of me, and I practically raised my self, and I never got over that hurt, and that's when I vowed never to choose a career over a child. I felt my children deserved a full time mother. But I know I'm in only a small group and there's girls today that see that it can be a good balance and work out for everyone. Too bad Hermione couldn't use her own mother as an example how a woman can have a career and family too.

Hermione will understand that decision as being not very well thought out soon enough. ;)
