I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.

I swear I could hear Snape's inner monologue those last few paragraphs snarking and groaning and grumbling. :)

I'm so glad you could. I can too when I'm reading stuff sometimes.
Thank you so much for another wonderful update to this great story, you made my day:-))
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Glad you're enjoying it. I need to get the next few chapters read and then have them up here.
What a wonderful ceremony! I love the fact that only the Latin incantations are spoken. Oh, and I love Tansy, too!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Glad you liked the ceremony and Tansy. I adored writing a bossy boots like her.
So glad that Ron is coming around--that ought to help with Ginny and Molly. I loved that Harry is using Ron's strategic abilities to further Hermione's cause.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I'm so glad you think that worked. I wanted to show Ron's weaknesses, but also his strengths. It was a bit hard to make the Weasleys the baddies for a while, I kind of like them and hate them all at the same time. But they are a really wonderful gift for characterisation - you can do so much with them.
So lovely. I was thrilled when I saw the update. I had just thumbed through the story the other day wishing there were more.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Glad you are enjoying it. I have written further. Just not got it betaed to post it on here yet.
I don't really think Ron, Ginny, and Molly are as bad as all that; clearly Arthur loves his wife, and all the kids seem to respect and love their father. But I know it's a popular viewpoint. I did like the way you had Percy finding solace in being useful and supporting his father, and Bill going back to help the goblins. One bit of (I hope) constructive criticism: you are using the word "persecute" when you mean "prosecute." To persecute someone is to pursue them relentlessly and unfairly; to prosecute someone is to legally hold a person responsible for illegal actions, usually on behalf of a governments. While prosecutions can turn into persecution, what the goblins want is legal redress for damages to their business.

Thank you so much for your eagle eyed reading. I must sort that out. I really appreciate your close reading. As for the Weasleys - I wanted to show how thw good could go bad, thereby showing how families like the Malfoys could become so dark so thoroughly.
I'd lost track of this story, and now I have a huge number of new chapters to read! (Lucky me!) I love Lucius's appreciation of Harry, Hermione, and Luna's subtlety and cleverness in this chapter, and Draco's realization of his own lazy cluelessness. The one quibble I have with you, is that you seem to want to present the Malfoys as turning over a new leaf and preparing for a new life in a Light society. But then it seems rather ruthless for them to have destroyed the bodies in their dungeons, preventing them from being reclaimed by their families and making it impossible for their families to have that closure. Also, it seems to me they would have done better to let the Aurors clean out Voldy's and Bella's nests--they clearly had no choice but to house them, and clever Aurors might be able to get useful information out of them that would help clean up the Ministry.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
I agree with you on all counts as to the way in which they make choices here. On the one hand they are turning over a new leaf, on the other, well, they are going about buring the bodies because they still don't see the Muggles who were killed for sport as people. So it is a fake agreement to join the Light. And I'm sure in time that the Malfoys will learn the error of their ways.
loved it.. well worth the wait
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much :) More shortly. I just need to get the next few chapters betaed.
Fatastic story! I know it's been a year, but I hope conclusion is on the way?
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
My beta is going through chapter 38 at the moment, so that should be posted fairly soon. The conclusion isn't quiet yet, but its not too far off. Thank you for staying with the story and your kind review :)

So, how does she do that??? Eagerly waiting for more.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Paitence, my dear. I'm still in the process of thinking what's next :)
Ah, Draco's been watching The Tudors! ;)(I love that show!)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
The Tudors? Draco maybe, but I've never. Is it good?
Response from cmwinters (Reviewer)
Ah, well, I enjoy it quite a bit. It's available on Netflix.Draco's letter to Astoria sounded quite a bit like the letters to and from Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII from the show. :) But I think it gave a GREAT deal of authenticity to the letter, so that's not an insult at all. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. It just was the way he sounded in my head. I guess I do see him a having most of his mannerisms derived from an older, more courtly world, even as he struggles to fit in with this one.
I just wanted to say that your writing in this story is very seductive. Your Snape is increibly sexy.... I am very excited when I see an update. I look forward to reading it again when it is finished. Keep up the good work!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you so much. I do that too. I read stories as they are updated and then, one day I sit and read through it again from start to finish. I'm so pleased you're thinking of doing that to this one, some day.
Poor Severus, his soul is so heartwrenchingly sad. Hermione has a lot of growing up to do despite her intelligence. I hope she can get through to him that she will eventually rise to his emotional level with time and that she meant him no harm. He needs a lot of intellectual love and support from her as well as physically....
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, indeed. She does need to grow up and I think listening to the castle is a good step forward in that respect. It's got centuries of understanding to pass on.Severus is going to be a difficult case, but I don't like sad endings, so we have hope for the future.
There was a lot on that chapter. Hermione needs to grow up a little and start listening to other peple instead of concentrating on her own wants and needs. Luna is just the person to help. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, indeed. I do think that having life show Hermione that intellect can fail is a good thing and an important step in her growing up. She has always thought and spoken, instead of listened.
I'm so happy that Hermione is finally adopted by the Malfoy's. I just hope she can make things right with Severus. Although, I can't help but think that Hermione was completely in the wrong, since she should've listened to Severus better. She was blinded by her lust for him, and didn't pay attention to the rationality behind his words. I hope it won't take so long to update again. I'm just really anxious to see what happens next.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Yes, I agree, Hermione was entirely in the wrong and it is going to take her a long time to get Severus to accept her apology. That she is not giving up is the only positive in the situation. The Malfoy adoption is going to prove useful in more ways than one, I think, especially if she wants to get through to a very hurt Severus.
Wow what a great chapter! I especially love Hermione telling off Ginny lol. I'm glad she got Luna to help her speak with the castle. I just hope she will be able to repair any damange that was cause between her and Severus. I hope he talks to her about the curse, I think she needs to know but Severus being stubborn I doubt he will. Looking forward to another chapter :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. Yes, I think it will take a long while for Severus to actually speak of the curse, if at all really. He is too used to keeping things to himself.I enjoyed the Ginny/Hermione confrontation. The next chapter must unfortunately wait a while. Am working very hard to meet my thesis chapter deadline at the moment.
Response from Marty21 (Reviewer)
Thats okay I can wait. :) Good luck with the Thesis chapter.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. The writing has been going surprisingly well today. I hope the momentum continues through the week. I'd love for the first draft to be complete soon.
you can't leave it there!
he made mistakes as well, assuming she understood all the ramifications of the Malfoy offer...silly man.
please update soon
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Indeed. I think though that Severus' folly in assuming that Hermione understood as much as he did is compounded by the curse and its insistense of not letting her apologise. I must confess that an update will have to wait a short while longer. I'm forced by looming deadlines to put all of my energy into working on my thesis chapter. But once it's done and being read over by my supervisors, I shall focus without fail on the story. Promise.
Another great installment. Glad to see the update.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I must apologise for the length of time it has taken me to post but in my defence, I've actually been working on my PhD thesis chapter and it must, due to its nature, take first priority.
Wow that was good!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I'm glad you think so. Thank you too for the lovely stars.
You're BACK!!!!! Thank you so very much, this story is awesome...
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the chapter. I've not gone away, I've just been forced to actually focus on real work for the moment.
Will you be updating this story any time soon? This is EPIC!
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you for your support and reviews. I'm working on the next chapter - but it is taking time. I'm not really sure when it will be ready for posing. I promise the story is not abandoned.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
I just checked - I've got a bit more posted on fanfiction.net. But it hasn't been betaed - so can't post it on this site at the moment. My beta who is a darling is really busy and has been for the last year - finishing college etc.

Thank you for such a wonderful story so far. I really enjoy the development of character.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. It has been fun to work on, although I must admit that I've not really had time to write more. I must try to get all the marking done this week.
Now she's a Malfoy she can get away with almost anything, can't she? ;)
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
I suppose she can, though I doubt Hermione abusing the system. She's got too much of an ingrained sense of responsibility for that. Ginny is going to through a wobbly when she finds out eventually though.
He'd be a fool to keep his distance now. Hopefully Hermione will be able to convince him to have a long engagement.
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Yes, I hope so too. But then it's not just him, I think part of the reason for him hesitating is unwittingly the Dark Veela curse. It is stopping them from expressing their love for each other.
You are quite a tease!!! I just can't wait for the next chapter. I so love your story.By the way, in the German name of the school in Lucerne you chose is a little grammatical mistake: it should read "Die komplette Hexe"
Response from kittyperry (Author of Dark Veela)
Thank you. My German is less than basic. I shall make the required change. Thank you so much for pointing it out.
