I am a grateful fan of Ms. Rowling and of her overwhelming Byronic Character, Severus Snape! Please check out the first chapters of each fic (except for "How Can I Tell You," which is on Chapter 2) to see pictures of the Heroines.
Admins' Note: Livvy6 died suddenly on February 22, 2012, leaving behind her husband, six-year-old daughter, and seventeen stories well-loved by the TPP community. All who knew her—including those in Harry Potter fandom and all of us, here—are richer for having known her.
Requiescat in pace, Livvy. Always.
Reviews for The Unforgiven
I'm a little confused about one thing (and maybe you clarified this in an earlier chapter, and I've just forgotten), but---does Harry even KNOW that Severus needs his memories back? I did catch that he knows Severus is alive, and that he wants to give him the memories, but does he know that Ginny is putting up obstacles to that? It would seem to me, if Harry really wants to see Severus personally THAT badly, and wants to unburden himself of his own guilt THAT badly, then he would be all the MORE motivated to get his arse out there where Severus IS, rather than collapse and have to go into a mental hospital again. Wouldn't the drive to SEE Professor Snape galvanize him, against ALL opposition--unless, Ginny is holding out on him in some way and thus preventing the meeting (except on her terms, which she apparently thinks Hermione will not match?) So if you could straighten me out there, I'd be grateful, for I'm puzzled. (The only explanation I can see is, if Ginny has had Harry declared mentally incompetent, and thus can hold "life-or-death" power over him and his movements right now---but she wouldn't, would she? She's being enough of a harpy as it is, without adding that to the sum.)As to this chapter--I love the gentle progress he is making. How do porcupines make love, indeed! And I hope his growing determination to have his mind whole again will give him the strength he needs to go with Hermione to the Weasley's, and meet Harry despite Ginny's recalcitrance and opposition.Thank you for a lovely chapter, and it's wonderful to know the next one is on the way already!Love,Countrymouse

Ginny is very overwhelmed and cannot handle Harry being in and out of St. Mungo's. He may have admitted himself and not Ginny. Harry does know that Snape is alive and wants his memories becuase Ginny shared the letter with him. But he wants to go and she doesn't want to deal with another episode of Harry going back into his depression. How would Ginny know how Snape would treat Harry. Would Harry be stable mentally enough to handle being verbally thrashed by Snape? So Ginny is angry, frustrated and scared. And she's taking it out on Hermione. The next chapter should be a relief for everyonee, though! Thanks :)
Ginny has a very bad attitude in this story and i don't think i like it, she's harsh and not at all understanding of Hermione's need to be in a different place for a while. I loved this chapter though, I can't wait for the next one!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Ginny is afraid and frustrrated. She's lashing out right now. I hope you like the next chapter! It's a big one! Thanks :)
unforgiven is an apt name given ginny's attitude toward hermione. why is she expected to stay and take care of everyone? apparently it's not ok for hermione to take care of herself! ginny's a selfish cow. wonderful update. thanks so much
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
There is a lot of unforgiving going around, isn't there? Ginny is afraid and she taking her anger and fear out on Hermione. It's sad really. I hope you like the next chapter! Thanks :)
Thank you so much for the update! I just love this story, not only a great plot, you also write it so well, one can feel the emotions of the characters. Very well done!!!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
I'm so glad you are enjoying this! I appreciate your compliments. Thanks :)
I am always looking for the next update. I really like this story.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Thanks! I hope you enjoy the next chapter. It's going to be a big one!
a very nice story ^.^ i definitely recommend Deep Forest, Vangelis, and possibly Secret Garden to be listened to while reading this story. (sorry, i kind of have a habit of thinking up story soundtracks lol)can't wait for more!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
I'll have to check those out. I'm glad you are liking the fic! Thanks :)

For some reason, while reading this story, i didn't have an English garden in my head...more, perhaps of a late-afternoon-sun drenched english garden...in India..o.o I got alot of golds and greens and reds in my head while i read this...and also emerald and black (go figure right) lolbut yeah, those three artists really seemed to stick out to me in your story and I think you'd enjoy them ^.^ cheers
I hope the memories do the trick.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
It will help, but like all other things in life, our attitude is a key player in success and/or failure. Thanks :)
excellent building chapter - really don't know where you are going next - resolution and absolution seem so close for SS - yet many obstacles - thanks for posting!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Yes, the next chapter will be filled with a lot of drama no one was expecting! Hope you enjoy it.Thanks :)
Step by little step he is coming back into his own.I really wonder what is going on with Ginny and Harry. I can't reconcile the tone of the letter with the Ginny know. She must have her own demons to fight after the war, but still ...
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
We don't see the day to day struggles she has, but she's just worn out, emotionally, and is afraid of Harry being being set back again if he sees Snape. It can't be easy for her. She's loved him almost her whole life, and seeing him being committed to St. Mungo's for depression again and again, plus Ron's drinking, she's a mess, and is taking it all out on Hermione. Acting out of fear is never good. Thanks ;)
I like this -- its very interesting! And Eugene is a great character! He really brings the story together nicely. Looking forward to the next chapter...A~
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
The next chapter will be very interesting - much more action and drama! Eugene is a sweetie, isn't he?Thanks :)
I think Ginny is being quite short-sighted here. Did it not occur to her that Harry could possibly recover more completely if he could see Severus, or at least give those memories back? She's being cruel to Hermione and accusing her of thinking only of herself when that is exactly what she is doing. A bit of pot/kettle syndrome, I think. It's nice to see Severus getting better, even without the memory dump. Hopefully, things will move along for him and Harry will just ignore his harpy wife and go see Hermione and Severus.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Yes, Ginny is way over-protective. She is scared and acting out of fear makes people do irrational things.Yes, Harry will have to gather himself and just do it. It can't be easy, being in and out of St. Mungo's for depression.Yes, Snape is getting better regardless of his lack of memory. A cozy home where there is laughter and acceptance can be some of the best medicine for a struggling mind. Thanks :)
He is starting to let go. :)
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
It's going to take a lot of care and patience for him to recover. But he still needs those memories back, regardless. Thanks :)
Very good so far hope you update soon.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Chapter seven is in the queue. We see what Snape has been up too all this time. Thanks :)
Poor Eugene! Please update soon!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Eugene has Hermione on his side now. He's going to be fine. Now if only Hermione and Snape can withstand his ideas for a new family...:)Thanks!
I really liked the incorporation of the religion into this chapter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Thank you. It will return again later. :)
I love Eugene. I can't wait to see what happens!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
LOL! I hope you like what I have planned. Thanks :)
Even though I don't agree with the fact that Ron would act like that, I enjoyed this chapter immensly.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
I'm glad you liked it. We all see characters our own way and even though you didn't like my view, I'm happy you kept reading. Thanks :)
Wow, so much in this chapter. Nicely done.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Thank you! I hope you keep liking the direction I take this.
Wow, this was great! On to chapter 2.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Thank you :)
Steven and Tommy were so sweet. I hope Eugene gets his wish, too. Wonderful chapter, can't wait to see what happened after he opened the door.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Next chapter will be extemely interesting. We'll see exactly what old Snape's been up to.Thanks :)
Just discovered your story tonight, and I love it. Very few stories in the fanfic world deal with an honest and positive exploration of faith relative to the wizarding world (I can only think of two authors, Miamadwyn and Mother of Tears, who have done that, that I know of). I'm intrigued to see how you will pull all the different plot lines together, and whether and to whom healing will come in the end.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying this so far. It will be quite the road, but nothing worthwhile is easy. Thanks:)
Loved the new chapter! I thought Hermione was going to hex Eugene's aunt.Looking forward to the next chapter.
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
It was definitely a toss-up if she was going to hex her or not! Thanks :)
eee! I can't wait for the next chapter to see Severus' reaction to Hermione! poor Eugene! He has such a crappy life!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Things will change for Eugene if Hermione and Severus has anything to say anything about it. Likewise, things will change for Hermione and Snape if Eugene has anything to say about it!Thanks :)
she explained that beautifully to those boys! wonderful update. thanks so much
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
Oh boy, somehow I don't think this will be a joyous reunion. Hermione should call child protective services as well.Nice chapter, evil cliff hanger ending!
Response from livvy6 (Author of The Unforgiven)
The next chapter will be a humdinger. Hope you like it.Thanks :)
