The war and subsequent clean-up has ended, and the wizarding world is beginning to come out of its shell. Having had enough of Hermione and Severus's bookworm, introverted ways, Molly and Minerva give well-intentioned Christmas gifts aiming to push our heroes out of their comfort zones and into the arms of a well-read, like-minded witch or wizard. Will our heroes ally to survive with their wits intact? Will they overcome their personal demons? Will they find love within the pages of the detested novel?

Reviews for The Witches of Gilford
Honestly with the way Dumbledork manipulated everyone, his timing was certainly quite disastrous.Lovely ending though, and blast Severus for his high sense of responsibility! But things do look promising for these two. Perhaps this is what Minerva and Molly had in mind? Even if the pairing was unintentional on their parts?
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
It was disastrous timing indeed. I suspect it's not so much a sense of responsibilty as pure fear at having such a close connection. Thanks for the review!

I think that was a realistic look at how a date with them would be....
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thanks. I tried several different approaches with writing their date, but none of the other approaches seemed natural. Thanks for reviewing.

Honestly? I miss the book club. I have been looking forward to their banter with the witches that I completely forgot about the blasted date. Grrr. It was necessary for all the plot lines though and nicely written, so I "suffered" gladly.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
I'm quite amused that you 'suffered' through their date. I'm flattered that people enjoy the book club enough to value it above a bit of snogging. :)

From my point of view, the book club is original, whereas snogging is everywhere. *glad to be a source of amusement*

After hearing Albus' confessions of gross manipulation of him, I can understand Severus' dour mood during the evening. I am also relieved to see that the evening ended with some kissing and groping and both of them looking forward to their next meeting... before the meeting... and maybe, if we're lucky, there will be a meeting after the meeting. Yeah! That's what I'm talkin' about!Wonderful chapter! I thoroughly loved it! Beth

I loved how Hermione and Severus finally started communicating. Severus will have a difficult time of it I am sure but it is a good start.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
He will indeed, but I'm sure with enough positive reinforcement (eh hem), he'll come around.

I can't wait to see what these two will cook up between them. Nice chapter, good flow and I enjoyed Ginny's rather evil sense of humor.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
I'm so glad you enjoyed Ginny's sense of humor. I was a little worried that she and I both would be roasted alive for interrupting their moment. Ginny's been incredibly fun to write.

I love this. Too bad, Ginny disturbed what could have been an interesting morning. *g*
Still, Severus's and Hermione's relationship seems to be progressing nicely. Very much looking forward to more!

Thanks! I'm sure they'll find some delayed gratification somewhere down the road. :)Next chapter's in the queue...

I really enjoyed this chapter. I always imagine Severus to have difficulty dealing with emotions.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Indeed. The man is Awkward with a capital 'A', especially I suspect when he's had time to mull over something emotional. Thanks for reviewing!

I'm pleased you explained what debagged meant. A rebellion in the making... excellent!

Oh, I'm quite looking forward to what they have in mind for the book club presentation, whenever that time comes! And I'm very glad Ginny's little stunt, understandable as it was, didn't manage to mess up the nascent relationship too badly. It was starting to go a bit too smoothly anyway. ;-)
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
It wouldn't be quite as believable if it wasn't incredibly awkward, would it? :)Thanks for reviewing!

I got the letter saying this had updated, but I saved reading it as a reward for completing some chapters of beta-ing. I love this tale. everything is so wonderful. you find funny things to say about nearly everything. Ginny's revenge was an added treat, Poor hermione, though, not getting to wake up in the Snape's arms. sigh. good girl, Hermione, asking Snape on a date. I am a great believer in asking the males out. I cannot WAIT to see what they set up for the discussion they are to lead.

Goodness, I'm blushing! My story was a reward? I feel honored! The next chapter's in the queue. I hope you enjoy it just as much!

I'm sorry that Mr Granger has a stomach bug, but I am beyond delighted that Severus will be going to the concert with Hermione. Dinner and a Concert! Nice.Ginny got her sweet revenge on Severus. It seemed to really put a dent in his day. I was glad that, after talking with Hermione, she came to understand how much spending time with the Professor means to Hermione. Now I want to know how their date... errr... trip to the concert hall turns out. And lets not forget the presentation to the book club. That will be a real hoot!I love your story, so update please? Thanks!Beth
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Ah, yes. Poor Severus did get a taste of his own bitter medicine. Perhaps he'll think twice before spoiling the fumblings of adolescents..... Nah.The trip to the concert hall is in the queue. Thanks for reviewing!

Nice to see Ginny doesn't hold grudges. Yeah, right. Then again, the glorious potential for embarrassment was a bit too much to pass up. Since she had the good sense to buy pastries as a peace offering, I guess we can forgive her. Not to mention that she provided the lovely purple sweater that Snape found so fascinating. I wonder if he might find the Bolero more stimulating while sitting next to Hermione. Formal dress, eh? Sounds like Ginny might just have another chance to make up for the trouble she caused. Hermione's going to need all the help she can get to pull together a killer outfit for tomorrow night!I cannot wait for the next chapter, whether it be the symphony date-that's-not-a-date or the mutiny at the book club. Fun, fun, fun!

This is a very fun story! Curses on Ginny for waking them and embarrassing them in that way!!! It's so sad that Hermione "had no warm, fuzzy memories of falling asleep on the sofa with Severus, and thanks to Ginny she had no idea what it felt like to wake up in his arms." *smacks her* Glad that they got back on better terms by the end though. And it's so sweet that Severus is willing to sit through a concert of someone he despises just to be with her... although, I can see Hermione being upset that he didn't mention that little fact, especially if he falls asleep. Looking forward to the next!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Perhaps Hermione will still have a chance to have some warm fuzzy memories. Good things come to those who wait. :)

Absolutely great new chapter! I really enjoyed myself reading it.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This is brilliant! Of course Ginny would want to get her revenge on Snape! The symphony date is very hopeful indeed ... and of course, I can't wait until their presentation! Let's see how biting and sarky their commentary will be ...

****NEWSFLASH****
Severus Snape is a cuddler!
I can see it now in the headlines of the Prophet. Gin’s revenge was sweet wasn’t it? I am impressed with her restraint. I would have been hard pressed to not alert the castle of Snape’s walk of shame. I cannot decide what I am looking forward to more 1. the baiting of the book club or 2. their formal night out. Wheeeee
