The war and subsequent clean-up has ended, and the wizarding world is beginning to come out of its shell. Having had enough of Hermione and Severus's bookworm, introverted ways, Molly and Minerva give well-intentioned Christmas gifts aiming to push our heroes out of their comfort zones and into the arms of a well-read, like-minded witch or wizard. Will our heroes ally to survive with their wits intact? Will they overcome their personal demons? Will they find love within the pages of the detested novel?

I'm a freelancing Yank who lives in the Midwest with her husband, three cats, and two dogs.
I'm a dabbler by nature. Jack of all trades, master of none. I write, run, swim, garden, quilt, bake, and so on.

'Shenanigans' made me giggle also when Severus said "I can assure you, Ms Granger's evenings are otherwise occupied." I must say the lemons are fantastic. I'm looking forward to how you wrap this up (not like I want it to end though!).
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
*giant grin*Thanks so much. Glad ya like the lemons.I'm feeling a bit bittersweet about ending the story, too. But I think the ending will be quite satisfactory for all parties. Well, except perhaps old Lonely Hearts Lockhart. :)
I have to admit that I laughed at poor Hermione's near escape from Lockheart, and Severus's sharp comment to the reading group's leader was hilarious!Well done, I'm looking forward to seeing how this gets wrapped up.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. Ugh... could you imagine a date with Lockhart? *shudder*
Response from sinbad (Reviewer)
I could at that. It would probably concern talk all about himself, personally I think he would be happy with a mirror for conversations. LOL
Lockhart! I did not see that one coming. Always thought he was safely insane. He still is insane, just not on the safe side anymore.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Beware! Lockhart on the loose! It was surprising how easy it was to write Lockhart dialog. :)
Aha. Excellent plan! :o)
So much to love in this chapter! Hermione's plotting is wonderful, and it's great they finally gave in to their mutual desire, but what I loved most was the perfect balance between their scorching lovemaking, real emotion, a bit of angst and lighter moments. Looking forward to more!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
*blushes*I'm beyond tickled that you think I managed a perfect balance. :) It's certainly what I was striving for.
Rofl! I love the book club presentation. It's very good to see that Severus and Hermione are not the only ones who are fed up with the stupidity of the book Your UST is superb - It makes sense that Severus would want to take things slowly, though I wonder how long he'll be able to hold out ;-)
"Crotchlumency"? *snigger*
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thanks so much. I do think Severus would be absolutely terrified of real emotional intimacy. There's also the opposite of Crotchlumency that one reader suggested: Lemonilimens!
This was excellent. Loved the growing relationship. The wonderful discussions Severus had with Minerva. Really liked that so much. Sexual tension and discriptions of their feelings for eachother growing so comfortable with eachother. This may have been one of the best worded stories I've ever read. Excellent work!
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thank you so very much for the lovely review!I hope you continue to enjoy it!
Response from gersknightlady (Reviewer)
I will , but assumed it was finished. Are you going to continue?
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
There's three chapters left, assuming I can wrestle my muse into submission. :)
Response from gersknightlady (Reviewer)
Awesome!!!! I will look forward to them.
I love the idea of Snape giggling. It's just a truly wonderful image.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Snape laughing is one of the loveliest images, I think. It seems such an intimate thing for him, too.
::sporfle::Thirty-six chapters and an epilogue? You're so droll! This set-up is believable and very amusing. I'm looking forward to reading more.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Oh, you absolutely win the prize for catching the thirty-six chapters joke! I believe you're the first to chat it.Thanks! I hope you continue to enjoy it!
Response from Bambu (Reviewer)
I'm the first? I'm quite surprised actually, but delighted.I am indeed enjoying your story. I haven't finished it yet, because there's been all sorts of family stuff (like dinner), but I'll get there!
Oh, wonderful! This has been a joy to read, and though I'm rather more hesitant than I'd been before about the idea of joining a book club (never done it before, but now it seems like an even worse idea...), I'm still glad I read this.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thanks so very much for the review! I'm glad you enjoyed the story! Surely not all book clubs are so onerous... but it does bear investigating. :)
I actually caught wind of your story via lovedraughts LJcomm, and signed up on PP today so I could read it -- and holy hells, woman, I thought my husband was going to have to pick me up from the floor when I was laughing so hard at certain points this evening!
I *loved* your sense of humour throughout this, and the little moments of tenderness and compassion and thoughtfulness b/w Sev & 'Mione from beginning to end. : )
Thank you *so much* for all the little side-remarks and inner thoughts and outer shenanigans (the birthday party at the W's had me howling into my elbow at my late shift at the office for work, shhhh!), and I can't wait to take a look through your other stories! :D
Thank you for sharing, and have a wonderful week--this story made my day, and I'm favourite-ing it ASAP. (I hope you don't mind!)

Hmm, there wasn't much by way of plot development in this chapter, was there?*holds hands up protectively*Joking! Yet again, wonderfully done. This reads almost light and fluffy, yet you add concealed depths.I'm so glad they both managed to work things out to their ahem satisfaction Penultimate meeting? Does this mean the story is almost done? *pouts*
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Nope. No plot here. :DLight and fluffy with concealed depths, eh? *blushes* I'm tickled and honored that you thought it so.Alas, there's only three chapters to go. They'll get posted once my muse starts behaving again. Thanks for the lovely review.
Response from DawnEB (Reviewer)
Three? Much better than the one I was expecting :)
I am so glad that (a) they didn't rush into bed at the first sign of mutual attraction, (b) he used a bit of Veritaserum to open up to her (I'd like to have seen one of those conversations--I bet they were interesting!), (c) she finally decided to press her advantage, (d) you didn't gloss over her feelings of loss and their dealing with it, and (e) THEY FINALLY GOT TO IT, and rather satisfyingly, at that! Stellar, in fact, does describe it.Nicely done! (Don't let him cast one of those Distracting Charms my way--I like to watch!)
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
*grins*This review has made me glow every time I've read it. I'm so very pleased that you liked a, b, c, d, and e. Did you see! I cast Protgeo so you wouldn't get hit by the Distraction Charm! ;)Thanks for the lovely review.
Your clever story makes me so happy! Maybe not as happy as Hermione, but close.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
*grins*I'm honored that I could make you happy. Thanks, as always, for reviewing.
Excellent chapter. I loved how Severus didn't quite see eye to eye and managed to fix the problem before a major blow up.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thanks so much. Slowly, Severus is learning. I'm sure Herimone will continue to condition him. :)
Wow, I thought that was really going to blow up for awhile there. Great chapter. Will gags be invovled? Or will Severus spill like a Hufflepuff????
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
They only just managed to avert disaster, didn't they? Such a temper, that Severus Snape. Thanks so much for reviewing.
Woooo!!! About time eh?? Amazing things these book clubs haha. x
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
About time, indeed. Thanks so very much for reviewing.
Ooooh. Nice. The big pay off was definitely worth the wait. The sex scenes were lovely. **Sighs happily**
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
*bows*Why, thank you. I'm tickled beyond measure that the sex scenes were up to snuff.
really great job - please keep up your hard work - thanks for sharing
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thanks so much! The next chapter is in the queue and should post soon!
This is one of my favorite chapters. I like that they are taking some time to let their relationship develop. But I have to say that when they were snogging in the alley across from the pub, I was kinda hoping that they might decide to go up to Hermione's flat. *sigh*
Severus is beginning to deal with all the "stuff" from the war, and I think it will be good for them to talk about it... sharing that sort of emotion will help to cement the foundation for a stronger relationship.
I am so happy you have shared this story with your readers. It is a divine way to spend some time with my favorite OTP. Thank you.Beth
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Patience, my dear. I suspect Hermione won't be able to hold out too long.I'm quite happy to share my story. It's been a ton of fun to write and share!
Are you not updating on Ashwinder? I really like this story. Are they going to be attacked by Martha or Matilda? Perhaps using polyjuice?
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
I'm updating once a week on Ashwinder and Granger Echanted.Glad you like the story!
Excellent, entertaining fic! Even the chapter titles were witty and fun, although there were quite a few tears as well, in the early chapters at least.I think you might just be a favorite author for me. Good job on this story, it's a favorite too.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
Thank you so very, very much. I made a tour of some other ships last year, but I'll be posting my ss/hg exchange fic after the reveal, and I've got another in the works. Thanks so much for leaving such wonderful reviews to every chapter! ~adds you to favorite reviewer list~
Oh, lord; caught in the act by a toddler. That has to be one of the most embarrassing interludes ever...and hilarious as well.Little Victoire is going to be an unholy terror, all right.Another fine chapter. Good job.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
I'm rather cruel to poor Severus. Poor guy.
Believe it or not, I had an inkling it was Lockhart. Still, it was a surprise that he'd been sprung from the Janus Thickey Ward. Hermione must have been royally grouched that her own research helped cure him.Another good chapter.
Response from pyjamapants (Author of The Witches of Gilford)
*grins* Actually, it makes me pretty pleased when people say they suspect Gilderoy. It didn't want to drop so many clues that it wasn't a surprise. But I was afraid it would come out of no where. Thanks again for the excellent reviews.
