The war and subsequent clean-up has ended, and the wizarding world is beginning to come out of its shell. Having had enough of Hermione and Severus's bookworm, introverted ways, Molly and Minerva give well-intentioned Christmas gifts aiming to push our heroes out of their comfort zones and into the arms of a well-read, like-minded witch or wizard. Will our heroes ally to survive with their wits intact? Will they overcome their personal demons? Will they find love within the pages of the detested novel?

Pajama Pants does a wonderful job of playing with my heart as these two characters I have come to want desparately to be together are pulled apart and then pushed together even more intensely. I found myself muttering at the computer at both of them on the date! I was also surprised to find myself most displeased with Albus Dumbledore...a character of whom I am usually a devoted fan. Being able to hear the music added to the experience.

ha, that was a great chapter. so they both went through the night misreading each other's attitudes. I loved the chapter. I can't wait to read the next one. sad that it's not going to be up until late this month. :( anyways, i'm looking forward to it and will be looking for it and trying to be patient! if it's not before christmas merry christmas!

Great chapter! I've always loved Bolero for the exact reasons that Hermione was thinking (you put it into words better than I could). I enjoyed watching the video--it's exciting to see all of the instruments at work. And I actually just saw the HCMC Symphony Orchestra play the overture to Prokofiev's R and J two weeks ago so I was really excited when you mentioned it.And I'm so glad that they got to have a nice little makeout session. I can't wait to see what they have planned for the book club, although to be honest, I forgot all about it during the date scene.

Oh, and I;m glad to see I wasn't alone in thinking of Hermione and Severus dashing around an ice rink in purple and sequins. I loved Torville and Dean when I was a kid ;-)

Can it be?? Sure, he's not blond, but he's so annoyingly good-looking and Practically Perfect in Every Way! If Hermione and Severus can survive this with their sanity intact, it'll be a miracle! Looking forward to reading the next chapter...

Have finally found the time to come on over and read your fic! I really liked this chapter. You've discussed a couple of things about magic that I've pondered in the past very interestingly... and that was a cleverly horrific way to off poor Ron!

I'm absolutely tickled that you've read and liked this. Glad you appreciated how I offed Ron. It was either "gruesome, horrific death" or "lying, cheating, SOB". I just didn't have the energy to ever write a scene with him in it, so the gruesome death won out. Although after writing chapter 5 of this, I find I don't loathe him quite so much.

Ohh, now this was an awkward date! Glad it came to a satisfactory ending, at least (hmm, should Ginny's failure to make the charm a little bit longer lasting get the credit for that?), but I didn't envy either Hermione or Severus for most of it!

I believe Ginny has redeemed herself for the last chapter. First she fends off Lavender, and then she indirectly sends Hermione into Severus's arms. :)

I know everyone is waiting for the *book club presentation* chapter but I loved this one. And thank you for the "happy thanksgiving" greeting. I think I speak for all American's on this holiday we eat to much damn food, but it's so good!

You know for a spy whose life depended on reading body language Snape does a shockingly poor job and reading Hermione. Good thing he didnt have to date as a spy. Might I remind you that my birthday is 12/31? Perhaps chapter 8 could be my present????

Great chapter! I think it's great how you captured the emotions of grieving Hermione and how much Severus was touched by it, and managed to overlook his own feelings by it - and so find out completely new ways to react...
It's so good that he finally talked about his experiences, too. My favourite part is the dinner, though, with the both of them eating in companionable silence, not needing to speak , just enjoy each others company, and Hermione falling asleep in his arms. If anything is a sign of feeling well with someone other, than this is it, I think.

And she has them sleeping together by chapter 5 although not quite in the way I had hoped. It does my romantic heart good to see how relaxed they have grown with eachother. I have a feeling this relationship is going to last. "She was accustomed to friends playing different roles and satisfying different aspects of her personality" So very true!
