Hermione Granger had a job that gave her everything she wanted. However, money can't buy the one thing she desires most, the love of the reclusive Severus Snape.

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Thank you so much. Sorry for the cliffie. I think there should always be one good cliffie chapter in every story. I personally hate getting to them when I'm reading a story, but I love them as an author. They're all full of the Mwahahaha factor.

I am glad to see another chapter before the voting deadline. I love the idea that the villa they are searching for is a museum, with magic books in the library. AND a ghost! how cool! looking forward to more soon!

I hope the ghost is the ghost of Holt. That would be amazingly convenient. :) I look forward to the resumption of the story after the voting. That's going to be a hard decision! So many great stories.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Well, there's a tiny clue in there. It would be incredibly convenient if that was Holt, but only if he's a good ghost. It could be very bad otherwise.

LOL they BOTH want to snog each other senseless!

I would have thought it was down to at least 30 years. giggle. I wish Severus was more confident in himself on that front. But decades of being "ugly" would do that to a person.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
That would have been nice if it had been reduced that much. Severus needs some TLC and a big hit over the head before he finds his confidence.

I think the return of Pierre might help Hermione's cause.

Well, since you've taken some of the sting out of the cliffy, I'll just say that I'm glad there is one less evil mad guy out there.

"He didn’t think she had more interest in him other than friendship. He couldn’t fathom her thinking of him as anything more. Women just didn’t think of him in that way. " why could men be sometimes so stupid???How could you? not 50 years - now 40 years- that's impossible!!!great chap!!! thanks! You did a good job!hope you update soon, I'm hungry for reading!bye Severina

Men are stupid because of insecurity. Severus has more than the average bloke when it comes to that sentiment. Now, if we look at all the variables in the Arithmantic puzzle, we have to put into account that Snape is insecure and doesn't trust anyone which equals... 50 years. But his newfound trust in Hermione is huge, which lowers the answer to 40 years. You know this Arithmancy stuff is easily changed. We'll just have to change a lot more Snape variables to see these two together before then. Thanks! Deb

I like the side business, it suits HG well. I cannot see her being content to simply own a book store. The woman who fought Voldypants as a teenager would need more excitement in her life.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I totally agree. Although the bookstore could hold her attention because of her love of books, I think she would feel something was missing. Book hunting is adventuresome and it keeps her mind alive. Thanks for the review!

This chapter was perfect! Stupid Pierre! I loved how Hermione tossed his ass out! And Severus got to see how she wasn't interested in his pretty boy butt! Great stuff. I was all smiles while reading this treat at my desk! Cheers! ~Brena

Hermione really loved tossing Pierre out. Pompous fool. But he didn't learn anything. Those types never do. Severus, however, did learn something. Never cross Hermione! That and good looks aren't at the top of her list.

That was quite sweet. I'm glad he was willing to believe her.

It was a bit amazing that he did. He's not one for trust and... feelings. Lol. But he is a good gauge of sincerity, having been a spy for forever. Shocking as it may have been, he knew she was being truthful.

Good for Hermione, chipping away at Sev's carefully constructed defences. I loved the way she handled Pierre, I'd buy her a drink but I'm not sure how the mechanics of that would work. Another excellent chapter all round. Nice one.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Oh, I know, you just put the drink in your fireplace, throw a bit of floo powder over it and yell, "Hermione's flat!" She'd appreciate it, I'm sure.

my heart hurts for him and all the things he suffered thru. thanks so much for this lovely and loving update. she said to him what we all would like to say.

I was hoping that would come across that way. I think we all just want to give him a big hug and tell him he's not so bad. Thanks

Is Pierre going to fade into the woodwork? He strikes me as the kind of guy who might have a hard time accepting no. Fabulous story. While I can't believe that he hasn't figured out that she likes him (actually I can), it will make it that much nicer when they end up together.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
We will wave goodbye to our French not-so-hottie now. He does have a hard time accepting no for an answer, but he also has a hard time with being rejected. You see, it's never happened before. Unlike Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, he doesn't vow to get the girl, no matter what. He is annoyed that his overtures went unheeded. Although he was shocked beyond words with her abrupt dismissal of him, he certainly stewed about it afterward. He won't give Hermione a second chance. She lost her opportunity for perfection. The poor girl, she'll never really get over him...As for Severus, he now knows she actually is a true friend, something he's not used to having. Because he's so used to being the outcast, it's almost impossible for his mind to go further than that in relation to Hermione's feelings for him. Things like love just don't happen to Severus Snape, according to him. Well, neither did friendship, but he's a bit oblivious to obvious hints like that. Lol.

Nice chapter, I loved how Hermione threw out the French Auror and Severus's reaction to it.

It surely proved something to Severus. In his insecurities, I don't think he felt he could compete with a young, handsome foreigner, but he needn't have worried. How could he not be happy about that?

I just love this chapter. It's a sweet balm to my soul. I was smiling (still am) all through the chapter with happy sighs. They're so good for each other and Severus is finally begining to discover his true feelings towards her . I love that stage in relationships. Go on in this line please (Currently you're my heroe and no I have NOT drink or smoke something illegal)

Wow, I'm very flattered. Thank you so much. *Author dons cape and makes cheesy poses.* I think this part of a relationship is one of the best also. It's so filled with unfulfilled emotions and desires. Mwahahaha. Things will continue to move along at a turtle's pace, because that's about as fast as Severus can go at this point.

It's quite a nice pace she is setting here. If the period she has to wait for him decreases by a decade every few weeks, she'll soon have him where she wants him!

Yes, she will. I'm not sure she'll make such great leaps forward in years time from here, but they will get closer and closer.

Hermione handled Pierre's unexpected arrival with aplomb, and I'm sure that meant more to Severus than just about anything else she could have done. Proof positive that she did want to spend time in Snape's presence, but that she wasn't interested in the young Frenchman.“I’m sorry, Pierre, I’m just not interested, okay? I had a lovely time the other night, but we really aren’t well suited.”Is Pierre really and Auror? There's something fishy about him... I have trouble believing that he is who he presents himself to be.Great story, and very entertaining!Beth

I think you're right. Severus couldn't have been happier with her pushing of the French imbecile.Pierre really is an Auror, just not a very bright one. I daresay that Ron could probably beat him at a logic game. Pierre is also very full of himself, so he feels he can do no wrong, which really isn't a good attitude for an Auror, lest you want to wind up dead. Thanks for your review and compliments.

A great update. I loved that Severus got to know that Hermione believed in him back when no one else did, and that he accepted and appriciated that she did so! I am glad Hermione found it reasonable to shave 10 years of her timline for getting Severus to love her; she should find the rigth moment and just snog him senseless, Severus would probably believe actions more than words:-)
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Given the circumstances back in that time, I can only imagine how Severus must have felt. Every shred of evidence pointed to him being a murderer. He never expected anyone to believe otherwise. His only 'friends' at that point were his enemies. Not a happy existence. What a relief it would be to know that even one person believed in him.As for Hermione, she would snog him senseless, but she thinks his reaction probably wouldn't be very good at this point. She underestimates her power over him, I think. I think, though, that if she ultimately isn't the first one to make a move, it will take 40 years to move forward.
