Hermione Granger had a job that gave her everything she wanted. However, money can't buy the one thing she desires most, the love of the reclusive Severus Snape.

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Snape, Snape, get here--it's time to save the damshel in distress!!** Doesn't such an evil cliffie deserve an overly dramatic response as such from the reader?**
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Of course it does! These are trying times for readers. But fear not, a new chapter will be up shortly and hopefully Snape will save the day. (Yay! Snape will save the day!)

OK, I have been avoiding reading this story for a while. For some reason the title scared me away. Tonight I decided to take a chance and read it. I must say I will NEVER allow a title to put me off again. This is now one of my favorite stories, however an evil cliffie you leave me with. I will look forward to future updates!!

That's quite funny. I'm still smiling about it. Was it the length of the title, or what, that turned you off? When I was trying to figure out what to call this, I had three working titles. All She Ever Wanted, Money Can't Buy Everything, and some other one which I can't remember. ;) Anyway, I passed all of them by my beta and she suggested this combination of the other two. Although it's a bit long, I think it conveys a bit more than either of the titles standing alone. I'm honored that you gave it a shot, despite your reservations. I'm especially tickled that you like it so much.
Response from geomancer (Reviewer)
To tell the truth I cannot exactly pinpoint what it was about the title but I think I expected a different story than the one I got. I guess its better than "Can't Buy Me Love" because then you would also have to mention the Beatles part in the story. John, Paul, George, Ringo and Severus; Perhaps Severus can find out what kind of singing voice he has.

They are! The dam will break soon. Thanks for your fun review. The ghostie is a fun addition, thank you. You'll see what he's all about in the next chapter. I will update as soon as allowed.

Oh, who is that handsome man? Great start - it seems very fitting that she not only owns a bookshop, but that she hunts down rarities!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Thank you! I think Hermione is the type that would need to have something on the side to keep her mind busy. This works well with her 'normal' job and it's doing something she truly loves. The handsome man will be revealed in the next chapter.

I have had to wipe the drool off my keyboard from reading your Snape! LOL Great job! Best of luck. Looking forward to more.

Oooh!!!! Great idea that the villa is a museum, and love that the ghost of apparantly Holt is there. Good thing ghosts can't touch you and hopefully he will be ammenable to their search. Can't wait to see what happens next, after voting of course. :) And to see who you are.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
We can only hope that he'll be a nice ghost. Ghosts may not be able to touch you, but as Peeves proves, they can be downright cantankerous.

I love how Hermimone treated Pierre. He deserved that. Though I do think she should have smacked Severus for mocking her like that, or thrown a pillow at him. LOL Nice to see the two of them warming up to each other and her starting to admit her feelings in a round about way.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Thanks! Yep, she was great with Pierre. But I guess he deserves a little thanks for instigating their conversation. Too bad we missed out on a pillow fight between Severus and her. That's okay. They found out some new things about each other instead.

Don't give up Hermione. He just needs some time to emerge from his cocoon. I love her mental image of them finally kissing as old folks and dropping dead from the excitement. LOL
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
The funny thing is, she knows that's a possibility! She does know, too, that it will take time. Once Hermione sets her mind to something, though, she usually doesn't give up.

yay Severus! You were an utter twit but you learned how to apologize. That was truly nice to see. It seems that deep down he is as lonely as Hermione is.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
He's probably even more lonely. He's shut himself out from the rest of the world. Granted, being surrounded by people can sometimes be the lonliest place to be, but Hermione has stayed close with Harry and Ron so she has friends. That's not a romantic connection in any way, though. I know you were hinting at that. I'm sure that having been rejected by Lily and his subsequent lack of a social life has not done any good for him.

Dang! Hermione, you have to learn to be careful, woman. Good thing she and Severus did not split up. I hope he can get her help in time - though there won't be much of a story if he doesn't.

You're right, there wouldn't be. I should just put 'The End' right at the end of that chapter!

The side-track may not be so much of a side-track because it is the same subject. Clues can be found in the oddest places. I love Severus feeling uncomfortable about not paying her, as though he does not want to be indebted to her or anyone anymore after is period of two masters.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I liked your tie-in with his two masters. He definitely doesn't want to owe anybody, and the fact that he was a puppet for so long really makes him want to pay his dues.

Nice touch with Severus's past and being a direct descendent of Sutton. I love how potion making runs in his family. And I have to say I loved this line 'You’ve been a recluse too long, Severus Snape, if the thought of a scantily clad Hermione Granger can excite you.' ROTFL Classic Snape. Thanks.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I'm glad you enjoyed that. We never really hear of the Prince line. I think it's highly likely that Severus' talent isn't a fluke, but the result of a long line of brilliant Potioneers.

Nicely done. I really love how he tried and tried to ignore her request, but she knew that he loves knowlegde as much as she does and that there was no way he could resist. I'm impressed he made it two weeks. :)

It's hard to believe, I know. A lesser man would have caved after twenty-four hours, I think.

Nice set up for their partnership (if all works as she plans). How easy it would have been for JKR to have that solution to Snape's 'death'. Honestly, he deserved more than he got from her and I'm so glad to see so many fanfic authors agree and completely ignore that part of the story.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I totally agree. Although I hated the way he died, at least she left the door open for us fanfic authors to right her wrongs. Lol. Snape definitely got the shaft. After all he did, to die such an ignominious death just galls me. Just leaving him on the floor of the Shrieking Shack, alone and unthought of was such a cruel end. Dang, I'm tearing up just thinking about it!Yes, that end really did say volumes about how everyone viewed him, but after all he had done, the man deserved much more. Like to LIVE!!!Okay, I got that out. As for their partnership. It has great possibilities, doesn't it?

Poor Hermione. I can see how a beautiful young, wealthy witch would have trouble finding a suitable suitor. Especially one like Hermione.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
It would be hard to know what those guys were really looking for. And as Hermione is very intelligent, she couldn't settle for just any old dullard.

Very nice start. I like the mystery of a 'fictitious book'. I look forward to seeing how her search goes and who she runs into along the way. :)

She's very adept at her job. She'll come up with some good ideas to help her along.

My guesstimate is that the ghost is reacting to Hermione's presence, since she's Muggleborn. And decidedly NOT a descendant of the apprentice!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
She's definitely both of those things. You'll have to see when the update is up.

LOL Thank goodness for French Aurors! His interruption really got things stirred up and instigated a big leap forward! Maybe he could pop in again? Take another ten years off for Hermione?
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
If only that would be a guarantee, we'd have him come in once a day! But he did start something big, so we can't be too mad at his pigheadedness.

It was a really good chapter. I especially liked how Hermione told Sev that she had trusted him all along; it was something that he needed to hear.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
He definitely did, for many reasons. The obvious one is that he needs to trust Hermione and seeing her faith in him helps him to get closer to her. It's also important because the man just needs to see himself in a better light.

That was pretty sweet of Hermione to give Sev a gift, even if was just a peace offering. I do think Sev is warming to the idea of Hermione, but he is still fighting that war within himself of whether or not to trust, and if he does, will she just break his heart. This is a battle that many of us fight; I am glad to see that you wrote about it.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
It truly is, and for Severus, I think it's even worse. His life thus far has been one of isolation, partly because of his spy work, and partly because of the things that happened to him as a youth. (cough, Lily, cough)For someone who was 'such a good friend' to Severus, she turned out to be very unforgiving. I believe she truly shattered his ability to trust anyone. And of course, his parents didn't help either. Rant over.

I love how you included Mozart's Requiem in your story; it is such a beautiful piece of music.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Thanks! I totally agree with you. It's too bad that Mozart died at such a young age. This work is proof of his musical maturity. I can't even imagine how amazing anything else he would have written from here would have been.

No! Damn that voting hiatus! I hope it is the good ghost of Holt! That would be fabulous.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Yes, the voting hiatus does put a chink in our updates. But it's for an awesome cause. Great guess. I don't think it's revealing too much to let you know you're right. The real mystery is how said ghost will react and will he be friendly or scary? He's a bit frightening right now.
