Hermione Granger had a job that gave her everything she wanted. However, money can't buy the one thing she desires most, the love of the reclusive Severus Snape.

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

I'm glad Severus is warming up.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Me too! She'd be miserable if not.
This is so much fun. How sad that nobody ever gave Severus a real gift before. Of course it isn't surprising but still sad. I'm not particularly fond of Dumbledore. He's not completely bad, but he's at least as complicated as Snape and a lot more underhanded by acting so sweet and slightly befuddled with his knitting magazines and lemon sherbets. Severus just never had a chance at all with so little in the way of nurturing adults around him.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I'm no fan of Dumbledore either. I suppose he did what was necessary, but he was quite callous to anyone he needed to help him.
Snape apologizing with a flower! LOL. I love it. There's a sweet, sensitive boy inside there somewhere who hasn't been completely destroyed by Severus' horrible life. It's amazing. Perhaps there is hope for him.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I really think there is hope for him. I always have. If given the chance, he can be more than what we used to know.

OMG! Well that was exciting. I hope Hermione is okay!

She's super-girl! Hopefully that will help.

I love it.

:) Happy to hear that!
A great story!! Thanks for the Spring day read!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
What a fabulous happy ending...and I didn't quite have to stay up until 1 AM to get to it after all (thank goodness it's a Friday, er Saturday now)! Loved Severus' line when he found out about the baby, “Never mention Longbottom’s name in association with my child again.” Too funny! Now I can go to bed with warm fuzzy feelings, thanks to you. A perfect ending for the week!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Glat you weren't up too late. Hope you had nice dreams after all that fluff!
How very sweet and lovely that proposal was... and how like a man to not understand when women cry from sheer happiness! Poor Sev, though--he probably was having a heart attack when she burst into tears like that.I must also say I got a good chuckle at Sev's potion-making pseudonym, Sylvester (Sly) DeVille... "Sly Devil"! He is a sly devil, isn't he? Hee hee...
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
It definitely wasn't a birthday! But I'm sure Severus was having a heart attack.Glad you caught the sly devil reference. You are one of only a few who've mentioned it.
Yay, I'm glad that Severus and Cecil did have a past with each other after all! But I wasn't expecting that Cecil had been his Master when Severus was studying the art of potions--nice touch! In any event, this was a very warm fuzzy and satisfying chapter. Severus reconciles with Cecil, Hermione manages to get her friends on her side (more or less) regarding her dating Sev, and all in all just a happy sigh of contentment. Nice! Now to see what this very important date will be--I'll bet it's not a birthday...
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I have grown very fond of Cecil, and he deserved a prominent place in all of this. Severus deserves a mentor who's not a meddlesome coot only out for his own devices.
Hooray, the butt fire worked! He said something! She said something back! It was perfect... And they had another gondola ride to erase the bad feelings from the first one. I'm glad Severus took the plunge into the emotional deep end and came out with no ill effects. Now I guess Hermione will be taking a plunge when she tells Ron and Harry about her new sweetie. Won't they be surprised! Gotta run to the next chapter to find out--I will finish this story even if it takes me until 1 AM!

Can you believe it? After all that dancing around each other!
Wow, Steve got let off pretty lightly all things considered... I guess he's just lucky that Severus was too busy being worried about Hermione to take the time to do more! And it would have to take major drugs to get Hermione to just come right out and say what was in her heart, wouldn't it? She'll say what she thinks about anything else to anyone else in a heartbeat, but when it comes to personal feelings she's almost as skittish as Severus.Still, this has got to provoke some kind of soul-baring here. If nothing else, having almost lost her again should light a fire under Sev's butt!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
The drug left her very open and vulnerable, that's for sure. It will have a positive effect, hopefully.
Oh man, how embarrassing this is going to be for Hermione after she gets out of this one--to survive seven years of plots by Voldemort and his Death Eaters, only to be duped and drugged by a scuzzy Muggle intent on date rape! Hopefully this will teach her not to underestimate others, even if they seem fairly harmless.Still, Sev's going to blow a gasket when he finds out. Steve may not be long for this world...
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
LOL, loved the way you put that! She's been out of the Muggle world long enough to have her guard down, poor girl.
Oh cool, a ghost in the library! And he said "his" library, so hopefully it's the ghost of Holt himself and he'll want to assist them in making sure that his lost book on Potions makes it back in the limelight where it belongs. Surely he wouldn't want the world to continue thinking his book was only a fairy tale that never existed, right? Of course he wouldn't!Severus really did sound yummy throughout this chapter... *sigh*
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Severus always sounds yummy, but I couldn't help but make him a tad bit yummier for the trip. And yes, that ghost is Holt.
“What’s so funny?” Hermione demanded.“It seems you have a lot of practice throwing men out of your home.”“I’d watch what I’d say, Severus, or you’ll be next!”Bwahahaha!!! That was just lovely... I love Snarky Severus, I really do. And I'm glad they were able to have such a heartfelt discussion with each other afterwards--definitely the catalyst needed for some big steps forward.

So, Pierre was a good thing, even though he was a jerk. Hermione should send him a thank you note.
At this rate he would fall in love with her in—she did the Arithmantic puzzle in her head—fifty years.Hooray! No time at all! Ah, if she only knew what was going through Sev's head at that moment, she'd surely reduce the time to only 35 years... On the other hand, if Severus is around to experience the return of Pierre into Hermione's life, some rather caveman-like protective tendencies may rear their ugly heads and we can further reduce the time frame to maybe 15 years--barely the blink of an eye to a wizard! I suspect they'll both get too frustrated at the slow pace well before 15, however (if nothing else, this story would be several hundred chapters long). Have faith, Hermione!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Ain't that the truth! But, Hermione doesn't have the whole picture, as you've noted. So, we can chop off a few years. And the equation is constantly changing with things that happen with them. So, hopefully even shorter than 15 years.
Hmm, I wonder how long it will take Severus to realize what significance his overreaction has regarding his feelings for Hermione? After all, if she was just a colleague and nothing more, why would he have gone off the deep end at the thought of her death?A major step for both of them, I think--it will be interesting to see how they interact after this!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
It really was a major step. He'll have to analyze that eventually, whether he wants to or not.
Aagh, cliffhanger! Oh wait, the next chapter is already here, I can just go directly to it... whew. All I'll say is, I hope Severus doesn't have cause to regret making his presence known at St. Mungo's. Gotta go!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Isn't it great to read completed fics? No nail biting, only a gasp here and there, and instant resolution.
Ah, he's starting to actively seek her out now--it's official. He is now doomed. He might as well just move in with her and be done with it! Also loved how she chorused "foolish wand waving" right along with him. Hermione is going to make Severus laugh eventually if it kills him (and it just might).I'm not surprised Hermione had a tough time convincing Severus that there was no fee for his own book search--I'm sure he can't stand the thought of being in debt to anybody. On the other hand, I imagine she was thinking along lines of wanting to show him that sometimes people do things for others without wanting something in return. A rather alien concept for a Slytherin, but Sev's smart--I'm sure he can learn it eventually!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
He's doomed... utterly doomed. But he doesn't quite realize it, yet. And yes, he's prideful because of his past. No one does him any favors ever. It's unthinkable that she would.
Hermione's plan is working out better than she could have hoped--his next image of her is in nothing but a robe, and then they spend the next few hours sitting with their heads together reading from the same book! Excellent! Now, to wear a subtle perfume for future diary perusals...
Liked the hook that Sutton was an ancestor of Severus', and hopefully they will find a clue soon to start their search. On to the next chapter!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
She inadvertently made herself quite alluring. Keep it up, Hermione!
Wow, he lasted a whole two weeks--now that's discipline! He may not be keen on spending time with Hermione, but the lure of knowledge trumped all. Also interesting that he knows (or at least knows of) Cecil Nottingham. Hmm. Could be nothing, could be something. Gotta keep reading so I can find out...
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Our Severus is the epitome of discipline, isn't he?
Ah, now she has a legitimate reason to contact Severus, excellent! If all works out, Cecil needs to be invited to the wedding because it will all ultimately be due to him... Speaking of which, I think ol' Cecil is a great OC (what little we've seen of him so far). I hope he has an adventurous past of his own!Must fly to the next chapter, and see what happens!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Thanks! I like Cecil too. He'll show up again, and just might attend the wedding if Hermione's plan works out.
Oh, poor Ron! I'm sure he got along with Pierre just wonderfully and thought he'd be a great bloke for Hermione to go out with... Unfortunately the "date" dynamic is never the same as the "hanging out with the guys" dynamic. Still, I'm glad that Ron's a good guy in this story (and safely involved with someone else, as well).Just started reading this, since I finished "A Change..." just a little while ago and thought I'd look at some of your other stuff to tide me over! Like the idea of Hermione with a "Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider" reputation in the Wizarding world. I think is going to be a fun one!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
This one is a bit of a lighter read! Ron was trying his best, and I'm sure to a guy, Pierre would seem just wonderful. I tend to like Ron as the loveable friend type. Although he certainly wasn't that in Time's Treasure. But, you know, it was the AU of all AU's! LOL. Here, he wants Hermione happy. Hopefully, he'll like who she chooses to make her happy!
Response from indigo_rose (Reviewer)
Oh, how embarrassing--I mixed up the name of your fic with livvy6's "A Change Is Going To Come", another Time-Turner fic that I've been enjoying simultaneously on this site! I'll blame either late hours or perilously nearing forty for that snafu! Maybe a little of both.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I've been reading livvy's tale too, and I've seen a couple of similarities in the two. LOL. I knew what you meant! At age 41, I can barely remember my name, let alone what the names of the stories I'm reading are! *Looks in mirror* Whoa! Who's that?
OMG! What a cute finish! Yay Babies! I can't wait till that's me! Thanks again for this wonderful tale! And I hope they get that book out of Egypt! Talk to you soon. Much Love ~ Karen
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Yup, babies. Well, one baby. I'm sure Severus and Hermione will be able to get the book. Of course, they will probably have a great adventure along the way.
So while going through my emails today I realized that I never finished reading this story. Whoops! I can't beilieve I missed it! Anyways, here I am reading the last two chapters finally and wanting to let you know how much I continue to love your writing. It's makes me so happy and really makes the Hufflepuff in my yell out with joy! I love happy endings! And that proposal, totally makes me think of when Brett proposed to me. I got all weepy too...but that was probably the only similarity! Anyways, I'm off to finally read and review the ending of this wonderful story of yours. Much Love ~ Karen
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Yes, I too am a sucker for happy endings, as you know. Thanks so much! I'm glad you like my stuff. I like to reminisce (sp?) about special things like marriage proposals too. I'm too mushy for my own good.
