I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Friendship always helps the task!

Thanks. I totally agree. And Severus definitely needs a friend. The poor, secluded, recluse.

Slytherin colours on our Gryffindor girl?
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Heh, heh. She's not so bound to house colors now that she's been out of school for a while. She likes to be daring too.

If only she were privy to the thoughts in his head, she would have more confidence and hope.

Wouldn't that be so much easier. They should both use Legilimency on each other at the same time. Then all the stupid walls would fall away.

Doh... how did she explain to Harry and Ron her reasons for being there? I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that convo. "Well, you see boys, I'm trying to seduce Snape by getting this book for him."LOL.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Lol. I doubt she'd be that forward about her plans. She knows what the reaction would be. She just told them she's doing her job and Snape commisioned her to find the book. I'm sure they gave her some flack and asked how she could be in his presence for more than two minutes. That was a great question, and I wish I had thought to address it in the story. It would have made for some good humor. Heh, heh.

OI! Crappy curse right there. Poor thing... thank goodness Severus is with her.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Yes, she's lucky she listened to him and stayed with him.

Hm... I hope that isn't a bit of foreshadowing or prognosticating on Severus' part. I'd hate for such articles to be written of him.

That would be awful, but not surprising, given the newspapers we'd be dealing with. His trip will be a secret... just how he likes it.

An excellent piece... and Hermione is right: with a voice like his, Severus should have an amazing singing voice.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Yes, he should. But he'll never open his mouth to prove it. Lol.

Using his quick mind to get to his heart... a brilliant strategy!

She's not the brightest witch of her age for nothing! She's fighting dirty. That's the only way she can win.

Jerk... he should have been grateful that she taught him such a practical and useful spell!

You're right, but some men just can't be given advice, especially from a woman of all people!

Oh, I wonder what sort of relationship she has with Ron now. I love the start of this story. Hermione is obviously doing something she loves, and we could all be so lucky.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
As you saw, her relationship with Ron, (and Harry) are both good ones. They are all involved in their own lives, but take time to see each other.I am a definite believer in doing what you love. Those of us who can are extremely lucky.

I love it when Hermione plots... seems she is going to get her man. :D
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
She is an excellent plotter. But Severus is a hard nut to crack. She will have to be patient, and she knows it.

Brilliant: antiquarian books; Venice; Hermione and Severus - all on the list of my favourite things - and a fascinating plot besides.

Thanks! What could be better than a mystery in a romantic venue for our two heroes?

You have piqued my interest. I hope that Hermione works her way through this seemingly dead end. :)
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
She will. She is Hermione Granger, after all.

"The man was a sex god in loafers." That's an accurate description. Subversa always says he is "sex on legs." Also accurate. Severus Snape is every SSHG shipper's ideal man, wizard, lover... I could go on and on. *Sigh*This chapter is excellent. I would love to have been a fly on the wall when Severus realized it was a two bedroom suite. Would the look on his face have betrayed disappointment?===“Just what are you doing in my library?” the ghost demanded. You said that there was a small clue in this chapter about who this ghost is... Weeeelll...... the question the ghost asked them, and the tone of his demand, sounds just like Severus Snape, all round good guy and snark extraodinaire... so my guess is that this ghost is none other than Barnaby Sutton, Snape's great-great-.....-great grandfather. In Chapter Eleven we read that they had found a clue that said Sutton "had been invited to summer with Horatio Holt in his villa in Venice. So, of course, my fertile imagination jumps to the possibility that Master Holt may have left his villa to his student and friend, Barnaby Sutton. After all, we have seen no indication that Holt had any living family during that time, soooo..... Why not?Your story is so much fun to follow, and while I understand why we are left until after the voting before we learn more, I still must point out that this cliffie comes at a most inopportune time... a very inconvenient time for this impatient reader. I will be waiting with bated breath until your next update.Well done! Beth

Excellent guess and very logically argued. However, not exactly right. You're forgetting whose villa/castle that is.Sorry about the cliffie. These things happen. At least no one is in mortal peril... yet. Mwahahaha. Man, I keep gloating evilly today. Gotta stop that. As for my sex god in loafers--yum-o. I too could go on, but I won't.

love this story! is the hotel a real place or did you make it up? it sounds divine. thanks so much for the lovely upsate.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
The hotel is real. If you do a search for Hotel Danieli, you can find their website. It's even more elegant than I've described. It's very old world European. If I ever go to Venice, I'm staying there!

GAH!!! Evil cliffie! That should be an official warning, I swear... Evil Cliffhanger, Explicit Sexual Content, etc. I hope they can get the book... and really, I think it's time they admit their feelings and get it on! I look forward to finding out who you are, the writing is super!
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Wow, thanks! Sorry for the cliffie, but, not really. Mwahahaha. (I have to get that in occasionally.) That's a great idea to have an official warning, although, I wonder if that would cause a loss of readership? It might be worse for the reader, knowing throughout the whole chapter that it's not gonna end well. You wouldn't be able to concentrate! All will be revealed eventually. Including my identity!

Nice chapter, I like how Severus's past behavior has nibbled his butt. It may be understandable, but it still has repercussions.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
You're so right, and I don't think he's come face to face with these types of repercussions until now. He's never had to confront a disgruntled student about his dealings with them. And with it being someone he cares for, it's doubly hard.

Brilliant chapter, I can't wait to see who the ghost is and what it is about. Hermione sure is giving Severus up the road. I love it.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
That will all be told in the next chapter, I promise. There is a hint in this chapter, but I will say no more. Thanks as always.

They are so clueless. I hope they don't miss their opportunity. Great chapter.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Severus' opportunity will eventually hit him in the face. After that, he would be a fool not to do something. Severus Snape may be many things, but he's no fool.

Aww, I hope Severus will admit his growing liking to her. I mean, how much rejection can he get if he just tells her he likes he company and that he needs a hug now and then>? :D
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
But does this man think that way? I don't think so. AFter what happened with Lily, he's afraid. Yes, the bravest wizard in the world is afraid of admitting his feelings. And when he does finally admit them fully to himself, what will his reaction be? There's the rub.I love your concept of a hug now and then. I think we'd all like to do that for him!

EVIL EVIL EVIL AUTHOR. That is much worth than a common cliffie. You tell what will happen next and just it won't be after the voting is over. Grrr. *shall pout until the next chapter*

Author hangs head in shame. Sorry, but a break must be had. The rest of the story is just waiting to be posted, so I will update as soon as I am able to. Just take solace in the fact that we are one step closer to them realizing their feelings for one another. Quick, somebody hit Severus over the head and knock some sense into him!
