I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

"She only hoped that she could break through the walls that he had built around Severus’ feelings and get him to like her."Dear Old Sev will stand no chance against her

The long line of potion makers is a nice touch. (I, too, sing along with instrumentals of many kinds!)

It's oh so much fun. The Requiem is a Choral/orchestral piece, so it actually has words and vocal parts.I kind of thought it would be fun that such a talent in potions would have been inherited.

I'm glad he decided to help her. I wonder what kind of ideas he has come up with that she wouldn't have.

He couldn't really help himself, now, could he?

Nice chapter. They seem to be developing a good working relationship. With luck it might diversify from working into other areas. For the record, I'm rather fond of Mozart's requiem too. We used to sing it in our school choir (many years ago). Don't like Mozart as a rule, I find him kind of lightweight and superficial, but his requiem is different, stirring and passionate. It's just a shame it took his impending demise to make him grow up and use his talent to its fullest. Just thought I'd share my contoversial views.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Controversial indeed! Mozart is very lightweight in most cases. I can definitely agree with that. But that was typical of the genre at the time. He was very forward thinking in his compositions. To think that he wrote some of them as a child is mind boggling to me. I'm not trying to change your view of Mozart. You are more than entitled to it. I think you'd probably enjoy the pathos of Tchaikovsky better? Maybe some Mahler? Anyway, I too enjoy performing the Requiem. It is an amazing piece, and definitely one of Mozart's greatest works.Hopefully their relationship will 'blossom' as it were. A little adventure never hurt a friendship in the long run, I think.
Response from helshez (Reviewer)
I'm not dissing Mozart, he was a prodigy and possessed an amazing gift. I personally think he wasted a lot of time showing off. Tchaikovsky's good, and the rest of the Russians too. My personal fave is Verdi. I'm going to a performance of his Requiem at the Liverpool Phil an a few weeks.

Hooray! Who would have thought that Severus would have had a diary that belonged to his ancestor, Barnaby Sutton? With this amazing archive of ancient Potions history, they will have a world of information to study – and both love studying and learning about obscure things.
This could be a very good platform for Hermione to launch her plan to (1) snare Severus' heart, and (2) find Potions for our Time by Horatio Holt.
You go, Hermione!
Loved the chapter!!!

Yes, hopefully this will be the key to both. That will make Hermione VERY happy.

this ought to keep them busy for quiet some time"I am available," could have two meanings she could have both lolI love most classical music
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Oh! I love that unintended double meaning! Ha ha. Hopefully she'll have both! I too love most classical music. I find some 20th century stuff to be challenging. Although that genre of music is always fun and challenging to perform, it isn't always pleasing to the ear!

Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
Dies irae, dies ila. Solvet saeclum, infavila. Teste davit cum sibila.--That's my favorite part of the Requiem. And at age 41, oh yes, I remember the bouncing ball. Although I don't think I've ever seen it in conjuction with Mozart before! Is'nt that bathtub to die for?

Oh what help from Severus! I am glad he's agreed to help and look forward to reading how they get on as their research progresses.

It's a great resource. That was one of the main reasons he felt like he had to help. He thinks they can find the book just as much as Hermione does.
Response from faeriebell (Reviewer)
With the two of them together, I know they can find it!!

Oh this was good, informative and hopeful! He was so nice to her. I wonder if he heard her squeal, though? and what he'd think of it? hmmm?
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
She really did make sure he had left before she squealed. Lol. If he had heard it, he probably would have thought she was out of her mind, and he definitely wouldn't have connected her enthusiasm with him romantically. "That would be absurd!"

She can't make her mind up whether to call him Severus, or sir. I imagine she calls him Severus in her mind, but it's not so easy face to face.
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
He actually scared her into calling him sir again with his irate response to her question. She definitely calls him Severus in her mind and oh so wants to call him Severus out loud more often!

That was really a big help. And a big piece of the puzzle. I'm almost as excited as Hermione.

it's whats inside that matters looks fade
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
You are so right! And in this case, the looks hide the worst parts inside. Also, I think the nicer your personality, the more beautiful/handsome you are.

Hermione knew just how to bait the hook, and now that she has set it, all she has to do is reel him in.But this is Severus Snape we're talking about here. this might be like hooking a blue whale and then trying to bring him in with out him breaking the line. Before it's all over with, she might be wondering what she could have been thinking!I really like your story and can't wait for your next update.Beth
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
She'll try to reel him in, but he will give her the fight of her life. Hopefully she can land him before that line breaks! Thanks for your encouragement.

Uh-oh...I don't think Severus knows what he's getting himself into. But then again, Hermione probably doesn't either.
It's been lovely so far and I'm looking forward to the next chapter!

Does anyone really know what they're getting into when they decide to do something? Probably not. I'm sure they will have some unexpected events happen. i'm glad you're enjoying it.

That's so great he's wiling to help her. Well "willing" is may be not the best word but still he's going to do it anyway...
Response from debjunk (Author of All She Ever Wanted: Money Can't Buy Everything)
I think it's more that he's compelled. It's like having an unopened birthday present sitting on your table. You know you should wait until your birthday, but you just can't help yourself. *Rip*
