It is true that reading each chapter from the both perspectives sometimes is too much. It feels like here is not enough new information in the 2nd part. Perhaps you could keep the two different viewpoints, but with only partial overlap of the timeframes ? This way each chapter advances a little more in time, like you have your two feet on different steps of the ladder, then you step up with one foot, but the other foot keeps on the same step. So the next chapter goes back a little in time, and then expands the story beyond the previous chapter's end.

 Anyway please write more stories !

First off, thanks so much for the story. It was truly fun.

In ref. to reading the story only from one of the POV's ... this was the only fault I found with "Ladder". The repetition. It would get a little ho-hum. I think it's a great style, but something 'more' has to happen to seperate the two sides, to make both sides of the story more interesting. A surprise or two thrown in that only one character experiences without it being repeated.

  It's over?  This was such an amazing story.  One of my absolute favorites on this site.  I loved it.  The ending was very good but I can't help wanting to know about their lives in the future.  Well I can't wait for some more stuff from you!  Thanks for sharing this story with us!

I'm not a man, but I thought Severus' pov concerning sex was believable.  It sounded right to this lowly female.   Do you have a link to the Quill and Parchment Awards?  I'd vote for you.  I love the set up and form of this story.  Are there any more chapter coming?  an epilogue?

If I had to try and decide which version of this scene was hotter, I'd be thinking for a very long time.  Damn, they're both extremely hot!  And the wake-up scene is just the perfect last bit of resolution.

I like the alternating POV.  (Shocking, I know.)  But if you decide to post versions with just one or just the other, it would be interesting to see what it's like to experience the story that way.

An absolutely delightful read... Though these last two chapters completely contradicted my previous assertion. Severus' perspective was every bit as delicious as Hermione's; and while it felt complementary, the intensity of his perception in this part didn't overwhelm those Hermione displayed in her rung. Their respective emotions simply resonated throughout their individual point of view.

A tiny, minute typo that slipped through - 'her hips flair nicely,' when they should 'flare.' ;-)

Ooh, and the culmination of the chapter made for an exquisite ending to the story as a whole.
