I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.

Intereting premise. Snape is all business and smart, too, getting the awkward feelings out of the way first. A good manager as well to accept the input of his staff. You're off to a good start.

Hello and thank you for the review. I think Severus has spent enough time teaching and watching both the Dark Lord and Dumbledore to know what to do and what not to do. He isn't one to waste any learning opportunities.
I liked your first chapter, especially the part where Severus allowed the others to say they were sorry and to accept their appologies, that was a vital step towards a new start. Minervas suggestion on how to handle the DADA-position was brilliant, I liked that one. I am very much looking forward to read more.

Hello and thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. I'm really pleased you have enjoyed the premise and the action of the first chapter. Do please keep letting me know what you think.Bestx
Making them apologise and get over themselves was a good move. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review,It's lovely to hear from someone whose stories I enjoy :)I'm glad you think it was the right course of action for Severus.x
This sounds as if it has promise. I like the idea that he jsut boldly placed the awkwardness out there for them all to get over. That is something I would have done. But then again - I do have, as much as I am ashamed to admit it, SOME Gryffindore tendancies. I do not know if a Slytherin would have done that. Also, one more thing, you have an irregular use of quotation marks. In Minerva's first spoken dialogue, you use the double quotation, in the rest of the piece you use the single quotation. I look forward to more of this.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you so much for the review and the constructive criticism.I think Severus used that move because he knew that otherwise the others would beat around the bush to apologise and it would be more uncomfortable for him. He seems the type of man that would not like to have emotional issues hanging in the air preventing the getting on with things.Thank you so much for noticing the double quotation mark issue - I had not and will now make the needed changes. Hugs of gratitudeT
Of course he'd think she was going to reject him. Glad she went right ahead and told him what she wanted. And he in turn showed her what he wanted!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review. Yes, Severus is always ready to think he is being rejected, and so in turn does the turning away first. It had to be someone like Hermione with her ternacity to actually get to him.
Wow, some kiss! Can't believe they managed to walk away from one another so easily.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review and the stars. I don't think walking away was easy, but Severus does have isses of control and that's the thing that is forcing him to behave the way he is. He wants Hermione to be absolutely sure. I guess he is afraid deep down that she might leave him once he's invested his heart.
Ahhh... LOVE! lol... I really like this story - the way they've discovered their passion for each other is very real. Can't wait for more!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review and the stars. I'm so glad you're enjoying the story. I admire your writing too.
Passion in the hallways. :D Better hope Peeves doesn't cotton on! :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review. No, I've thankfully made sure Peeves is not around :)
Very steamy. I like this building up of passion. I suspect you will have us continue to wait a bit more before their initial encounter.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
:) Hello and thank you for the review and the stars. Yes, I think a bit more time is needed because Severus has issues that need to be addressed.
I'm glad for Minerva, She definitely helped Hermione to see Severus differently. And that helped her to show him that she was no Lily. (thank heavens!)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thanks for the review and the pretty stars. Yes, Minerva is finally stepping in the to her role of wise mentor.
I figure if Severus can make her feel like that when he's drunk and in a piss-poor mood, just wait until he's sober and genuinely wanting to please her! Hermione won't know what hit her! Best all around that they wait, though--that way, nobody will have doubts that they forced anybody, or that they weren't really ready, or any of that. Sev's got enough extra emotional baggage to cart around without adding any more.Glad Hermione was in top Gryffindor form, and went to confront him! I look forward to the next chapter.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thanks for the review and the pretty stars. I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. Yes, Hermione will definitely need to be a Gryffindor to make Severus see sense if their relationship is to progress.
Hmm. Wasn't the best scenario for their first intimate encounter, so just as well he held himself in check. She will appreciate that later, I'm sure! ;)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thanks for the review. I'm sure she will, though if he continues to play hard to get, well she might have more than one issue to contend with :)
Seems he's all over the seduction part, but has a way to go in the love area!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review. Indeed. But then, not having known love, he's more likely to not realise until it hits him full on the face.
a clever story!can't wait for more ^^
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review and stars. I'm glad you're enjoying the story. The next chapter is in the queue.
I just love those sneaky Slytherins when they're courting! Even taking a lover has to be all Byzantine and complicated in its execution...it's like looking at those Family Circus comic strips where you see little Billy's route from point A to point B and he goes all over the map just to get there. Will Severus be outwitted by a Gryffindor? One can only hope! This is a fun read, and I'm enjoying each and every chapter.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you so much for the review and the lovely stars :) I do think that Severus is going to be in for a surprise in the not too distant future. Hermione is the Gryffindor Princess for some very good reasons after all.
what a facinating story! i'm really enjoying your darker (but not bad!) severus and his plots and musings. thanks and i look forward to the next chapter. mucho smoochies
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you so much for the review. It's really nice to hear from someone who is enjoying a darker, in my mind, sexier Severus :)
Interesting first chapter. I look forward to reading more.

Hello and thank you so much for the review and the lovely stars :)
That was convenient. She is falling right into his hands, but will he fall into hers first? :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review. I think they will fall into each others' hands :)
a wonderful story. I like the staff you have chosen. Hopefully along the road there will be some "treatment" possible for Ron, Harry and other with "aftermath-problems" and a love for Hermione (Severus!)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review,I'm so glad you like the staff being chosen. As for treatment, I think that as they grow up, they will learn to manage the change in their magic, and even if they don't go back to the nice people they were, they will stop being so horrible, because life will teach them and show them what happens to horrid folk. There's only so much fame and prestige will give you before people turn around and kick you for the arse you're being.Hermione is indeed in the right place for love, especially since Severus will have a fair bit of motivation to woo her.
a wonderful chapter, I really like this story so far! Good for Hermione, having escaped the stupid boys at Grimmauld Place and find a home and peace at Hogwarts. Now all she needs is a bit of romance coming along...*wink*
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review.Indeed, a bit of romance is what is in store for her - though I think, Severus would not like being refered to as a bit ;)
Response from ginny24 (Reviewer)
ah well in my eyes,Severus is nowhere near to just being a bit....lolso I correct myself: let`s hope there is one hell of romance coming along for Hermione..;-)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
That's more like it :) It's so strange, but I can sometimes almost hear Severus sitting behind me and whispering in my ear - I do think he's become a part of my psyche sometimes :)For example, he's sneering at my use of smilie faces at the moment. So I won't add any more. Hard though it is.
A wonderful chapter. Not only was the Hermione/Ron relationship ended, but Hermione realised just how much more she cared for Harry and Ron compared to what they felt for her. She was very correct in pointing out to Ron that as a friend she deserved better treatment than what she got. I love your "collection" of theachers, I liked that you had Bill added, but bringing in Andromeda, no matter how small part she will have in your story, was really good. I like it when a story tells us about "life after" for most of the characters we have gotten to know during the books, and Andromeda has lost so many of her loved ones, to get to see that life goes on for her too makes me glad:-))I am very much looking forward to read more.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you so much for the review.Yes, I do like knowing what happens to other minor characters as well. I think Andromeda needed something other than her losses and her grief to focus on, and being around young people, will help her, and Teddy in the long run. Besides, with Poppy, Minerva and Pomona for company, she will never be alone, which I think is the worst thing for dealing with loss.
Great chapter. It really sets the scene... Now, she just needs to fall in love with Severus, right???
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review,Indeed, now she just needs to realise he's the one. Which won't be too hard given the Slytherin cunning Severus is about to use :) And that's a tip about the coming chapter :)
Poor Hermione. I am so glad she got out of that house. I am concerned for her parents, and for Harry and Ron, and others effected by the war. An interesting tale. HOw nice that thre is a baby at Hogwarts.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello and thank you for the review.Yes, I think the war has really changed everyone in lots of ways, and as the story progresses, some of these changes will come to light.
ohh the plot thickens! as I said before this is well-thought-out. I am so glad I found it.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello again,Thank you. I love hearing back from readers, especially when they say lovely things like you've been saying. Hope the rest lives up to your expectations.
An excellent begining! sensible and in character. I like my fanfiction well-thought-out, so I like this.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
