I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.

Well, he actually took that better than I would have thought. Now Minerva needs to keep any gossip under strict control. She better deal with her cubs before they become marauders.

Indeed. I think that Severus has mellowed a bit, and now that his two masters are gone, he is not constantly under pressure. It's amazing he managed to be as controlled as he was during the war given the way he was pulled to and fro by Dumbledore and Riddle.
Good for Hermione!

Yes. I think so too :) Thank you so much for leaving a review. I do appreciate it.
Why would Ginny think she could get out of finishing school? Harry and Ron are older than she is and can't very well be told what to do. They missed their 7th year under duress. I am a little bit surprised Ginny wouldn't see the value of finishing school. I guess it's harder when Fred and George dropped out of school too and now Ron. But Fred and George had a plan and skills to make a living from. And of course, the money Harry gave them. Has she noticed what an ass Ron has become? He and Harry are stupid not to go back to school but they are young and making the kind of choice I would expect from immature boys with a full of angst and the particular sense of entitlement that is only seen in the angry young person who feels wronged. How is Mr. Weasely doing? Will he have any say over Ron's behavior? If Severus is aware that his bad behavior is indeed bad behavior, I would think he might seek to channel that in a healthier way once he gets over the trauma he's experienced and put the school in order. Maybe a dueling Master competitions would be a safe outlet for his aggression. Some competitive sport would be good for him. Very interesting start. Good job.

Thank you so much. I do appreciate you taking the time to leave a review as well as raise some very interesting questions/suggestions.Ginny I think assumes that she can get Harry to marry her. I mean, at this point, all she wants is to be the wife of the Boy-who-lived and have a free ride. She knows he's got money, and to be a socialite, you don't really need to be very clever. She's got her OWLs after all.Yes, I do like the idea of a dueling competition - pity I didn't think of it myself while I was writing the story. Do you mind if I make a note of this, it might turn up at some point in some story or another.

Please feel free to use the idea! I have been reading SS/HG stories for so many years that I'm sure if I ever have the courage to publish a story I won't be able to remember if I got an idea from one of the probably hundreds of stories I've read or if it is cannon or an original thought. I have opionions that I think are my own then I read a story and an author had the same thought. Maybe those of us who love Severus and Hermione as a couple think a lot alike.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello again,Yes, it is possible that many of us who do adore Hermione and Severus do feel and think the same way. I guess there is a reason so many of us, scattered around the world find in them so much to enjoy, appreciate and discuss. You should try your hand at writing. I read fanfiction for years, never having the courage to try until one day, I just thought, fuck this, some of these stories are horrid, I can do better and just sat down to write :)
OMG... loved this so much. What are you working on now? Hint, hint, hint :-)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)

Thank you so much for reading till the end and for the reviews and lovely stars. xxx
I liked the idea of all of these people, so different and yet so similar, coming together for the good of the world. There was no easier or better way to accomplish the things they wanted to make things better for the next generations. Thanks for sharing your story with us (and giving them a happy ending!)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you so much for your review and the pretty stars. Thank you also for reading the entire story and staying with it until the end. I couldn't not give them a happy ending. I love the characters too much to make them suffer unto eternity.
Ah, truer words I have seldom read than these: "plants required love, and they all provided the Herbologist or gardener peace of mind, forgiveness and above all, control. Plants took time to grow, time that allowed for contemplation, meditation and grounding." Thanks for a lovely concluding chapter to a really enjoyable story!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you for a lovely review and the pretty stars. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story and its culmination. I always did think that it was Neville's skill at Herbology that grounded him so much. xxx
Nice way to end it. Thank you for sharing! :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)

Great story. You create such inventive plots - your stories are a joy to read.

i hope this is not the end. i look forward to reading more of your excellent tale,.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
No, of course it is not the end. It would be an extremely abrupt way to end surely?
Response from Madame DeFarge (Reviewer)
sometimes stories get abandoned ... when the muse fails or people dont tell you how good it is!!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Ah, I see. No, I've never really abandoned something. So no worries there. Hope you continue to enjoy the story.
Excellent! A very enjoyable story. The characterizations are wonderful and the plot is excllent. The smut scenes are beautifully written as well, not contrived at all. I'm saddened to see how Ron and Ginny have treated Hermione and Severus and I hope their time away will help. I am very much enjoying Harry's attempt to be better and get his darkness under control. Looking forward to read more chapters.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you for the review and the stars. I guess, where Harry goes, Ron and Ginny will try and follow. And although Ron's attempt was out of line he did mean well. So there is hope. xxx
Good. Harry's heading in the right direction. And cake helps. :)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Indeed, cake always helps.
yay! harry's growing up! wonderful update. thanks and mucho smoochies
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you for the review. Glad you liked it.
Thank you so much for the update. I love this story and this chapter was brilliant. You made me smile for Severus who realised just how stunted his future migth have been if he had "won" Lily way back when, and how perfect he and Hermione are for eachother. You made me swallow a rather large lump in my throath for Harry, him having to face the truth about his parents. That also showed, for me at least, how special Harry and Hermione are for eachother, they are so much alike: Both of them sees and aknowlegde just how horrible the Mauraders behaved, how Lily betrayed a friend, and how completly unfair and unacceptable such behaviour are for the both of them. With time he will hopefully realise that he is allowed to miss them and love them, Sirius included, no matter how unperfect they were, they loved him and him loving them doesn't mean that he approves of their behaviour. I am so much looking forward to read more:-))
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you so much. You're reading of their motivations were spot on. Yes, the next chapter is going to be interesting - I'm having trouble getting the men to talk about their feelings though.
I can't say I agree with Harry apologizing for his parents much less Sirius, Remus and Peter. Their actions are not his burden to bear. I hope he only apologises for his own actions - and that Severus does the same.Regardless, I'm with debjunk: this should be good...
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Mm.... thank you so much. I think Harry's words to Hermione are going to be a lot different to what he says to Severus. You know what men are like, they speak a different lingo when they have to discuss feelings to each other.
Response from ladyljd (Reviewer)
I hear you. It's hard to have a meaninful yet distant and terse conversation. At that's how I see men who dislike each other addressing their feelings to one-another.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Definitely. I think also that while Harry can tell Hermione of the guilt, the sense of disquiet he feels when he thinks of Sirius, his father and mother, that to speak of those feelings to Severus is something completely different.
this should be good...
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you :)
Short, but sweet. Now to see how Severus takes the apology from Harry...
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Mmm... that's proving to be hard to write actually - the boys don't want to be seen as vulnerable in front of each other.
Severus certainly is passionate, lucky Hermione. Great chapter, well worth the wait.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. Yes, I do think Hermione is a lucky woman, but then, so is Severus. Finally he can be who he's always been. He has no need to hide, to distort who he really is.
Nice story so far, thank you. Looking forward to more.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you for the review. I'm glad you've enjoyed it thus far.
Another great chapter and one that I had missed so I'm glad I went looking for this story. I think the profile of the eagle would suit Severus in addition to the personality. Hermione is definitely an owl. Nicely done. I'll look forward to your next chapter. lol hopefully I won't miss it.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. I'm working on the next chapter now - so hopefully something should be posted fairly soon.
how glorious! amazing what you can see thru the eyes of love. thanks so much for the wonderful update and mucho smoochies

Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Hello. Thank you. I don't know where you could go for food like that but, if you're interested and like cooking may I recommend a book called Ceylon Cookery by Chandra Dissanayake. I use it for a lot of my Sri Lankan dishes. It's easy to use and a good introductory text. I'm added on the amazon ulr.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ceylon-Cookery-Chandra-Dissanayake/dp/9558733067/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1269643917&sr=1-1
