I'm a 30 something home-maker, writer and researcher. Harry Potter fanfiction is my passion and my great escape from everything. I am deeply in love with Severus Snape and he is the only man I would ever consider leaving my husband for. I am most fond of happy endings. Life is too full of angst and heartache, my dreams and thoughts need something more uplifting.
I was born in Sri Lanka and have lived in India, Poland and now, obviously the UK.
I love food, so many of my stories will have detailed descriptions of things I'm currently craving. I also love travelling, the arts and crafts, cooking, baking, oil painting, especially the pre-Raphaelites, literature and culture in general. My favourite colours are at present are royal purple, silver, emerald green, true red and fucshia. Colour is like music, it speaks silently to the soul when it needs it most.
Reviews for What Is This Thing Called Love?
I love Neville so I am thrilled that his parents are back to normal, good job Severus and Hermione. The story behind the ring is beautiful, Hermione is a lucky witch.

Thank you. Yes, I do adore Neville - he and Luna are two of my favourite minor characters.
I'm glad you liked the story behind the ring.
What a beautiful meaing to the ring stone, and it was quite lovely the way the cured the Longbottoms. Hopefully her friendship can be saved with harry.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Mm... yes, hopefully now that Harry is getting some real help he can learn to control the darkness within him. Glad you enjoyed the meaning behind the stone.
I really enjoyed this chapter, not only because of Neville getting his parents back, but also the magical lore surrounding the red sapphires on Hermione's ring and Harry's journey back to wholeness. I know Hermione would have liked a longer and friendlier letter from Harry, but he's got to start somewhere and he's at least making an effort. I feel confident he'll continue to improve, and Ron and Ginny hopefully will too or they'll be left behind by all their old friends.Looking forward to the next chapter!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. Yes, I think now that Harry's started on his journey that he will help Ron and Ginny get with the programme as it were. Also, they are getting real help, not just head shaking by those in the know.
I'm glad you enjoyed the myth behind the red sapphires. I wanted so much for the Longbottoms to recover. I'm glad I got to use that as a sub-plot in this story.
More up soon. Promise.
I am glad that Neville has his parents back. This was a good chapter and I liked how you explained the red sapphires. I am also glad that you have Harry and Hermione start to mend their friendship.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. I really was surprised at the controversy the red sapphires raised. People kept telling me they didn't exist and that I'd got my facts wrong :)
Lovely chapter. I espeically love the explaination of the stones on her ring. I'm glad Harry has finally started to slowly come around but I think its going to take some time to repair his friendship with Hermione.I liked how she stated very clearly to him about her relationship with Severus. As for Ron and Ginny hopefully they get their heads out of the sand and get their darkness undercontrol and stop being gits. I give you two thumbs up and five stars
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you so much :)
Yes, I think Harry's on the road to recovery now and hopefully Ginny and Ron will not be too far behind. At least their issues are being addressed instead of just being ignored or swept under the carpet.
Wonderful, wonderful update. You are giving us such a great story!!!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you so much. I'm really glad you're still reading and reviewing this far into the story.
Great chapter! He seems to really have enjoyed his gifts. ;)
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Indeed, and why shouldn't he. He's earned it after all.
beautiful

Thank you :) I'm glad you think so.
It's a bit warm in here. My face is red. You may have to put a note to turn on the AC before reading.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
I'll remember that for next time :)
This was another good chapter. Please update soon.

Thank you for the review. More up soon.
Whew.... Excuse me while I go throw a glass of cold water in my face. Spicy!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you :) I felt it was needed to chase away the chill of winter :)
Wonderful and totally hot!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. I'm so pleased you've enjoyed it.
They are wonderful together, so evenly matched in every area of life. I can't wait to see what they are up to next.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. I wanted Severus to find his soul-mate. He deserved it after everything he's been through.
Wow, he has hit the jackpot with this girl. I hope he doesn't do anything to wreck it. Not that Severus ever messes relationship things up ;) Of course thinking back to the bedroom, she didn't make out so badly herself!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
No she didn't. And I don't think Severus is going to wreck this relationship. He's learned from his past mistakes.
I'm glad Harry is starting to get the picture. Wow, how horrible all of this had to happen to make them see sense. Poor Hermione. She needs Snape as much as he needs her.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Indeed. But sometimes a really horrid experience is needed to make people see the light. No one was willing to openly admit how far down the hole the Weasleys had gone until this happened. Now things are in the motion to give them the help they need.
beautiful. I am so glad Severus has someone who loves and trusts him.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Yes. I just wish he was real, so more of us fanfiction writers had a chance to show him some real love and respect :)
Finally Harry is pulling his head out of his arse. This is a very good story, and I just love all the Severus-Hermione interaction. I like how most of the angst and problems they face are not with each other - makes their relationship even more enjoyable to read about.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. Yes, Harry is finally starting to see sense and is coming into his own. I'm glad you are enjoy the story. Thank you for the review and the lovely stars.
Wow, what an awful thing to do to someone! I think it was handled very well by all parties (except Ron and Ginny, of course). I actually think I feel more sorry for Harry at the moment than Hermione. What a debacle! But they will get through it, and hopefully all will get what they have coming to them.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Yes, I agree. This was really good not only for the Weasleys so that they could get the help they need finally but also for Harry so that he can see what's going on around him.
Wow we got both the crime and guilty caught in one chapter! Now to find out further punishment...
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Indeed :) Perhaps I should have called the chapter Crime and Capture :)
that was so beautifully handled. with harry assenting how could the duplicitious duo say no? wonderful update!! thanks so much and mega smoochies
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. I am so glad you approve :)
Finally, Harry sees the need for self examination, perhaps Ginny, Ron and even Molly will follow suit!
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Indeed. There's hope for the Weasleys now that action is being taken for their darkness. Thank you for the review and stars. xxx
I am glad that Harry is finally seeing Ron and Ginny for what they really are. It's just a shame that it had to be at such a extreme expense to Hermione. Can't wait for the next update.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Thank you. Yes, but at least now there's no denying the affects of the dark and real action can be taken to curb the disease that's taken hold of the Weasleys.
Oh my goodness, I'm shocked at Ginny and Ron's behavior, some kind of friends they turned out to be. I hope they get whats coming to them.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
They will be punished, but they will also be given the tools to correct the affects of darkness that's taken hold of them. So it's not all about punishment but also about cure.
Great chapter.I think you must dislike Ron and Ginny as much as I do.lol.It's great how Hermione's friends stand up for her.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
I do dislike them but I also pity them and understand where they are coming from, so I'm not writing them off completely :) I just think they should be shown for who they really are.
Wow. Actual consequences for bad behavior. How incredibly unique for a fanfic. Thank you so much for bucking the trend.
Response from kittyperry (Author of What Is This Thing Called Love?)
Well, I couldn't let them get away with it - that wasn't on, besides they needed the punishment so that they could finally deal with the darkenss that was consuming them.Thank you for the stars and the review. xxx
