Seventh-year student Hermione Granger decides to marry the one eligible wizard who did not ask for her--the horrid but powerful Severus Snape. All is not sweetness and light. Be careful what you ask for. Or, as has been said by many a wise witch, "Marry in haste; repent in leisure." MLC

BEST AUTHOR, Moste Potente Potions
http://community.livejournal.com/sshg_awards/33422.html
Care of Magical Creatures recently received two awards on "Secrets of the Dark Vaults," a Russian fanfic site. Best NC-17 and Best Maxi Translation. The Nine-Year Plan was awarded Best Mini-Fic! I'm delighted to be in translation and to please the readers in Russia!

With the completion of Care of Magical Creatures my fanfic output is going to slow way down, but if you want to be sure to know when new fics post, please follow me on twitter. I don't tweet much, but I'll surely tweet that kind of thing.
About Mia
I came to the world of Harry Potter relatively early, after first resisting it because it just seemed too trendy. But when the first book came out in paperback in the US I picked it up at the airport when I was about to catch a flight, and two chapters in knew I would be ordering the original from amazon.co.uk in hardcover as soon as I landed.
I came to fanfic late, waiting until after I'd read DH. That means I've been totally obsessed with the fanfic world of Harry Potter, and most specifically the SS/HG ship, since August of '07.
I'm helplessly and hopelessly hooked.
Reviews for Care of Magical Creatures
That is great! makes me want to delete whats on my computer. (kowtows) More, please!!The wedding night was very well written and very surprising, in that Hermione knew exactly what was going on without being told. Wow.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh my gosh, I have no idea what you're threatening to delete but don't do it! Goodness, you're going to give me a heart attack. LOL Thank you!
Response from TheBattyDragon (Reviewer)
If I get reeeelly, reeeeely brave, I might even share whats on my computer. If Severus could brew me a potion for courage? LoL@ me
oh, yes, I am very sure I like this story. I Love it! Aren't they the most adorable couple in the world? (if one might be so bold as to apply such a word as "adorable" to the Master of Snark) And I look forward to all the other chapters already. Than you for sharing!!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Adorable? Well, yes, I certainly adore them so that works well, doesn't it? Thank you!
Response from TheBattyDragon (Reviewer)
I think I have not only become addicted to "SnerMione" in general, but to the Marrriage-Law-Fics in particular. Oh, this is so much fun! (claps hands)
I love the "I have to do the right thing even though it may suck for me and I resent every choice I am makling" Snape. It is very true to form. I can't wqait for the next chapter!!!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you. He is SUCH a challenge!
Wow - that was just a roller coaster ride and you're leaving us hanging! I actually held my breath as I sped through the chapter, well done on the pacing, the suspense was rolling beautifully!
Can't wait for the next chapter!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you for your very kind words!
Ohhhhhhhh LORD.
Well, they're truly in it now, aren't they? This bond can't be ruptured except by death, and I'm going to make a wild guess that the bond somehow protects Severus from the wrath of the Dark Lord &c. &c.
I am hoping for some, er, gentler lemons later on...?
Compelling and sad, & a bit like Robin McKinley in parts.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh, I do promise gentler lemons. All kinds of lemons. Cross my heart.
That was pretty much a nightmare of a wedding and consummation. I can't wait to see where you take this.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I'll admit, it's enough to make Jane Austen roll in her grave!
Hardly an ideal wedding night, but it looks like they had little choice. I like how you captured the conflict in him and Hermione's completely unexpected (to him) response.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you so much!
I'm also an admitted MLC fic junkie, so your twist on the concept naturally got my attention. Oh boy. Oh man--I also hope that a bit of happiness will be in store for this strong, but rather star-crossed, duo.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
How could it not? They're meant for each other.
Wow! I love MLC stories and this is absolutely great - I'm looking forward to reading more soon.
I really like the way the you have taken a look at things from Severus' point of view; it really makes for a different story from most of them and I love hearing things from his point of view.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
This was supposed to be a "fun" story but Severus wouldn't cooperate. But I love what his pov has brought to the table. Thanks for liking it, too.
Wow, that was an excellent chapter. They've got a lot to deal with in the aftermath, though.
Looking forward to the next instalment.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you very much.
Wow! What an amazing chapter! There's really nothing else to say. That was...just, whoa.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you. This is the one I've been waiting for, hoping it didn't displease.
Ah, a new look at the not-so-new Marriage Law Challange. I like your idea and the way you write - a dynamic, lively style. Oh, and great move with McGonnagal - she felt protective of Snape instead of Hermione (the way it should be, I think). I can't wait for the next chapter!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thanks! I really appreciate it.
OMG! I wanted to cry for both of them. Gut-wrenching and... ugh.
Those types of wedding nights in theses MLC fics always kill me. But, in some situations, they seem so much more realistic.
Though, her last thoughts of feeling safe bode somewhat well. I hope that is truly the case.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you. I appreciate your responses.
I am speacless and breathless . I chan t wait next update. Pleas hury.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Breathe, Lora. Breathless is a compliment, but it's no way to live. Literally. (Sorry, sometimes I can't help myself.) The next one is in the queue!
I dearly hope they will have happier moments.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Sometimes we reap what we sow. I think they both deserve happier moments, so maybe they are ahead....
very good chapter. I am not mad or anything, she understood. I am interested to see what happens next. Why did you decide not to use lj afterall?
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh dear! I'm glad you're not mad. As for LJ, I just decided that I prefer the moderated forums, even though they take longer.
ohh, not the best of wedding nights. I'm sure he'll make it up to her! *wink*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
We can only hope!
Most interesting. Hermione is a bit too naive, but the others make up for it more than enough.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thanks - I hope my Hermione doesn't irritate you too much. She has a lot ahead of her!
I went away for a while and when I came back I found three whole chapters and another one in the queue; it's rather like Christmas! Ah, I love the way you're looking at the fact that poor dear Severus is in fact stretched very thin. And to have McGonagall point it out, then show up at the end! Pure bliss. I adore the mix of wit/ humour with the more serious elements--and having read the previous comments and your response I'm terribly glad you aren't involved in any of the secret Hermione hating competitions. That being said, what's the next miscalculation on the long list of 'Oh I shouldn't have done that' actions? And let's not forget the ever sexy possessive qualities of our favourite enigma...Waiting with baited breath!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Oh, thank you! And the next chapter should be up today!
I like the tightrope-like balance you've struck between Hermione's smartness and her naivete and the intriguing hints of what's really going on in Severus' mind. Looking forward to more already!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Thank you very much!
*bites nails*
Oh, Severus, Severus... what are you thinking, man? If only she knew what? I have dreadful feeling starting to form in the pit of my stomach... but I can't help but want to keep reading. :) Tell me one thing, please... is he telling her the truth? Not all of the information, I know, but...
*sighs*
*Stares at inbox to wait for update notification*
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Well, um, which truth are you asking about? This is Severus, after all. Ahem.
are you going to keep updating livejournal? If the next chapter is done, I want it! :) - maevenmeghan
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
Sorry, no LJ. It will be here and ashwinder, that's all.
great story line - just love the let me do that for you (bitting/lip) hope there's more coming!
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I'm glad you liked that line!
It's been a long time but the result is more than worth the wait. And I'm wondering what else could be said about those two. Not that I want this to be the end. I'm too much a happy-ending sucker for that.
Response from mia madwyn (Author of Care of Magical Creatures)
I think you may be surprised how much is left to be said. Not a lot of words or chapters, perhaps, but there are still issues...Thank you!
