An annoying event causes Hermione to choose to spend the Christmas break in seventh year away from her best friends, but Dumbledore feels she needs someone to watch over her. How will Hermione react to the appearance of the Potions master on her doorstep -- and how will they interact when cooped up alone together for days on end? This story was written for the SS/HG Winter Exchange on Live Journal, for the prompt: A weekend alone for Hermione in the Granger's residence. Suddenly the Potions master turns up on her door step. For whom the bell rings, it rings for you.

Reviews for Send Not to Know
This was a beautiful story! Thank you for posting it! I loved every word!
Great story! Thank you for writing it. As soon as I got notification of an update I was reading it! Well as soon as I noticed the email anyway! LOL!
All's well that ends well. I enjoyed this story very much, though I wanted to send them some air refreshener to spray that obviously funky stench from the room or toss them into a shower. Yikes. I wouldn't have gone to Nev / Gin's thingie either. ~snerk~
Fan - tastic! Yay! (I like the whirlwind writing bit - because I'm insanely impatient!!) ;-)
Great well-written story. In 9 chapters you were able to cover alot and still get the right effect. The interactions were enough to convey the emotional plot points- I don't know if that makes sense but that's the best way I can express it.
And the lemony goodness was fun too
Yay, a happy ending! Great work, and I hope to read more from you soon.
Wow that was so intense! When he told her to "O" I think I did also.
Thank you for the great story.
Excellent!!!!! i'm really gald i found ur stories on this forum too.... they are as brilliant as ever........loved this one...............as always and looking forward to more
*sniff* It was just so... beautiful! *sniiiiiiffff*Truly, I think you captured the essence of Hermione and Snape in the story and the romance. I can imagine that Snape would find the soothing aroma of baking and the peace and quiet of a week away from Hogwarts just the remedy. I imagine the memories kept him going when nothing else would. Truly a wonderful tale, and the last two chapters... Whew!! That's some smokin' action, girl!! Great job!GG
Oh I love how you write, and I love this story so much. I have been crying and laughing and smiling while finishing it up. Thank you very much :)
Sigh. It's the end. But what a lovely ending it is.
“You belong to me,” he asserted ...“Say it.” “ You belong to me,” she told him ... gasping, “Say it!”
GAH. That's all I can say.
“Have you been listening in to me having a pee?” she demanded in mock indignation. “No, I only got here in time for the flush and the smothered sniggering,” he answered ... “Look at this,” he said ... “Where did that come from?” She surveyed the purplish-black love bite at the base of her throat. “I was apparently attacked by a rabid animal,” she said ...
*Sniggers* I love this! It just makes me happy.
“I take it that Weasley and Krum were not proficient at the art of cunnilingus?” he inquired smugly. “God, no,” she whimpered, wriggling her hips to entice him to continue. “I’m sure they never heard of it. Don’t stop,” she implored. “Well, neither am I proficient,” he confessed ... “However, I intend to practice until I am very good.”
AGAIN! Are you trying to kill me here? *fans self* I need to turn on a fan. Whew.
Have I mentioned how much I love it when you write in all these parallel events? Harry and Ron show up again and THIS time ... well, it's a little different, isn't it? Woo-hoo! I love it when Harry asks what's going on and she answers "Precisely what you are imagining, Harry, I'm sure." LOL Love it!
And such a tender, happy ending and so satisfying. Children named Rose and Fox - oh, so sweet.
And so ends another wonderful story by Subversa. I adored it from beginning to end. I'll be anxiously awaiting your next story.
Thank you!!!! This was wonderful, and I really appreciate the fast posting - the suspense would have been unbearable at a slower pace.
Oh, oh, oh!!!!!!!! What a wonderful ending to this truly glorious story! What else COULD they name their children??? I'm happy that they didn't go to the party at the Burrow. A Christmas punch toast was a fitting tribute to the "other" happy couple tho. Ron and Harry obviously hadn't grown much in those years after the war. Let's hope after that Christmas they tried to. (But they sure made for a funny morning after heeehee)Just absolutely wonderful. A beautiful story that I have enjoyed immensely. Thank you for gifting us with it.
Woohoo! they're together agian! although... i think hermione should have held out for a bit longer!! and where's todays chapter? im reading ydays one today.. was hoping for a double read! aah well.. am gonna have to read todays chapter tomorrow.. there is another one right? you said 3 more chapters right?? anywho.. am looking forward to it! :Dpyro

Do you really think you would have held out against Severus if he said, "Let's test your theory," and kissed you? Gonna pat him on the head and tell him, "Maybe later?" Come on, now!
New chapter cannot go up before all the reviews are answered, so looks like it will post in about 15 minutes! And it will be the very last one. Thanks so much for taking this ride with me, Pyro! It's been fun.
WOW...What a nice christmas present... Severus naked and comply your every wish....REALLY NICEYou have a good flair when you write a love scene. Good work.Hugs Carmille

Hi, Carmille! I'm glad you liked my lemons. Thank you - I'm not as comfortable with those as with UST. One more chapter!
Oh my.... I have the best case of the warm and fuzzies that I have had in a long time! Excellent chapter to go with an excellent story, thank you for making them both so real for me, so human.“Why are you here, Severus?”His hand released her cheek, his eyes were cast down at his mug, and he took another sip of tea. “The Wizengamot cleared me, and the Ministry threw me out. I thought I might be able to get a cup of tea if I came to see you.”For some odd reason, the most moving lines in the chapter for me. almost had me welling up.Great job, shame we are getting to the end.... but I know it will be a sweet ending for these two. Thanks for writing!

Hi, Saracen 77! I am so pleased that the story seems real to you, my dear. That makes me feel very good, indeed. One more chapter, and we will be finished. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review for me.
happy dance, happy dance, happy dance, it's about time. But it was certainly worth the wait. Loved it, thank you.
Response from Subversa (Author of Send Not to Know)
Hey, doll - if you're happy, then I'm happy! I'm so pleased that you liked it! Thanks for playing!
Ever so sweet and haunting, the fragile friendship renews itself awkwardly at first... then turns at full tilt in a different direction (South, please! Near the lemon stand.) From the first inquisitive spark of lust, to a grand conflagration of passion, a melding of bodies and souls. Erm, as I was saying, great chapter! Can't say much more, that hasn't been said already. Lemonade anyone?
Response from Subversa (Author of Send Not to Know)
It would appear that the players heard your instrutions and headed South, to the Lemonade Stand. I am touched to know you found it sweet and haunting. Thank you so much for the note to let me know.
One more to finish us off ...
A wonderful story! I'm so glad I happened upon it.

Thanks,
Response from Subversa (Author of Send Not to Know)
- I'm glad you did, too!
“Look at me when I make you mine,” he commanded
You are a goddess of fanfiction writing, dearest Subversa, a goddess!! I think I'll be blushing for the next ten minutes *L*
Hermione's reaction was spot on, and I'm glad you explained the bit about the trial. Having thought about it, since both Dumbledore and Shacklebolt knew about her interest in Snape's welfare, perhaps it's not so unusual she got off easy
I absolutely ADORE the way you went back and started this chapter like when Hermione and Severus meet the first time! That was genius!!
What more can I say, this was awesome!
Response from Subversa (Author of Send Not to Know)
Ahh! I see that you, too, have a weakness for commanding men.
It isn't easy, being a goddess. One's tiara becomes caught in the clouds ...
Well, I am a bit addicted to parallelism in my writing, doll. I'm glad you like it.
Thanks for the note - it's been a terrific boost to post this story and answer all of the reivews. It means a great deal to me that you took the time to read and review. One more chapter!
I'm loving this story! I've read alot SS/HG stories, but this is really standing out in my mind - you've taken the most authentic characteristics (Hermione's light heartedness in the best of its sense and Severus's undisputable predominance) and composed an ever so gentle but strong symphony from these ingredients! I - oh WE ALL - waited for this chapter so longingly!! :) I'm checking back on your story daily - proving that I love it!!! Congrats!!! And thanks!!!

*big smile*
Hi, Homunuclus! Lovely to have you stop by for a read. I'm so pleased to know that you have enjoyed it up to this point. One more chapter, and the story will be complete. Thank you for taking the time to say "hello!"
Response from Homunculus (Reviewer)
Dear dear Subversa, I have a big question here: Would you grant me permission to translate your story to my mother language (which is German)? I would really love to do so (fyi, I'm Foreign Language Correspondent for German / English by occupation) and would post it on http://www.severussnape.de.vu/ which is a German Snape / Malfoy fanfiction website. YOU, of course, are and stay the author and own all rights of the plot!Would that be ok with you?
Oh, my!? That's one way to get re-acquainted after three years!? I'm just grateful you didn't drag me through chapters and chapters of misunderstandings before they ... um ... got together.? Or is that what happens next? ;)
Response from Subversa (Author of Send Not to Know)
Well, I'm glad you were happy with the relatively "quick" fix afforded here. I'm not a huge fan of angst, but some stories call for more than do others. One last chapter, my dear. Thanks for the note!
*sobs*Okay, THAT was the saddest thing I've read in a long time. "I was never here." AS IF! Oooh, Severus, we're going to have a little talk.
Response from Subversa (Author of Send Not to Know)
That was really mean of him, wasn't it? He can be SUCH a git, sometimes. But I really think he was trying to jar them both back to the reality of their situations.
Thanks for reading and for taking the time to drop a note, my dear.
