Reviews for Transcendent Quality of Remembrance
Your inclusion of "It Might Be You" was well timed, indeed.
TCM showed Tootsie this weekend as an Essential; a movie you must watch.
OOOOoooooooooo, I wonder what will happen now.
And will Hermione tell her plans before Severus discovers them?
:-)
Things are becoming more clear. Oh, Severus. If your wedding night was not proof enough, last night should have been. She desires you. She want's to be desired by you. It will take a very small nudge for that want to bloom into falling in love with you. It's what you want but are afraid of. ...And with good reason when Hermione's plans to leave him come to light. Hermione, change your mind about going to Salem. Bring it up before he hears it some other way and knows you have been keeping it from him. Tell him you hadn't broached the subject yet because you had changed your mind and it no longer mattered. You had made the plans when it seemed he had no interest in a relationship with her, but now nothing he or anyone else could do would induce you to leave him. He needs to hear that from your lips. He needs to hear that not even all the death eaters and demetors in the whole world could chase you away from him. Then ask him to help you plan the your furthering of your education. Make him a part of the decisions because they will affect you both. Even if you don't love him yet, this is a chance to build a bridge that will withstand many storms. Realize that this is at least the decent thing to do, that you owe him this much. Sigh...
Thank the gods! Now where do they go from here? It's a long story so I can assume that some of the places will be dark but then light again, dear Subversa. My instinct is that now that they have found something good, something that has the capacity to ruin it will immediately follow. My heart is pounding with anticipation. I hope the good continues for at least one more chapter.
Oh my! Please let this be salvageable.
Damned lack of communication!!! Both of them worried about taking advantage of the other. With Hermione imagining his poorly put, rude verbal responses and actions of respect for her are words and actions of rejection, and Severus' insistent refusal to believe anyone could ever want him, they are going to go insane for no good reason other than stupidity. She obviously wants him physically. Can't he see that? Does he just think she is a horned up teenage nympho who can't control her urges? Well, she thinks she is. If only he could be as pleasant in the bedroom as he is in public she might be able to get a clue and they could address their mutual insecurity. But Snape does not address emotional issues. How many miserable, seemingly spurned, lonely and hurt women have lived through long years of marriage believing they are unloved because the damned man doesn't do "the talking thing"? Then the neanderthal lives life believing he is married to an ice queen because he doesn't know how to communicate and isn't willing to learn. Well, nowadays they just get a divorce that might have been preventable if men weren't so stubborn. But we used to stay married because it was what civilized people did. Back in the day, not everyone married for love. Many married because it was expected, but I suspect that many also married simply to be able to have sex without guilt or public condemnation. It really wasn't that long ago that society in the US strongly frowned on unmarried sex. You got married or died a virgin. And still, women are the one stuck with the lion's share of the burden of an unplanned child, no matter what she chooses to do about it. I don't know who I feel more sad for, Hermione or Severus. Severus has the power to end this pain today, but I guess he has no clue. Hermione doesn't have enough power in the relationship to put a stop to his ingrained supposed "universal truths of life" without many tears and failed attempts at trying to make this a relationship. I'm sure her unintentional, yet insensitive teenage angsty comments and demands during the negotiations only made it clear to him that she was revolted by the idea of a true marriage with him. She was too young to know the bridges she was burning. She hadn't been able to think far enough ahead to realize the implications of those negotiations on her life many years later. She's young, inexperienced and was forced into a corner. While Severus' response to Arthur show he understands that, he isn't able to see some of the things she probably said that were hurtful were not really intended to hurt him, and if she had had the advantage of a great deal more life experience she probably would have said and done some things differently. I am certain that Albus Dumbledore has arranged this situation specifically with Serverus and Hermione in mind.
The mail run sounds ominous. :0
Their love making during the night was so beautifully written, and his endearing entreaty to her, 'Dream sweetly, little tempest," was just the catalyst to make her look for the book in her bag.
Finally Hermione has remembered her book, and her memories have come flooding back with the intensity of a raging river. Thanks the gods. But now I have this irrational (?) fear that all is about to go tits up.
•Hermione remembers her wedding night and how much love she and Severus came to feel for one another.
•Severus has finally decided that it is time to plan for his and Hermione's future.
•Arthur has gone to collect the mail for everyone.
•And I am worried just what sort of letters might be handed to Severus on his return.
And you chose this moment to leave us with an evil cliffie!
For shame! I will be eagerly awaiting the next chapter, and locating my humongous box of tissues just in case said tits do indeed go up.
I love this story, m'dear! Thanks.
Beth
PS- This chapter's song is totally perfect.
Aha .. the tear in the book! Can't wait to see what trouble this brings. lol.. All GOOD trouble of course, with these two!
Ooh! You great big tease! You had Arthur wittering away about how one's wife's problems become one's own, and poor deluded Sev was all but agreeing when you still have me biting my nails about the ructions to come when Severus discovers that Hermione is making plans to live on another continent for the next however many years without consulting him. I can't help but wonder if it'll be Arthur's trip that lights the proverbial fuse. And then we have Hermione getting her memories back and I have no clue how she's going to react to that either. Safe to say that I'll be back next chapter.
Well, it was too short for my liking, but I suspect it stopped there out of necessity. I feel something big coming. Could it be a problem with Arthur's trek into the outside world? Could it be something hot and steamy or ooey gooey romantic when she tells him she remembers? Could it be a super explosion when he and she both plan for futures that don't coincide? I know it's going to be good, I just don't know what. *dies of impatience*
Eep--unsure if you're forshadowing with Arthur leaving (intro=potential conflict/ drama), or just giving him an out for a bit. XD I think I'd be going 'round the bend cooped up that long by now, too.
Thank you for the update!
Okay, I have been so busy this week that I never stopped to review. Now, I am chomping at the bit to move on, so this will be brief by my standards.
I love how vigilant and protective Severus is of his wife while she is a patient. The My Little Pony was so endearing. When she wakes, it was the perfect time for him to start a new phase in their relationship. He just saved her, and she seems to feel a little closer to him than she had previously. But, I guess he just can't put himself out there. Poor guy.
The end, when he scooped her up in rescue mode, I was all swoony. And now, I'm off to read the shiny new chapter.
What a place to end the chapter! But, then again, I should have expected this. Eagerly awaiting the confrontation between Severus and Hermione regarding her memories. This is going to be good. Again, not that I expected anything less. Wonderful story from one of the best.
She finally remembers, or at least realizes that she's experiencing her memories. I can't wait to see how she reacts to this fact. I wonder if this will change her decision to go to America. I'm sure she'll question Severus about it, since she's not one to keep things to herself.
I knew it, I knew it - she did leave a clue in the book! Was thinking about a letter, though, maybe a sentence, but that one word was much, much better. Now looking forward to the happy couple's talk about the future - Severus is really setting himself up here - as Hermione is coming to terms with her feelings for him.

Oh my - I don't know why I completely forgot the little clue she left some chapters back. Bad reader! My only defense is that I may have been too engrossed with my most favorite bits that it slipped by. My apologies!
Oh my, what ways these two come together. Sort of like a tide, pushed up against each other so beautifully only to have time (or their own screwed up circumstances) pull them apart again. Now on to see what else will get in the way.... they make it so much fun! (or you do)
It's frustrating to see the list of mistakes and misunderstandings pile up on both sides, and yet the balance is held up by those beautiful moments of perfect understanding among the two. I'm still squeeing from all the delicious tension even though I chose to review a couple of days after I first read this chapter in the vain hope that I might become more objective and constructive; but nope, still in fangirl mode. It's great that you've had time to unwind with fellow mistresses of the craft, but even better to have you back now with all this awesomeness.
His tenderness comes out in all sorts of ways, but she cannot see it yet. But soon... :)
Now that the war is over he can afford to let her see his feelings for her, and then her feelings for him can awaken.
Why is everyone so angry with Hermione? she was trying to avoid Severus, so didn't miss him, if Vector was so concerned why didn't she ask Hermione where he was? Draco can't seem to make up his mind whose side he is on.
Ooooh ive waited for an update on this story. The effect of the curse has broken the elixar and the stirrings of his love for her has awakened by the effect of being carried by him n his scent and the little unicorn pony made me giggle
She is remembering more than just now, she is remembering then as well.
brilliant!!! hugs and chocolate!!!
Welcome back!
Finally our dear heroine seems to be falling in love with our dark hero, revealing her memories... But it is happening ever so subtly and slowly. I do wonder what it will take for her to realise they are true memories and not just dreams.
A lovely Chapter and I am - as always - eager for more!
The *image* of Severus Snape buying a My Little Pony (suffering the indignity of doing so) is just breaking my heart. :) He did anything he could think of to help make her feel better.
And I love the little scene at the end where she's cuddling against him as he carries her down the stairs. XD *personal weakness*
Thank you for sharing!
