The potion could take him out of her memory, but not out of her heart. And I don't smoke.

I don't smoke either, but sometimes nothing else can quite replace the imagery.I am very much enjoying your journey through the story, mick.

I hope no one is on the stairs, or they will be flattened. Oh Hermione be careful what you wish for, you might get it.
That chapter was a bit of a see-saw ride, Hermione is trying, but Severus seems a bit taken aback by it.
P.S. only Severus Snape could slam a door silently.
Why are they all there? more and more I feel it's for Hermione, Severus is so sad, he wants his wife back.
He can't be unaffected by what just happened, but there is more going on here than meets the eye. I'm trying to read between the lines, but I'm getting eye strain, so will go on to the next chapter.
SEE! THIS is why I wait to start one of your storys, until there are a few chapters up, you are the cliffie Queen and all bow down before you . I'm beginning to wonder if the fantasies that Hermione is having, are fantasies, or memories.
If Hermione doesn't pull her sox up, she'll have the whole house thinking Severus is beating her, or worse. He is doing his best to protect her, the least she could do is put in a little effort.
Wonderful to see a new story from you {joins the Conga line }
So He who should be named and shamed, is working behind the scenes, a "cold" war rather than a "hot" war, not that it makes it any the less deadly.
Oh My! They've actually almost managed to TALK! teehee Well, as much as these two can. I just love this whole story and the ride you're taking me on. Although I'm trying to brace myself for the upcoming bumps, I'm still enjoying the ride.

~smirks~They do have continuing problems with addressing all pertinent issues, but at least their focus is now towards one another, right?Thank you, my dear!

As always, she was distracted when she opened the cover to see the slight tear on the frontispiece—any damage to a book was anathema to her!—but other than making another mental note to mend it at the first opportunity, she put it from her mind and flipped through pages to find the hidden piece of folded parchment. Professor Moneta Muninn, the Head of the Wizarding Mnemosyne Project, had assured her that approval from the Board of Admissions was a mere formality. Now, all I can do is sit here and wonder what the significance of the tear is. And what sort of contact she has had with this professor. And what exactly this memory project entails. I have Severus syndrome: no idea what she is doing.I liked how Lupin, a perfectly acceptable man, is now lesser in her eyes since she only has eyes for another. Funny how that works. And oh how very jealous Severus is. Of course, Hermione is feeling a bit of it as well. I can understand how he is feeling, but I can't deny that the slap he received was deserved. And I like how even though he didn't apologize, they were honest with one another and got some things (some things) out in the open.I have to admit that all the while reading the scene after Hermione storms out, I was nervous that he would investigate what was so interesting in her book. And yet, part of me hoped that he would find it, just to get it out in the open. She doesn't know it, but she would feel better if she got it out in the open. And, while he may not be keen to travel with her, or to have her gone for so much time, I can't help but think that if she was upfront and honest he would be more likely to try to help her work something out. If he finds out she has been keeping it from him ...I once again find myself pining away for Friday, and unlike times past, it has nothing to do with the end of the work week. Any chance you are willing to let on how many more installments we can expect? This story is the best sort of addiction.

It was probably the closest he could come to an apology, sad to say. And as always, it is pure pleasure to me to read your thoughts and speculations. Thank you.

I don't know if I should be more concerned with how *he's* going to react when he finds out she's planning on "leaving him", or how she's going to react when she finds out he essentially preemptively Obliviated her memory of her wedding night at her behest, especially because she's previously referred to the consummation of their marriage as "grim" (and it was clearly anything but). Perhaps her course of study at Salem will allow her to recover her memory of her wedding night. THAT would be good. Maybe Severus would realise that. One could hope...
Response from Subversa (Author of Transcendent Quality of Remembrance)
I agree that there is, in some measure, culpability on both sides. I do think that the study of memory, which she had been interested in even before her marriage, would be doubly fascinating to her now, because of her predicament.

Wonder if they need a Potions lecturer in Salem? ;)

I've not kept up over the past month, and just sat down to read the last few chapters. Wow. The flashbacks to their wedding night are wrenching - incredibly tense, and getting more so as every minute passes. Hermione's Pepper-Up plan is heartbreaking. She's not stupid, she knows it won't work, but as long as they don't mention it... Parallels her avoiding talking about America, too. Ah, so good.

*very happy smile*You are responding emotionally just the way I hoped you would. It really is wrenching to see what they had and all she's forgotten and all he remembers ...

Oh my. How lovely. Jealousy -- of both partners... and apologies -- of sorts. But still an awful secret. She has to tell him, and when she does, how will she tell? Yikes!

I love a jealous Snape, even though I know it's not something one ought to encourage in real life. Thank goodness for romance novels!

As always, she was distracted when she opened the cover to see the slight tear on the frontispiece—any damage to a book was anathema to her!—but other than making another mental note to mend it at the first opportunity...I think this slight tear is going to be a meaningful part of the picture when Hemroine finally remembers their wedding night. Severus really made a hash of things when he flew off the handle in the kitchen. And clearly he had never heard about her "handy-dandy right hook." That slap in the face really gave him something to think about! When is she going to tell him about her plans to go to America? August is NEXT month. I sincerely hope their shower is filled with lots of love and adoration and sexy sex! Maybe it will pave the road for a good talk about what they want for their future. Or not. You know what? I'm scared of what will happen when she tells him she is going to the Salem Witches' Institute. *iz worried*Beth

*grins*Dearest Beth, you are quite the prognosticator. I salute you speculation! As I think about it, I think my Hermione usually gets a chance to punch Snape in my stories ... what does that say about me?

Yes, you evil woman, you've got me hooked on a WIP. Good news, karelia's fic just needs a final polish and I spent a little time today looking for piccies. Still not found the ones that grab me. I mean, I have one of Bernadette Peters in a perfect pose, but she's obviously way too old for Hermione in this picture, but I'll get there at some point.

You should have a comment from LJ with the first draft of banners and icons, but I may end up playing some more another day.

So glad to see they are still progressing and not melting down further. Though of course there's a tempest coming when Sev finds out about Hermione's plans. The interspersed scenes of their honeymoon are so lovely, and so sad to know she's forgotten.

It's good to see things going well between Severus and Hermione, but I think she's in the wrong by keeping her secret from him. She's going to seriously hurt him when she decides to leave, but at the same time, I know she doesn't remember what happened on their wedding night. If she did, then she would never leave him. I hope she does get that memory back.
Response from Subversa (Author of Transcendent Quality of Remembrance)
I think you've hit the nail on the head, here. If she remembered their wedding night, she would never leave him. Perfectly put.

I don't think Severus {trained spy that he is} would sleep through his door being opened , let alone anything else, but would he believe she was thinking of him, doubtful.
Wow. I wonder how long they managed to stay awake?? I am still enjoying how we are getting bits and pieces of a larger story all fitting together as we go along. And I havne't forgotten about that DE attack - I am particularly interested to see what happened there.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the structure of the story. It was a complicated process, making the pieces fit together. Ah, you remember about the Death Eaters in the dungeons! Good job, you!

Always get tingly for a man who understands the nature of women and knows how to possess them bewitching their minds, ensnaring their senses. Ooooo, now wouldn't that make a great story SS writes a book or teaches a class juxtaposing the seduction of women to brewing potions!
Well done as always Subversa.

aw, it's really sweet that they both want Hermione to remember this night. Since she's having those dreams I wonder if the memories are too mcuh to contain. The rational-as-far-as-HP-fiction-goes side of me says that the potion is irreversible so it's irreversible, but the fan of these two lovers in me wants her desperately to remember. :)
It's very nice to see them both enjoying each other so much. I thought there might be some stumbling through it all but they seem to be finding their way and it's refreshing. :)
