Two girls. Two Houses. One obsession.
In their final year at Hogwarts, two very different girls face their own battle with the continuing rise of the Dark Lord, encountering along the way shattered friendships, broken hearts, a charming blond Death Eater with a twisted plan, and a secret that could rock the foundations of the Wizarding world. Once more, the stern Potions master will have to do the impossible and offer his protection. Will he succeed?
Set during Harry Potter and The Order Of The Phoenix and mostly canon compliant.

A Slytherin (morgaine_dulac) and a Ravenclaw (star_girl) met through a mutual love of the brooding Potions master. They discovered they enjoyed writing seperately, but thought joining forces could be even more fun. Are they bat-shit-crazy? Well, you'll have to wait and see...

I could kick Snape in his but, could he not had offered her a kind word. Well that is Snape for us
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Snape will redeem himself. He always does. We like him too much to let him be the bad guy. :)
Response from gurlimargrethe (Reviewer)
good, looking forward to that
I remember cheerfully the days of Dumbledore's Army. I certainly used to be with Harry on his distrust to Snape in those days, and I never really got to like him anyway. So I liked the way you portrayed Harry, as well as how Hermione tried to defend Snape. It's also nice how you show both Charis and Morgana's loyalty to each other. The question now is: Will it stand the rigours of the new times? It sort of reminds me what some British people, who had German friends, must have gone through at the outbreak of the war. Material for a novel isn't it?
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Thank you very much. It was fun writing Hermione and Harry, although in some ways they are more difficult to write than Snape or Dumbledore. But we felt this was an important hook in the story, not just to weave canon in but to show Charis' loyalty for her friend. It's a shame you don't like Snape. We adore him (can you tell? hehe)
Somebody spank Draco Malfoy! :)
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Yeah, that would be a sight!! With daddy's cane, preferably!
I have to say, I love the kitten (and Jack calling Chairs a kitten). I'm glad you pointed out the hypocrisy of predetermining a Slytherin's motives/actions. It's one of the things that I don't feel was addressed in canon enough. I'm still on the edge of my seat. I love your work!
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Being Slytherin is not easy. They are supposed to act in a certain way the is dictated not only by their own house but also by everybody else. And it's even harder to act non-Slytherin. We felt it was important to show Harry's hypocrisy, even if he had good reason, and also how hard it must have been to act like a mini-Dumbledore and see the bigger picture, the "greater good."
When the chips are down:• Charis is loyal to Severus and to Morgana.• Morgana is loyal to Charis and Severus and Dumbledore... and sometimes Lucius.• Severus is loyal to Dumbledore and Charis and Morgana. And Draco is going to get his fanny waxed if his father or Severus finds out he is threatening Morgana. And Severus will have his head if harms Charis.Harry has valid reasons for not wanting Morgana to be in (or know about) Dumbledore's Army, but not necessarily for the reasons he thinks. If she were to know and let her guard down for just a moment, Lucius would read her thoughts and that would be that. Now that Draco has interrupted her talk with Morgana, will Charis go to Severus' office to ask him about the rumor about his being a Death Eater? Or perhaps to Dumbledore to find out more? Things are getting really tense, and I'm afraid someone is going to get hurt. Thanks for such a great update!Beth
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Loyalty is not only a Hufflepuff trait.Draco is an evil little git and will get his! Although I'm not sure about getting his fanny waxed - that means something COMPLETELY different in the UK!As for Charis, would you in her place dare to go ask anyone about Snape's DE-past? I wouldn't. *shudders*
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
"Although I'm not sure about getting his fanny waxed - that means something COMPLETELY different in the UK!"My face is hurting! Thank you for making me laugh so hard! I had no idea that the meaning would be different in the UK. I suppose it can mean a variety of things, but here it is usually taken to mean that someone has been a prat and someone else has beaten the crap out of them.(Err... just what does it mean in your corner of the world? Inquiring minds want to know...)
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
In the UK, a "fanny" is a slang term for a woman's genitals. So that would be akin to Draco having a Brazilian, I guess, as a post-op transsexual. LOL.
I must confess I’m a little bit confused now. Lucius, the bad guy was kind and caring with Morgana, on the other hand, Snape, the good guy was rough with Charis and he acted out of spite. He took her as a last resort, since he couldn’t have Morgana, whom he desired. Now Charis naively thinks she has a future with Snape, seeing herself shopping with him in Diagon Alley. As if Snape were that kind of guy! Yet Morgana is now jealous, while she spent a memorable night with Lucius, and got the best out of it, regardless of the context. So I wasn’t precise; I’m not just a little bit confused. I’m very confused and don’t know what to think at all…
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
If you think you're confused, imagine how everyone in the story is feeling!Mischief managed. ;)
I have one thing to say. Chocolate croissants... yum! :DOh, and the chapter was pretty good too!
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Thank you, sunny. You sure live up to your name :)And we agree about the croissants.
Boy have I got questions running through my mind! This chapter was just about the most telling yet. To wit:
• Severus held Charis up as an example of the proper way to handle today's classroom assignment and awarded five points to Ravenclaw. Then when she thanked him, he muttered: ‘Do not thank me, Miss Byrne.’ I found myself asking why he would make such a remark. I can't figure out if it was prompted by his guilt of having taken advantage of her feelings for him, or if he was saying that his feelings for her and her surrender to his advances the night before would cause her more problems than she could imagine. I swear if I don't think he really cares for her!
• In the meeting with Morgana in his office, why was Severus talking like the change in her class assignments (apparently with Dumbledore's approval) is to protect a baby that is never supposed to be born? And what is this special project with Ancient Runes for Dumbledore all about?
• I was soooo hoping that Charis would not tell Morgana of her encounter with Severus in the library. Morgana is hurt that he has "chosen" her friend, but she is not angry with him. She is furious with Charis. Good lord, the wedge between the Star Sisters grows wider.
Well, you clearly know exactly what is happening, and I'm going to be around when you decide to let the rest of us in on the secret! Another smashing chapter, ladies! Thanks.Beth
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Point by point then, dearest:*Snape does not want Chairs to live with false hopes. He knows he crossed the line. Yet there is something that keeps him coming back for more. But what is that?*The baby needs to live until the Order is ready, 3 months. He is also concerned about Morgana's health.*Yes, the divide grows bigger. Will the girls be able to repair their friendship? Finally, we are so thrilled you are hooked. We love that you are thinking so much about the story and the way the plot is unfolding. If we could give stars to reviewers, we'd give you 5/5
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
I get stars? Cool beans!*grins*
I'm trying to decide if Severus complimenting Charis's work (in his fashion) is sexier than his other abilities... I almost worried over her eating anything from Malfoy Manor. : )
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Everything Severus does is sexy. And never ever suspect the chocolate croissant!! :P
I am sending you this review as a thanks to a wonderful read. Sorry for not reviewing every chapter but wanted to read it in one then send feedback to you. I have read this whole story this past week. Being off work wiht a hand injury and also sinus infection is not good but was made more enjoyable by this wonderful story.
I adore your "Star Sisters" they are so different and in seperate houses this is the appealing thing. Black and White, light against dark . Their friendship to me is real as in they both fall in and out of friendship, snip at each other then laugh and make up. Even during the despicable time with Malfoy Snr and the awful misscarriage. The awful luring and manipulation of Drako and his fellow Slytherin s was downright awful. And don't get me started on Bellatrix lol.
Snape, his protectiveness for not only his own Slytherins but for the Star Sisters and his lusting after each in various ways. even if he in his heart and pants tries to say he isn't interested.
The little Cat, Lily ahhh so cute even to Severus' and him pretending he doesn't care. Snort.
Jack, lovely friendly faithful Jack. In love obviously with one of the Star Sisters but she thinks only of him as a friend.
The manipulating by Dumbledore and using his students and others as his puppets in his "Greater Good" and his two faced attitude at his so called caring for his students only to use them as cannon fodder in the War that is about to come. I wanted to smack him with his nightcap thats for sure.
So pleased Carris found she had magical blood be it of the Black bloodline . The Star sisters are close witha close bond no doubt. Their bad year with all that went wrong for them in teh love or lack of it department could only result in them drawing closer. This was beautifully written by the way and I did not feel it like a lesbian affair only as two females who love each other and had to find a way to show it in the only way they could. I do hope they both encounter Snape in the next part to this series and do hope they both can appreciate him and he them if you know what I mean. As Snape said or thought in Grimmold Place - the two girls in a bed with him is it only his pipedream lol.
Great plot btw the whole heir to the Dark Lord theme was shuddering to think if it came to fruition and glad it didn't. The horror of the torture by Bella and hope she gets her come uppance from the Sisters big time.
So am hoping to see them both in Grimold place in the Order of the pheonix and causing problems there and creating chaos in the order of teh Pheonix.
Lovely flowing story that I loved and will follow to the next bit. Again superb writing, fluff scenes with Snape - he is a naughty man lol superb vbg. Please keep writing.

Snape is really caught between a rock and a hard place! :)
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Once more, Snape is the man for the task, if he likes it or not. Thanks for reading. More is on the way.
That was a very intense chapter. I sometimes wonder if Morgana shouldn't be a Ravenclaw after all. If she jumped to the wrong conclusion it was because she had the wrong information, but she's not so far from unravelling the truth. Charis, on the other hand, looks more like a Hufflepuff, doesn’t she? Well, I guess one can’t be smart all the time.
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Charis and Morgana are both very young, and one can have all the intelligence in the world, but falling in love casts all reason, logic and common sense out of the window ...
Response from Crystal Quill (Reviewer)
Putting it in other words: hormone beats neuron
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Absolutely!
OMG! Until I read this chapter I hadn't realized that Charis had actually had sex with Zabini. Now both of the Star Sisters have found themselves in situations too complex for their understanding.Charis has been terribly hurt by Blaise's cruel use of her, Malfoy has embarrassed her to tears by throwing her knickers onto her plate in front of her fellow Ravenclaws and announcing to one and all that she had "proved" herself to be a Mudblood slut. And Severus Snape is caught up in another dark plan about which he can do little... but he knows he will have to find a way to protect her without getting himself killed. What a sorry state of "affairs." I cant wait to see what happens next!Beth
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Blaise and Draco really are the lowest of the low. And both Morgana and Charis are having a tough time of it ... and it's only going to get worse, for them, Snape and everyone else involved.Stay tuned.
Lucius the opportunist makes me smile. I wouldn't want him any other way. Stupid Blaise. I hope Charis hexes him into oblivion! Yeah for a great chapter!
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Look up opportunist in the dictionary, and you'll find a picture of Lucius Malfoy. And we love him for it! As for his son... keep an eye on that ferret!Glad you're enjoying this. Stay tuned for more.
I think my windows steamed up. Is it crazy that part of my mind was thinking about Severus and Charis? Keep up the good work.
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
If you don't open your windows, in a few chapters time it will turn into a sauna ...
Acting out of spite may give short term gratification, but long term sorrow. Thanks for giving us such a great gratification for the time being.
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
We are glad you are gratified, and there is plenty more gratification to come :)
Young heads full of everything but experience will sometimes made poor decisions... and I can't think of a poorer one Morgana could have made than the one she made last night. Um mm mm mm mm. I'm afraid she's screwed in more ways than one.I can only imagine what will happen when Severus and Dumbledore find out what has happened. And Charis! What will Charis think? Especially when she finds out that the reason Morgana went to Lucius is because she thought that Charis had had sex with Severus.Great chapter, and I'm looking forward to the next update.Beth
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Screwed indeed. Properly :PThe girl is more than confused. But who can blame her? This is Lucius we're talking about. And if there's one thing Lucius knows how to do, it's SCREW PEOPLE. Both literally and figuratively.Next chapters in the queue. Hope you'll like it.
Now she's gone and done it! :)
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Done HIM, you mean, hehe
I love the inner-workings of Mr. Snape... Always nice to hear his thought processes, etc. I hope Charis ensnares him soon. They both need some love... I'm anxiously anticipating the whole being envious of Morgana comment for the next chapter. Yeah!
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Envy is growing in three hearts. And all three of them need love. But will they find what they are looking for?Stay tuned and find out.S&M
Oh, poor Sev. Can't the man get a break? I like the way he was horrified that anyone would find out he was wearing jewellery!:)
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Wouldn't YOU be shocked if you noticed that Snape is wearing girly stuff? But we think he would look adorable with a liittle star, twinkle, twinkle!
How much more pressure and responsibility can Severus stand? Being held accountable to one master would be intolerable, but being equally responsible to a second master is an invitation to personal destruction. It is a tightrope the likes of which would be impossible for anyone to negotiate without being found out by one master or the other.Or, perhaps, Snape is the only one who could pull it off. "Once more, he seemed to be the only man for the job."And now the rescue mission begins. Morgana has left the castle and that can only mean one thing...Great chapter! I liked the way you let us know the thoughts that ran through Snape's and Charis' minds. It is interesting to see how each interprets the other's response to a look or a comment. Looking forward to the next update.Beth
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
We write purposefully to try and show everyone's thought processes, and we're glad you enjoy our style of writing. And we like to think of Snape as a dark angel, a knight in billowing black robes.Stay tuned, things are about to heat up.S&M
'The only man for the job' - nice to see that there's no pressure on the dear Potions master then!(I don't need to tell you that I'm loving this fic; no matter where I read it!) :-)
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Snape loves the attention! And we love that you love the story!
But then, if Snape interferes, Mlafoy won't be satisfied and we're back to square one, aren't we?Ah! It looks like Dumbledore will have the answer...
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Let's all trust in good old Albus Dumbledore.S&M
Poor Morgana... I'm worried for what's next...
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
In 2 chapters you will be envious of the "poor" girl LOLOups, did we say too much? ;-)
Morgana has nearly fatally harmed herself because of another of Lucius' wicked attempts to get her to give herself to him. And Severus blames himself for not keeping an eye on her because he was dallying with her best friend.
What would make both Morgana and Severus succumb to these obsessions for sexual pleasure with people they would normally never consider if they were thinking clearly? Thinking back to their first visit to Malfoy Manor, I recall that the only people who we are told actually ate the Tiffin were Bellatrix, Morgana, and Snape, but it seems reasonable to assume that Avery might have partaken of it, too. My point here is that the Tiffin could have been the means for Lucius to dose Morgana with whatever "poison" was compelling her to want him... and Snape to want Charis. Maybe the Tiffin is the vector Snape and Dumbledore looking for when trying to protect Morgana from Lucius' attempts to seduce her.
The Slytherin witch had cut herself in such a methodical way — "... poison running through my veins ..." — and I began thinking again about the Tiffin. Perhaps the Tiffin contained a Lust Potion, and the ring and flowers were dosed with Blackroot. Hummmmmm.... perhaps Lucius is more diabolical than at first glance.
Great chapter, and I'm looking forward to the next one. Snape has a very thorny problem, and Charis' charmed necklaces may be the answer to how Severus can know when Morgana is planning to "run into Lucius’ open arms."
Beth
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
Do you happen to like Tiffin? ;-)Thanks for your review. Your ideas are actually better than ours.S&M
Response from braye27 (Reviewer)
To be honest, I'm still not sure what Tiffin is. All I could find out about it by googling is that it's something like a snack and the term came into usage in the English language from India. Can you enlighten me further about what it is? From everyone's reaction in the story, I would assume that it is come kind of sweet, rich, and creamy chocolate something-or-other.Beth
Response from sevs_starsisters (Author of Star Sisters)
You're quite right. Here's a recipe:
Ingredients: 4 oz (or 125g or one stick) butter or margarine 1 tablespoon sugar (note that US tablespoons are 20% smaller than the UK so if you are in N America, use more for this and other tablespoon measures below) 2 tablespoons drinking chocolate 1 tablespoon golden syrup 2 tablespoons raisins 8oz (250g) Rich Tea or plain or digestive biscuits (crackers/cookies in US) 6oz (170g) good quality milk chocolateMethod: Melt the butter and sugar with the syrup in a large pan. Add the raisins and drinking chocolate and bring to the boil. Allow to bubble gently for two to three minutes to thicken a little.
Crush the biscuits (crackers) with a rolling pin (putting them in a plastic bag beforehand cuts down on the mess). Don't leave the biscuit pieces too large, however, or the finished slab will tend to break up when cut. Mix the crumbs well into the melted mixture, coating thoroughly. Press into a lined 8 inch by 11 inch (28cm by 20cm) shallow Swiss roll tin and level out, pushing down the mixture well.
Melt the chocolate carefully (avoiding getting it boiling) and spread over the top. Leave to set in a cool place then cut into 15 or 24 pieces with a sharp knife. You can cut it into squares or rectangles or (as in the picture above), into triangles.

Indeed it is. We would advise caution, though: we cannot be held responsible if you try it and then start moaning like dear Bella ;)
