Received Honorable Mention in Anything Goes Challenge. Sybill Trelawney has been hiding a huge secret. She’s not the witch she appears to be. Now that she is no longer in danger, she can come out of hiding and be herself. But who is she, really? And what does she want out of life?

I am a classically trained singer with three children. I love Star Trek and have watched probably every episode of every series. Favorite HP charaters are Snape and McGonagall. (not as a couple.)

Thanks! It's always a challenge to write Snape in character, (well, at least for me) so I really appreciate that.

I like your Sybill! Have I said that before?
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Not in so many words, but the sentiment was there! Thank you, I like her too.

sp she likes to keep some of her idiosyncracies to scare the staff. funny. she takes it really good.it really is not easy to keep your tongue, when you are the only one who knows all this little details about other peoples lifes. But she has admitted, that she knows how much people need and want their privacy.to make it clear, it is not legilimence, it is reading thoughts.something new for a change. And one needs the permission. So I will like this skill much better. But she can't have got it the 2 times she used it on Snape? wonder, how much Snape will howl about with his"I should be dead, I must atone.", or how public reacts on him. and how the two former bats get on with each other.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
She doesn't officially need permission, but as you said, she understands others need for privacy, so she doesn't intrude. Those two time she didn't have permission, but the first had the need to know and as she admitted, the second was just curiosity. She's embarrassed that she did it without permission. This story will have a bit of a less angsty Snape in it. He wants to move ahead and be the person he couldn't be because of his spywork. He'll be doing much the same as Sybill, becoming who he would have liked to have been. And of course, they will get along splendidly.

Everybody offers help and Hagrid even some tea! This must sound our feel like really comming home.the more for one who has no more relatives and never had anything but the castle to live in, either she was accepted or just tolerated. This will change now.Like her classroom and office do just right in front of us.Yes, one can feel what falls off her. and how she wants to give something to her students, teach a subject, not be the subject that is studied. The first speach after the battle? regarding the three topics I would not think so, or else there would be things missing. Can't be her first speech then.? or did you want to keep it close. maybe much wiser
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Yes, she will finally be liked. As for the speech, (you're talking about McGonagall, right?) it was more of an informational meeting. There would have been some memorial of some kind where speeches would have been appropriate after this. She just wanted to get down to business here.

Every chapter I read just keeps me coming back for more. I like that Sybill still has some of her kookiness. Sybill is going to have all the men after her. lol Well not Flitwick and the staff is probably going to want to murder her if she doesn't learn to hold her tongue soon. lol. I love this story.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
The staff will certainly murder her if she can't control herself. Or at least start a food fight! I'm so glad you're enjoying this. And here I was worried that no one would be interested in such an alteration of a Canon character!

Wonderful. I liked how she rushed off to save him. That's divination at its best, and most useful.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I think so too. It's quite an asset when actually done right!

my! this is just perfect. you made me laugh.there is a genius under this hares-nest of a seer.yes. moremoremore. And now she can step out of the frumpy things and be herself. ah. It is really fun to get to know this real Trelawney woman.and her first act is to safe Snape. How could one not love the new woman *gg*
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I agree, anyone who can save Snape right off the bat has my vote for woman of the year! I'm glad you found it funny so far. She's really getting to know herself too, she's been someone else for so long. The next chapter is up for validation and should be posted soon.

Loved this! It was great! First time reading this pairing, can't wait to do it again!
I love what you had her do to the room! It sounds wonderful. I am so glad that all the professors were welcoming to the "new" Sybil. Now, I'm just eagerly awaiting the next installment!
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Hopefully it will be up soon. I'm just polishing it up before submission. I really liked her room too. I almost want it for a rec room or something!

I hope to see more of the other teachers getting to know the new Sybil. maybe shopping for clothes with Hooch, (and certianly tea with HAgrid!) This was a good chapter. I liked seeing her make her rooms over. I have to hope her drinking won't be a problem now! I want her to flourish (not to Blot, eh?)
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Her drinking won't be a problem, but it might affect her a little bit. She realizes that she was drowning her depression and there are better ways to handle that. As for the teachers, she will make some new friends. Shopping's a great idea, and she definitely has to have tea with Hagrid.

Wow, quite some advanced Transfiguration she did. I didn't know that she was as capable as Minerva at Transfiguration? Who knew. I liked the staff responce - would have liked more of it actually. More questions, bafflement, dialogue... but you made your point.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Heh, heh, she is quite capable with a wand, isn't she? I think the staff was too dumbfounded to say much more than they did! Thanks for your input.

Wonder how Snape will react to the new Sybill?
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
You'll find out in the next chapter. He'll be sarcastically Snape, of course.

This is a wonderful chapter. I don't like that the staff only liked her after her looks changed. How petty! Though I can't wait to see how everyone else reacts to the New Sybill
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Thanks! I think that, although the staff was a bit petty, they probably had a reason. She was a bit eccentric, to say the least. I think they are hopeful that she won't be quite so crazy. Her looks were an outward show of her transformation so they reacted to that most of all. They're hopeful that she'll be a bit easier to take from now on.

I loved this story and hate to see it end, although what a lovely ending it is. Kudos for writing such a wonderful story about an unusual pair.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. It's definitely an unusual pair, and to have it be so popular makes me incredibly happy.
Very nice ending. I have enjoyed this story rigth up to the end. Thank you.

superb! splendiforous! excellentmentness! wonderful story. thanks so much as always, my dearest deb. (me blowing kisses)

Aw, you're so sweet! Thank you, my kimjo. I appreciate your constant support of my stuff.
undoubtedly the best chapter you have written here!oh no, he is definitely not going to take her for granted, one can sense it in the way you quote his thoughts and feelings. He let the hens mess with his hair! and in such a fashionable way, i dare say. extensions!! he must have looked a dark Lucius, was that what you had in mind?Sounds like a miracle. So many things happened in such short time. And the two strangest persons of the castle turned out to be the most loving and caring and happiest and extraordinaly well fitting together one ever could think of.She is his. to have and to hold.for ever.Do never give up, there is a real me to show an discover!! that was true for both of them. shine on.Thank you for sharing this lovely story.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Why thank you! I love your musings about the chapter. Severus definitely won't take Sybill for granted. He's spent most of his life alone, and to have someone care for him like that... well... he won't screw that up!
that is hard work. repeating this difficult subject as often as necessary, going through it over and over again. And maybe seeing him astonished, frightened, disgusted by himself and reconsidering the information with this mess in his head. wow.but they decided to go through it. Sybil was right and Severus was right. He has changed, he will not embrace that life again, and he will be confronted with other people, with the media, with whatsoever. so he has to know about himself.and Harry did what she had told him. he really accepted an advise of her. and is absolutely stunned to see Snape sitting there.well, we all were. but now it is soo cute.smooth transition. first talking about getting Hary and Ginny married, and then going back to her spot on he sofa next to the man she is absolutely besotted with. “I’ll watch your back if you watch mine.” Severus smiled. “I would have it no other way.”wonderful last words. Wonderful ending. but you have a lot more in store, I think? please?
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
It was really hard. Not only did Lucius have to relive it repeatedly, everyone else did also. And their memories are much clearer in their minds. It definitely had to be done, though. Lucius won't hide in his villa forever.Yes, we all were a bit surprised by this pairing, I think. It definitely had potential to be squicky. Glad it didn't come across that way. There's a little bit more. We're almost done.
Good for Lucius to face his demons and come out being stronger for it. Good of Sybill to tell Harry to get off his arse and marry the girl.I hope Severus does the same.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
Severus is no dummy. He knows a good thing when he sees it. Sometimes we need a little clarity to figure out exactly what we want, though, and I think he got that here.
It's to bad that Sybil had to move back to Hogwarts. I like her house.
Response from debjunk (Author of The Real Me)
She'll hopefully get back there again... sooner rather than later!
